How is the bus wait for transportation to MK? We go to the park in the AM come back to swim after lunch then go back at dinner time. We are only going to a park one day, but we are thinking AKL because of the zero entry pool, and something on the monarail is to much. We could drive but not sure if that would save any time. Maybe taking a cab one or two of the ways?

Any suggestions?

Never had a long wait for a bus from MK to AKL when we stay there. It will all depend on how crowded it is, but I was happy with the bus service to and from AKL. Had heard it was bad, but we thankfully ran into no issues. Heading back there in June!!!!

While AKL doesn't have the best busses on property, they are still WAAAY better than driving!!! Definitely stick with the bus. ::yes::
Just plan for a 20 minute wait for one to arrive & be happy if it's less. Disney transportation really is the way to go.

The buses have always worked for me, except for one reservation I had for dinner, I wanted to make sure I was there on time and we just took a cab.

Same with us. If we want to sleep in or hang at the room until the last minute we take a cab.

The big problem with cab to/from MK is that you have to get the cab at the TTC, so you're adding a monorail/ferry to the trip. That will take a good 15 minutes usually, which would take the time to wait for the bus.

Resort to resort for dinners cab is usually best.

I'm sorry if this is somewhere in the thread and I've missed it....what category would you book to have one of the rooms in which the doors open to the lobby below?

Also, if one wanted a room close to the lobby, would pool view be a good bet? It looks like lots of those rooms' balconies look into large trees. Would you just request something like, "full water view, no foliage" if you didn't want to look into trees?

The rooms that open to the lobby could be pool view, could also be savannah view. I'm assuming you're talking about regular resort rooms and not DVC villas? Regular resort rooms that open to the lobby would be on Floor 4 only; DVC villas are on floor 5 (and 6 - but that's DVC Club Level).

To be honest, I'm not sure the room assigners (or front desk) would even know for sure which rooms have the full water view. I think it's the luck of the draw. :confused3

Thanks for the info. Yes, I was talking about regular rooms, not DVC. :)

Please add me to the list :goodvibes:!!!

Just booked a quick quick weekend last night :surfweb:. I will be there April 5-8th staying at AKV.
I had 50 DVC points that expired end of May and decided it would be easier for me to go then to rent them ;)!! Hoping my savannah view waitlist will come through for the 1st night, but a tree view in FL in Disney is always better than a tree view in IL! No parks; just food, DTD, and hopefully some :sunny:

:cool1::banana::yay:

....I'm really hoping that airfare goes down this afternoon....please send loads of PD my way....:wizard:

Kim---can you fly allegiant? They just sent me an email about the 'final days if spring sale' fares were $68/one way.

....get price - I don't think that I can use it with my DH's Chase Freedom card points though....:confused3 I'll have to check on that later....THANKS! :thumbsup2

I say Buy a good pair of Sneaks.....& Hoof it...LoL:banana:

:cool1:

Just booked December 1 - 6 for a 1 BR villa, Savannah view! My DD can't wait to see some "raffes" and "zeebahs." Never stayed on site before, I have a bad feeling this trip is going to spoil me forever!

....brace yourself.

ah Kim..it is so good to see you still here..and I still smile at seeing Roy in your signature. I found some old pictures the other day from when I was at WL and looking for his get-well present.:sad1:

I briefly entertained the idea of staying Club Level for this trip..but just can't justify the $$$$$$. Not when I am never at the hotel for long. I would have to (gasp) stay in a value for a few nights to make up the difference and I would just rather have a week in one room at AKL then do that..

I still need pool view room suggestions!
