Oh the places We Go, The People We see

Great update, Jen!

The ship's photographers photos are too cute. And you would never imagine, that Miss Abby canNOT be in the mood. Her smiles in the pictures are so cute.

I love the girls outfits for dinner. What a shame Abby did not feel up to it.

Food, well, that goes without saying, looks pretty yummy and I see some of my favourites there. :thumbsup2

Oh, and btw, YOUR house is finished by now! I had to :lmao: when I saw your photo as I commented on the new house and who might be living there just a few weeks ago. :rotfl2:

The character photos are so cute. Dinner looked lovely. I would love to try the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Mousse. I agree about the Grand Marnier Souffle. I love this, but don't like the famous Chocolate Souffle at Palo at all. This always leads to various levels of drama every time we have dinner at Palo as the servers never believe that somebody does not like it.

Great updates! Love the Flamingo pics, they are such a deep color.

Sorry you had to deal with the creepy man.

Love all the Princess Pics with Abby, she is so cute with them. I really love that dress that Princess Minnie wears.

The Flamingoes were beautiful.
I hate creepy guys and I must have the special look to attract them as they always seem to come up to me.

Love the pictures of Jude and Abby with Minnie! The ones of yo and claire at Dinner were lovely. I can't wait to try the French Onion soup-looks heavenly! Relly enjoying your trip report!

Thanks. I liked our dinner photos too.
The soup is good! ;)

Well I am so glad to hear my house is finished. :rotfl2: Now to just get there and see it. And I'll take you on a tour! :rotfl2:

Abby needs a nap daily and she wasn't getting them, so she did get a bit grouchy at times. She was not pleasant at all to be around and I am glad she was at the other end of the table. :thumbsup2

It's not horrible, but I heard so much about how great it is at Palo, that I was very disappointed. I think they have other desserts I would like much better.

After dinner I went on a nice walk around the ship all by myself.

I love Deck 4.

I found where you go to get to the Vibe ……Don’t ask me, because I’ll never remember in a million years.

A look at Nassau at night.

I headed back to the room for a bit. I don’t remember if I changed my clothes or got a sweatshirt …or both.
We had this guy waiting for us tonight.

I wandered around a bit more and look who I ran into.

They were playing a mean game of putt putt and I was told immediately that I was not allowed to join them or stay. I am so loved.

I ignored Claire and talked with them for a bit. I think Alexis was off with Geoff somewhere? I love this picture. It looks like Abby has some magical powers holding up that golf club.

As I talked with them, I took a few more pictures of Nassau at night.

Doesn’t the Aqua Duck look so pretty all lit up?

Gail and I decided to go off on our own for a bit with Abby. Aunt Mary and Claire were going to continue golfing.

I just love how beautiful the Dream is all lit up everywhere. This is one area it trumps the Magic.

A few pictures with Admiral Donald.

I believe we saw Minnie Mouse out, but she was getting ready to leave. Abby threw herself to the floor and cried out “I want to see Minnie MOWWWWSE!” I heard someone say my name at the same time and looked to see JohnPA from my fish extender group. We exchanged hellos and he totally understood why Abby would want to see Minnie Mowwwwse.

After a bit of roaming, we decided to go to the D Lounge and watch a bit of the Karaoke to see what it was like. And guess who was sitting at a table as we walked in ….Aunt Mary and Claire!

We sat down with them and watched a bit. I was trying to get a picture of Abby and she kept telling me no.

Claire was loving this.

Abby was jumpy.

Soon Gail left with Abby. She just wasn’t going to sit still and it was not a highlight for her.

I am guessing Gail found Geoff and Alexis shortly after, as they had this picture taken before heading back to their room.

Claire, Aunt Mary and I stuck around the karaoke for a bit. Claire kept saying she wanted to sing. Claire is shy, so I thought this would never happen ….EVER. They looked through books and discussed song options. I took pictures.

They had a few issues with deciding on songs. Many that Claire picked out, Aunt Mary really wasn’t sure how they went. Claire insisted that she did, but I knew she only knew the chorus to many. Claire decided on Hakuna Matada. Aunt Mary let her know that she really didn’t know the song well. Claire said that was ok and they submitted their request.
Before you know it, the “Mary and Claire” team were called up.

