Hi Seneca Wolf! Can I get a lime green mickey head with the fab 5? My user name is great! Thank you!

I didn't read your ADRs yesterday....duh, We will be at 1900 Park for breakfast 10 minutes after you on the 18th. I will have my Lime Green Micky Head with my user name and Team August on it.
ScenicaWolf can make you one if you post a request for one and then you print it up and pin it to yourself, or your back pack, or stroller, or kid LOL, and we can recognize each other that way!

Cool, would be awesome if we bumped into you there. Perhaps we can also meet up in one of the parks during the week as well!

Also ScenicaWolf, am also requesting a "Mickey Head" myself! Username is "HPCrazy".

I'm sorry I didn't read all 91+ pages, but I'm new to August. We usually travel in May and actually have a trip planned for May that we have to cancel. My son is a kidney transplant patient and is in full rejection. We're hoping with his treatments, he will be well again and able to go in August. We've never been during August so I'm here to try to get some tips!

Welcome! Hoping and praying your son is well enough to go in August! What a lot for you both to go through.

When in August are you planning to go? It will be hotter than May, but crowd sizes will be low in late August.

I am also not caught up on this thread! Made our ADRs in Feb and I am very happy with them. Right now I am debating buying APs since we will be in WDW a total of 13 days this year. Weighing the savings against giving up the free meal plan...

We might be a bit unusual but we have no problem finding things to take pictures of at Disney. On our last trip we had 3156 total pictures. 819 PP+, 496 from my phone, 680 from my wife's phone and 1161 from our DSLR.

Wow!

Is it really important to have ADRs for all your TS meals when you're on the DDP? I'm on a tight budget and I don't want to have anything left over at the end of my trip.

I was going to wing it with a few of my TS, but then I read through a bunch of Aug2013 itineraries and ADRs and I saw that most people had all their TS meals planned with an ADR!
I have a few ADRs that I'm excited about, but is it going to be difficult to walk up and get seated within a reasonable time frame when I want to wing it?
I know that CRT, BOG, etc. are out of the question, but I don't want to have to settle for a less-than-decent meal just to use a TS with my plan.

Thanks for any advice! Super excited for Aug!

Please, if I can in any way pass on the knowledge I have gained here it's ADR, ADR and be sure to get your ADRs. I have heard of walk ups... There are stories of successful walk ups, but the unsuccessful walk ups are sad and hungry.

Thanks a bunch! Just made two more ADRs to use up all our meals and I feel sooo much better!

Wow, that's cool! We take lots of pics at the World in the course of a week but I don't think we ever got that high...at least not yet lol.

QOTD!

If you could only go to one park, which one would you pick and why?

Since it's my daughters first time I'd have to take her to MK to see the castle, but if I was going alone I could spend the whole vacation in Epcot, eating my way around the world :cloud9:

MK for me too. I couldn't imagine getting a chance to go for just one day and not going there!

Agreed. We've been on Disney cruises for the past two years, so we've only had one day at the parks each year. Both times, we chose MK as our one and only park to visit. It never gets old!

Can't imagine only one, but if so it would be Epcot. I would miss the MK terribly though!

Epcot. LOVE Illuminations and eating/drinking around the world showcase. Love all the futuristic/travel through time rides. Can't wait- just hope my babies will let us enjoy it at least a little on our trip- I certainly didn't appreciate it as a kid!

I would go to Magic Kingdom. It's the park I know best and remember the most from my childhood - not that there were many other parks then...but anyway. I am really looking forward to sharing this magical experience with my kids. And BOG, I am really looking forward to eating at BOG! :yay:

Hi Everyone!

We'll be in WDW 8/14-8/24 staying at Kidani and OKW :cool1: And by we I mean my MIL, and my 2 DD's. This will be our first time being there in August. I think the crowds will be bigger than we're used to. But, since the girls aren't missing any school, we're able to stay longer :woohoo:

My first thought was MK of course! But then I remember going with my wife when we were first engaged for a day trip to HS. I also haven't spent much time exploring Epcot and could easily see my wife and I spending the day eating and drinking around the world. If we didn't have kids we also might be up for an early start at AK to see the animals in the morning and catch all of the shows in one day. It would all depend on our mood I guess!
