What food/cuisine does Disney need, or need improved?

I would love if they had some more genuine New England food over at Yacht and Beach - I live in CT and we have fantastic fried clams (and Jimmy's fans here??). I like Cape May Clam Bake, but not really for the seafood, ironically. I see on the menus that there are lobster and shrimp rolls at Hurricane Hanna's, but the fact they have shrimp on them suggests they're not authentic...anyone have them?

I would also like to see more breakfast "to go" places. We aren't big breakfast people, but like to grab something light and keep moving...anyone remember when Starring rolls had fresh smoked salmon and bagels? We prefer this type of food vs. pastries for breakfast. Maybe some healthier egg sandwiches (ie egg white, turkey sausage etc.).

Although the pizza at many of the table service places is good (i.e. Mama Melrose, Via Napoli etc.) I would love to see some improvement in the CS pizza places. They are kinda awful Maybe make some nice NY-style pizza and sell by the slice??

Anyway...anyone have some thoughts???

For lunches I'd like to see a nice NY style deli (maybe near the NY section of DHS?). A QS eatery that specializes in good made to order subs would be nice also. We like the variety of TS restaurants for dinner, but in some cases the quality of the food could be improved.

I believe that I saw a rumor of Shake Shack coming to Downtown Disney after the re-themeing into Disney Springs.

In my opinion, places that have 'great' burgers include Five Guys, In-n-Out, etc.

It doesn't need to be fancy.

Also, I always wondered why Chinese food is so poorly represented at Disney. The rolling carts of a dim sum parlor would work well for both adults and children in EPCOT.

I realize that The Garden Grill, Sunshine Seasons, and The Wave are already focused on sustainable agriculture and health, but I would like to see even more of that in the World. More organic selections and whole foods would be a very welcomed addition, IMHO!

I love breakfast food but I really don't like to eat in the mornings. I am a HUGE fan of "Brinner". I would love to see one of these character dinners, which are all pretty awful food-wise, scrap their dinner menu and just serve their breakfast menu all day.

Agreed! I love Thai food - I think this could easily be added in Animal Kingdom.

They need more Mexican food. It is so easy to be gluten free with Mexican food And I get so tired of the same old burgers, fries and salads over and over again.

Those CS bounty platters for breakfast are awful all around property - they really need to work on those.

A real Dim Sum cart ts restaurant would be awesome, as well as an authentic Indian and Thai, too.

But what is really trendy right now and a great way to eat is tapas-style. Plenty of à la carte little apps. It's a really nice break from the massive meat-potato entrées. Everybody around the table can share and taste plenty of food. We love this kind of dining.

It would be nice to have a great burger to go place at DD, I agree. Someplace with nice fresh cut fires etc.

Honestly I have given up on Chinese food in Florida...especially since here in the New York area we have very good Chinese. BUT it would be nice!!

I agree, the breakfast bounty platters are terrible.

Honestly, I'd like to see all the restaurants that accept DDP revert to the quality & selection they once had. IMO, they all need to improve. I don't see that happening though.

The one thing I think the parks are lacking most is a non-buffet, non-character, TS breakfast.

Brunch on at least a few days a week would be nice. I'd even take a nice brunch on Sundays only, with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We've never tried HOB's. I'm afraid the noise level would be too high for a relaxing brunch.

As far as burgers, we don't have In-n-Out, but we do have Five Guys. To me, some of the TS burgers compare favorably with FG. I thought the burger we had at Sci-fi a couple years ago was better. Beaches & Cream's wasn't. The burgers at CS are all seriously lacking though.

I know this won't be a popular suggestion, but I'd like to see a few restaurants that became adult only w/ no large parties allowed after a certain time of the evening. There are a lot of children who behave appropriately at nice restaurants, & are a pleasure to be around. Unfortunately, that's not the case for all of them. It would be nice for WDW to take the decision out of the clueless, it's my vacation too, parent's hands. Large parties, especially when they're drinking, can be louder than misbehaving kids.

When Spoodles opened that is what is was but it did not go over well. the server we had the 2nd time we ate there after the change, told us that when we asked why it changed. Best Tapas place by WDW is Cafe TU TU Tango.

Aaaanyway....as for the question at hand, how Canada cannot have a take away counter featuring Schwartz' Smoked Meat is a mystery to me. It would be the most popular CS venue in the World Showcase, oh.... about 5 minutes after it opened.

Tapas can be thought of as Spain's version of dim sum - small plates of seasonally appropriate little bites. I'm with you!!

Funny, I'm going to Il Mulino in two weeks with some friends and was thinking how we could devise our own small plate feast with a hint of pasta. We know each other from New Orleans where they have a similar style of eating that starts with raw oysters and plenty of fried ones too, toss in some shrimp and soft shell crabs......

Tapas would be great too!!

I've never been to Sea Whirl as it is pretty far from me. I now live in Darien, but lived in Cheshire when I was little. We used to go to Jimmy's in Hamden before they closed. My DH and I will go to W Haven on occasion because we love the FRESH taste of the clams there.

I wish I could bring all our fellow DIS'ers and foodies to Connecticut/new England to taste what fried clams, clam chowder, and Lobster Rolls are suppose to taste like. I'm sure everyone feels like that about their regional cuisine!!!

There are no Indian restaurants in WDW. I'd like to see an Indian restaurant... It is a very famous country after all with amazing food.

The Rose and Crown needs improving in Epcot, as does (a little) Tutto Italia. The food certainly isn't authentic at Rose and Crown and it would be nice if they made all the restaurants in WS as authentic as possible without being... Adventurous.

I'd like to see more dining options at AK as there are only three TS restaurants presently! None of them we are that keen on.

I'd like to see more dining options at SSR as it is one of our favourite resorts yet so often overlooked! There is only one TS restaurant at SSR and I think a character meal would be great at putting it on the map so to speak.

DHS could have some better options. The food at Sci Fi Dine In is terrible in our experience! Mama Melrose is cute, but there should be some more options IMO. We usually go over to the boardwalk for lunch instead.
