That's my beef about having cruise FB pages. I'm sure it's hoppin over there and it's cooled off here and that sucks.

I just don't understand the draw I guess to FB vrs Dis.

It is not easier to get too.

Ad It is not hard to jump from one to the other, I am on both allday long on my days off............

But I will be here just as much...... I guess me and you will be the chatters on here.

It really isn't "that" jumping over there either.....

Probably too far out for most to chat it up.

It just gets me through until my next cruise.

Yes, Tampa. In New Tampa, NE of downtown. It's sunny, but windy & chilly. 60s today. Tomorrow only a high of 62 with lows in the 40s. Should warm up into low 70s Thurs & Fri.

I'm laughing at the weather for the spring breakers......(can't help it)

I like that facebook isn't filtered through moderators. And also that like comments are sorted together into posts

LOL! I know exactly what you mean (but not saying you're mean!)

I actually post both here and on FB, and I may have fallen out of the top few chatterers, but I think I'm still kind of chatty here too I can follow the conversations better there because of how they are laid out. I also like that you can see who you are talking with so when you meet the people on the cruise you can say oh, that's so and so!

That right there is the #1 reason that makes it hard for those of us not on FB; even over the planning and other conversations. In June at the DIS Meet, it felt like those of us not on FB were on the outside looking in on people who had been friends for what seemed like years. We walk over to the meet area & someone said to us, "Oh! It must be the non-FaceBookers, Emily & Scott." Over & over I heard, "Oh yeah, once we got a FB page we never went back to the DIS." There were THREE families that were so super nice & friendly & weren't artificially trying to make small talk. Three out of a huge group. That's my problem with FB pages being created with cruise groups. I'm an adult & it sucks to be transported back to a school clique situation.

It was an absolute blessing to have non-FB page DIS-only cruises in Dec and March. So, after this cruise, Scott & I decided no more DIS meet threads for us.

Ok. Vent over. To the people that prefer FB, we agree to disagree. I'm no longer going to belabor my point.

I go through spurts where I have only a limited amount time to be on FB so I try to keep it to my family and close friends. I'll try to pop in here when I can, but I've found in the past I've had a hard time keeping up with fast paced threads.

I heard a few places in town saw flurries yesterday, but not us. We are too close to the beach now. But even if we had seen snow, I would not tell you because I would be too jealous of your "Oh it's only 65 degrees...too cold for shelling." Haha. Just kidding. (I have to put a disclaimer here, since you can't to "smilies" when posting from a phone!)

They are most likely not lurking - they post a few times and then flee to FB. I found that with our June cruise as well.

I didn't flee! Don't do FB. I've been on vacation then trying to catch up at work. Now I'm trying to catch up with this thread.

During my vacation I was able to re-shop my reservation for this cruise. Saved some money, had my deposit reduced to 10%, and will be getting OBC from both DCL and my TA.

Excellent! I've done this once - it's a great feeling!!! (Now we typically have a dummy date booked ready to move.) Love the double OBC! On our cruise two weeks ago, it covered the base gratuities and Remy brunch with the champagne pairing!! OBC rocks!!!

We got a ton of snow this weekend but it's now starting to melt off. This Thursday we get to find out what we are having and then next Thursday we leave for WDW and then our cruise on the Fantasy! It's going to be a busy couple of weeks for me.

I am on the FB thread, but check this more frequently. Too many posts to keep up with there .

I am mostly a lurker here but I will post about the snow/weather. We had snow on Sunday - not much, an inch or two - but so cold. The kids are on spring break this week and it is just as cold as winter break. I am so over winter, I have been composing a letter in my head. It goes something like this:

Dear Canada,

You have been very generous with the cold, biting winds, snow, and single degree highs this year. Please feel free to stop giving. You can even have some of it back.

I am not on Facebook, so I have no idea what goes on over there. I follow this thread but don't post much. I am really trying not to dwell on this cruise much because I have been waiting and waiting for this itinerary and would love to do it. We have cabins booked but it will be my son's first year of High School and I am afraid it will not work out to take him out of school for a week. But who knows, maybe I will enroll him for online courses by High School anyway and then it wont matter.