Claire looked like she was a pro at this. Well at home in the basement she is, but not in front of people.

kareoke1.jpg

Well you would think this would be an easy song to sing, but it wasn’t. It had all the dialog they do in the movie and so there was lots of parts that were just talking. Claire is a slow reader and Aunt Mary just didn’t know the song well enough. That’s OK though. They were having fun.
So much fun that when they sat down Claire was ready to do another. I was in complete shock. I just couldn’t believe how brave she was. This is not like her at all.

Claire was now obsessed and wanted to sing again. Who would’ve thought that?
They decided to sing another song, but the wait was longer this time. We had to sit through quite a few bad singers out just having fun and a few good ones and a few who thought they were good, but were not. There was one young girl, probably preteen age and she got up there. I didn’t expect much, just thinking it was another kid up there for fun, and WOW! could she sing.

Soon the Team of Claire and Mary were up again. This time they sang Zippah Dee Doodah. They were much better this time as the words were a bit easier and Aunt Mary was a bit more familiar with the song.

Karaoke was running over in time so they were one of the last to sing for the night. Claire was all smiles. Aunt Mary ended up buying Claire a karaoke machine for her birthday too and it’s been a bit hit. Well a hit with her, a little noisy for me.

Family Fusion was up next in the D Lounge and Claire wanted to watch it. I needed to hit the restroom, so I left them there.
On the way back look who I ran into …..

Daisy was dressed so cute.

Some cute Duck tale.

She even posed for me.

Great update, Jen. I love those pictures with Minnie and Daisy...absolutely adorable.

Everything looks so yummy...my Fiber One Bar certainly is a let down after seeing all that food.

Sorry Abby wasn't feeling "it" that night.

A little free time away from one's children is ALWAYS a good thing.:thumbsup2

Mrs. Broken Record here: I loved all of the pictures! I say that every gosh darn time but I do. I really do love 'em. Your poor sister has a handful with Miss Abby. She's a hoot!

Claire just wanted to hang over with everybody but you didn't she? I remember, though, when I thought that it was cool to hang over with my aunt and cousins all by myself.

Way to go Claire and Aunt Mary hitting the stage and performing and not once, but twice!

Abby can turn her moods on and off on a turn on a dime. :rotfl:
Yeah, my toast isn't sticking all that well to my stomach either right now.
The bad thing about doing this review is I REALLY want to cruise again....SOON. I keep watching for deals, but nothing that I can use to convince my husband yet. :rotfl:

thanks. I am really enjoying going through them now and reliving everything. There are things I have forgotten till I get to editing these and then it triggers the memories.

Yeah! More great photos of the ship at night. And I am all with you, the DREAM looks awefully pretty all lit up at night. And your night shots of Nassau are wonderful. A first for me to see!

That mini golf course is so much fun, you really need to try it one day, Jen.

What a brave little girl that Claire is, to go up on stage and sing! :worship: Does she get that from her mom? ;)

Daisy looks super cute too!

I can't sing a song to save my life, Well I can sing, but you wouldn't like it! :lmao:

Jen - I just noticed your Williamsburg ticker. :cool1: I hope you have a wonderful time and love it as much as I do.

I have a couple recommendations for you. If you are looking for a place to eat that is just outside of Colonial Williamsburg I have to recommend Food for Thought. It's excellent.

Inside W-burg all of the taverns are fun. It's fairly easy (and cheaper) to have lunch there. You don't need a colonial W-burg ticket to walk through the colonial district and visit the restaurants. Make sure you see the Visitor center and if you are up for it take the walk from the Visitor Center into the historic district. Take the bus back.

There is also a wine & cheese shop right outside the colonial district with outdoor seating. It is literally right outside of the district so you don't have to drive there. They have really good sandwiches and you can literally order a glass of wine and sit outside.

If you have a chance go over to the William and Mary campus.

Your updates - great. Abby is too cute with those princesses.

Yuck to the toothless wonder trying to hit on you.

Pretty night time pictures.

I really wonder why your ship stayed in port so late. I thought they lost a lot of money when they did that because the had to burn more fuel to stay on time. Interesting.

