I can appreciate that, and I apologize for offending you.
If we read the initial post, it doesn't really ask what other DISers thought of the auto train, it simply asks if there are any pictures. I didn't read anything into the post other than what was asked.
When I did answer, you had many views but only one response. I did pass it by due to the simplicity of the question, but I can back to it, since I felt ignoring the question was worse. That is why I decided to answer.
I would like to add a couple things about the board itself. First, we get asked the same question over and over, sometimes to the point where board vets wonder if others do their research. This is not the case for you, as the post was a unique question (pics for the auto train berthing) and you mentioned you did research, which is great. However consistently answering questions about why it is bad to park at a resort to visit a nearby park or how Southwest Airline's Early Bird Check-in works trained the vets to post short direct answers. Social conditioning does happen, and I answer differently based on the culture of the board I visit (you can see many of my posts in the DVC area or the
Disneyland board, if you want to see the difference).
Last, please note no one on here is attempting to be insulting. If you could hear my tone and/or see my facial expressions, then you would have read the answer differently. Also, I would have likely answered the question you wanted vice what was written, as I would have had more info from your tone and facial movements.
Instead, we truly try to help others get the best deal and navigate one of the most difficult aspects of their Disney vacation, the travel. There is no pixie dust outside the berm of WDW and DLR, and we (the board's vets) want you to have the best experience possible. As such, we will give you the facts, straight up with little sugar, since that is how you will see it when you get there.
As for myself and my post, I will admit the question, as worded and not as you intended to ask it, seemed very elementary and simply not worth the time to answer. Harsh, yes, but that is also likely why you only received one answer after four hours time (when I go to it), and that answer was terse with simply a link.
In the end, if you have a question, ask it and you will get the answer. It may not be in the format you anticipate or with much
, but any discomfort you feel from reading the posts will save you a ton of headache if you don't ask it and simply show up to find things are really not acceptable for your family. Personally, this board is all rainbows and unicorns compared to the frequent traveler version of the DIS (FlyerTalk.com). That is full contact hockey or the Detroit Pistons of the 1980s
. Absolutely no love there, and tons of type-A personalities. However, it has so much great information about travel (air, car, train) and hotels that any discomfort (cost) is worth the reward.
Now that we know what information you really wanted (opinions on family suites on the train), some of our colleagues can probably answer that. There is a thread, aptly titled
All About The Autotrain you can look in to see if there is any opinions on the berthing arrangement.
I wish you luck in your travels.
