Witnessed a crime scene at EPCOT!

We just got back from our trip to the world! While in a YES program workshop with my fourteen yearbook students, the kids were completing an assignment by taking pictures that told a story. One of my girls caught a squirrel in the basket of a stroller. The squirrel had taken a ziploc bag, with a sandwich inside of it, out of a diaper bag at the bottom of the stroller. It then proceeded to take part of the sandwich out of the bag, and eat it! Those poor people are going to think someone was pilfering through their items, when in actuality it was a naughty squirrel! My student's picture definitely told a story. We told her she would be a great crime scene photographer.

LOL They will be wondering "Now who on Earth would steal a sandwich????":lmao:

We have warning signs at our zoo that the squirrels can and will steal anything that isn't locked down, and even open zippers.

I have photos of a squirrel doing the same thing at Epcot! We came out and he was pilfering through our diaper bag!

He was very bold and not a bit afraid of us. We shooed him and he just went on to the next strollers. He must have it made living next to stroller parking.

I will look through my pictutes and edit to add the exact location. My memory fails me on that detail.

ETA - He was at stroller parking for The Seas building.

A similar thing happened to us a few years ago. We exited Spaceship Earth to find a naughty little squirrel sitting in my DS's stroller eating his bag of potato chips that was left in the bottoms of the stroller.:lmao:

Never mind the squirrels! How about those birds who pilfer food from the strollers at MK? I've seen those tiny thieves rifle through popcorn, snacks, etc. While folks are on rides. I'll bet they have no idea their food has been tampered with. --worse yet, I've had a hotdog stolen out of the bun just as I was about to eat it -- by a seagull!!!:rotfl2:

My last trip, I was waiting for Off Kilter and there was this squirrel running around the area. He started running up people's legs begging for food. Luckily for me it was December and a little cool. I had long pants on when he tried begging from me. He seemed to understand the word "NO" :rotfl:

Squirrels are also a nuisance at fort wilderness. They not only got into out tent and ate some of our snacks, the peed on our table. Gross!

we just saw the same thing outside the imagination building on Sunday. squirrel was sitting there chomping on some goldfish he had "fished" out of a stroller in a ziplock bag that he had chewed through. I will be much more aware of what I leave in our stroller from now on!

Aren't there "tame" squirrels in Epcot? (where's Doug when you need him?):lmao:

DD17 and I witnessed this fella eating Wendy's French fries outside of Muppet Vision 3D a couple years ago.

We have the same problem at our zoo with crows. They're really smart critters!

Ever since I started noticing squirrels in strollers and sniffing/licking around water bottle tops, I wasn't able to leave ANYTHING in a stroller anymore. Of course stroller days are done for Ds, but the memory is still big in my mind.

These were taken last year at the Boardwalk pool; people in neighboring lounge chairs had eaten and gone off to do something, leaving all their food scraps behind.

That little dude REALLY liked the leftover mayo in that packet. I was so glad when the people came back and did NOT try to eat anymore of that food, LOL. We told them about their visitor anyway, but it wasn't as time-sensitive as if they were about to use the mayo or something.

Many years ago, my 4 year old DD had her hand bitten when one of those stupid cranes snatched a piece of turkey leg straight out of her hand! It was bruised for a few days. :sad1:

I will say... these pictures and stories are making me very happy that my stroller days are behind me!!