I just added it today. I wondered if anyone would notice. I am still keeping it quiet on facebook though, as Skip doesn't want his family and friends to know ...because you know, I travel WAY too much in their eyes. it's like a sin.
I will look up that place. I know we plan to eat in at least one of the taverns, and at Captain Georges at the recommendation of one of my co-workers.
I am so excited to go, but I haven't had a lot of time yet to really research it. It will be such a new experience for me. My sister and Mom have both been there, but it's all knew to Claire and I. (MY sister is being kind of a pain that I am going too. I guess I am taking away from her spoiledness. LOL)

I plan to take a zillion pictures. We are doing Bush Gardens one day and plan to check out the plantations. I am not sure which ticket for Williamsburg we will get. But right now we are leaning towards the 3 day. The down side is that it is 3 consecutive days. I have even though about getting an AP ,which is fairly cheap, but still deciding on that. If I could get some feedback from my Mom and sister, I would know more, but my sister keeps telling us she is just too busy to think about it. She already made a HUGE deal that we bought her a Bush Gardens ticket and she had no desire to go at all. But yet a few weeks prior to that she suggested we go. LOL

For some reason I thought that the Dream and the Fantasy don't have the outside deck on deck 4. I love deck 4, too. I love Daisy's outfit.

Corinna

Nope, it's an open deck too and beautiful as well. Walking around on this one though, you can tell how much larger this ship is.

We love Williamsburg!!! We now only live a hour away but haven't been there yet. Keep talking about going but things get in the way. They have a huge Yankee candle store that I love. My youngest wants to do the carriage ride but every time we go ask they are always sold out. Have you thought about doing Jamestown and Yorktown also? I hear that's great also. I wanna do those in Dec when they have there Christmas stuff up.

We did talk about Yorktown and Jamestown, but I think we are going to skip it for now. My sister is resisting doing a lot of stuff. She likes to lay around ......so not like me. but I think we will have enough to keep us busy.

.because you know, I travel WAY too much in their eyes. it's like a sin.

:rotfl2: Yeah I know. I got some wise comment from my brother awhile ago because I travel too much. He was checking out my FB page and he isn't even on FB, just lurking. So I took care of that pretty quickly.

I had lunch at the King Arm's Tavern and I really recommend it. You can basically walk in if you go early for lunch. Food for Thought got wonderful recommendations on Trip Advisor, so that's how Denny and I discovered it. The reviews were right on. And the Cheese shop right on the edge of the historic district is a perfect lunch spot.

I feel bad for you, because it really is an active vacation and you certainly don't need someone dragging you down.

The AP is a good deal if you think you will be back in a year. I think 2 days is perfect for the colonial district. You will be so surprised how well everyone gets into character. It's a very immersive experience.

There is so much to take pictures of - you will love it. And BG is really, really pretty so you won't be at a loss for pictures there either.

Really wish I had time to visit W-burg this year, but it doesn't look like its going to happen. *sigh*

I read your last update late last night and forgot most of the comments I wanted to make. Here's what I do remember:

- Way to go Claire for getting the courage to go up and sing karaoke! It's so much fun, if you can get over the shyness. :thumbsup2

- So funny that she was very adamant about NOT wanting to hang out with you. I'm sure you were very sad about getting some time alone to wander around the boat and take pictures to your heart's content. ;)

I think Kings ARm is the one my sister likes too, so I bet we end up there.
My sister is a huge pain in the rear at times. She is heavy and complains a lot obout doing too much. It would actually do her good to move around more. She has health issues and I am sure if she lost weight, some would go away or lessen up a bit. But she doesn't see that as an option. Over the years I have tried to get her to do a daily exercise and report to each other to keep us on track and she always says no. She has every excuse in the book why she can't do it.

I doubt we'll be back, maybe ever, but the AP would allow me to do mor than 3 days consecutively. But I might just get the 3 day pass and go from there and see how it works for us. I got to work printing out directions the last couple of days to some places of interest. I think we will do at least 2 plantations, maybe 3. How long does it take to go through them? I am thinkig the Shirley and Berkeley are fairly close together, so maybe doing both of those in one day.

I am excited about taking new pictures of a new place. It wil ltake me a hundred years to get them all edited, but it will be fun taking them. :thumbsup2

I am really excited to see Bush Gardens too. I know it's not the same as Floridas, but still a new experience. I have been to Floridas in about 15 or so years anyways.

She was not very nice about be being with them. LOL I am not cool like Aunt Mary. Little does she know, but I am an extremely cool Mom. Even Michael and Paige realize that now too. ;)
