Borrow from next year and do a short trip. If you can still transfer them to someone else, that is also a possibility.

You could transfer them to another member.

Each owner is limited to just one transfer IN or OUT per year so you would have to be willing to burn your one transfer for 2013 AND find another member willing to give up his/her transfer for the small number of points. Also the recipient would have to be able to use the points before they expire.

How is the year defined for this rule? Is the UY you're currently in or the UY of the points you transfer?

For example, I have a June UY. If I did a transfer now of 2013 UY points, is that my transfer for the 2012 UY (current year) or for the 2013 UY (year of the points being transferred)?

I have always understood it to be calendar year.

Transfers are based on Use Year. If you have a June Use Year, you are in your 2012 Use Year and may transfer to another member's 2012 Use Year. At this time you may transfer points from your 2012 Use Year and/or your 2013 Use Year (into another member's 2012 or 2013 respective Use Year). Two transfers may be made with one phone call to MS for the current (2012) and next (2013) Use Year. (Those with a February or March Use Year could transfer their 2013 and 2014 points with one phone call.)

The Use Month does not really matter, the only thing that does is the Use Year itself (2012, 2013). The points will retain their original Home Resort status as well as the original Use Month/Year regarding banking deadlines. Transferred points may be banked into the next Use Year but cannot be borrowed into the current Use Year.

And I just learned yesterday when receiving points in my first transfer, you can't transfer banked points.

Thanks, Doc!

Correct. However you can bank current year points when received in a transfer.

So does this mean that if I transfer my 2012 June UY points Into your 2012 Dec UY, the points are then good until Dec? Or do they still expire in June?

Can I transfer 2013 points before I'm in 2013?

Your points don't morph into anything other than what they are. They remain June 2012 points for your resort.

You can transfer 2013 points into someone's 2013 UY before you are in your 2013 UY.
