Delicate Dreams Unlimited Question

We are getting ready for our Disney Cruise and we are definatly going to book again while onboard. My question is that we do not like our current DU Agent. Long story short, she really messed up our booking and the owner had to step in and make it right. Just as a side note DU has one of the best Customer Service out there. Love them!!! So my question is, when I list DU do I give them the name of another agent? Will my current Agent be looking to see if we booked onboard? I'm not sure if you just list DU or if you list DU and a Agent. How would I handle this?

Thanks

You can just list DU if you don't have a specific agent in mind.:)

i would check w/the awesome customer service people/person at DU as to what you should do...

I would like to know how to get in touch with the excellent customer service. I recommended my DU TA to a friend, and she emailed him on March 15. When she didn't hear anything by the 19th, she requested a quote through the DU site...as of today, still nothing. I have an existing ressie with them, was looking at booking another. I sent my DU TA an email for the new booking...you guessed it...no response! Requested a quote through the DU website...again, no response. So, today, I called the number for existing ressies--I didn't know what else to do. When I explained everything, I was told to resubmit a quote request through the website.

In all fairness, I've used DU for prior cruises with no problems at all! My DU TA is usually on top of things--that's why I recommended him so highly to my friend. ANYTIME he goes out of town, he always gives plenty of advance notice, and sets up emails to deliver an "out of office" reply with details of when he'll return. But not hearing from him, and then getting nowhere when using the DU site is really frustrating...:sad2:

You should email or PM him your issue, and you will probably get assigned a different agent.

I would get the name of the agent before you go so it gets listed on your reservation correctly on board. This time when we rebooked I learned that the Disney rep had our agents name from last time. I am guessing that if you want to change agents you will need to provide the new name so they can update your file.

I had an issue with a travel rep once - not dreams. I just requested to have another agent assigned to me. It was not a big deal.

I like most here would recommend requesting a different TA. I have had nothing but good experiences with DU and recommend them to everyone I can and have heard nothing but praises from all my friends and family. PM me if you would like the name of our TA with DU if you would like, she is great.

I have not had the best experience with DU either. Have you looked into SW? I really love my TA there. She is on the ball, has a direct number, and fixes things quick.

I would be happy to answer any questions or address any issues anyone has with Dreams Unllimited Travel.

Please feel free to write to me at John@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com

I would also like to ask that if you every see a post on this board that asks how to ge in touch with someone at Dreams Unlimited Travel that you feel free to share my email address.

Thanks

I won't use an agency where when the agent goes on vacation etc I get "out of office" They should have someone covering their desk while they are gone.

I also believe there should be 24/7 emergency coverage so that when you get to the port at 2 on Sunday and your booking got messed up you have someone to call! That rules out a LOT of the Disney specialists. The truth is that all to many of them do this as a hobby or 2nd or 3rd job. I have two friends who do this. Both of them have full time jobs and one of them has two kids. They know how I feel and we are still friends, but they don't book my vacations. I have a third friend who is a full time agent. If one agent is off you are automatically directed to someone who covers and they take turns being "on call" on nights and weekends.... Yes it's a lot of work but.....

The only time I used a Disney specialist was for a trip where they were the only option. Learned my lesson. The only way I finally got port transfers booked was to start copying the owner on all correspondence. They never bothered to ask why I didn't use them again LOL!

This happened to us and we requested a new agent, before our cruise.

!

I can understand. We haven't really had a problem, but it is frustrating to have an agent, that's only available 4 hours a day.

I can totally understand this. I was crazy nervous about this when we decided to go on our first cruise. But so far we've had great luck with our TA. She does put out an out of office notice on the weekends but it's usually just to say her replies will be slow. I've yet to experience a super slow reply, I've emailed her at noon and always had a response by that night. I agree though, it's nerve racking sometimes. But DU has been great so far!

If you don't list a travel agent / agency when you do your on-board booking, can you transfer the reservation to them later and still keep any onboard booking benefits?

Sure can. What incentives the TA give may vary so you may want to check before you sail.

You only have 30 days from the date of booking to do this. Rule changed a few weeks ago.
