I know the healthiest way to lose weight is to follow a healthy diet and exercise. However, if it was that easy to do, no one would be overweight.

My weight is starting to effect my healthy and I am struggling with doing the right thing. I have a lot to lose. I would like to have a diet pill that at least would get me started.

I would appreciate hearing from others who have found success. Please no critisizm. I do already know right from wrong.

I have done Weight Watchers and had various gym memberships and even a personal trainer. I have tried the "healthy" way.

i have tried many pills (from the thermogenic to the ALLY style fat blockers) and non of them really worked. If there was a miracle in a pill -- believe me people would know about it..

the secret to all of these pills is the "excersice plan" that they indicate must be used -- just save yoruself the money and do the excersie plan .

While there is TONS of magic at Disney... sadly there is no magic pill for losing weight.

I started Weight Watchers Jan. 1 2012 and lost 52 pounds for my WDW trip in November 2012. I gave myself the week off and gained about 7 pounds, but started eating healthy again once we got home. I was able to get back to my goal weight pretty quick.

DH and I just went on a Disney cruise 2 weeks ago and I put on about 5 pounds. I've just started trying to get those back off...

I wish I had some good news, but you already know the only way to get to your goal :) As for me, it always helps to have a trip scheduled in the future so I always have a reason to get into that super-cute outfit. Disney trips keep me motivated for sure!!

Good luck to you :-) :thumbsup2

I had a friend, she wanted to lose weight, she tried all kinds of pills and weight loss products - she now weights more than she ever did...

Some of the wisest words I have ever heard are "when making most decisions in life, remember, the hard thing to do and the right thing to do are often the same!"

I can see the desire to get a jump start, seeing results is the best motivation for any project, maybe your doctor or a health food store could recommend some vitamins or shakes that could boost your energy and start you on your way, without any bad side effects?

There are also many websites that offer natural products that do this - nourished.ca is a great one.

Good luck.

I have started taking 2.5 mg of B12 in the mornings. It really cuts my appetite down.

I've tried various types of over the counter pills that are supposed to kill your appetite but none of them work. What does work is cutting back the number of calories you consume and burning calories. I use My Daily Plate. You plug in your weight and how much you want to lose and it tells you how many calories you can eat. They have a website or an App. I love the App. So convenient.

I used to eat so many empty calories once I stopped doing that I started dropping weight really easily. There are so many good yet filling foods that don't have a lot of calories.

Just look at any Hollywood actor or other thin person. Do they eat meat, bread or cheese? Fried foods? Sugar? Rarely. You can get used to eating a mostly fruit and veggie diet and adding a little bit of carbs and protein. In the past I used to eat mostly carbs and sugars and meats. The change hasn't been as hard as I expected. I'm not hungry either.

Drink a lot of water too. It fills you up and sometimes you are just thirsty when you think you are hungry. Eating watery foods fills you up too. Oranges, pineapple, grapes.

I have tried PGX, and various other ones, but none really work. I would talk to your doctor and get a referral to a nutritionist, to help you. And exercise. Even a brisk daily 30 min walk helps.
I wish there were an easy way, but really the old fashion diet & exercise is the only thing that works.
Or a more extreme way is the lap band. I don't know anyone personally that's done it.

In 2009 I hit my high of 214 pounds. (I'm nearly 5'7, but have very small bones). I was miserable - my knees hurt all the time and I was always exhausted, the only thing I wanted was to get back to my former self. I didn't think it was possible.
My doctor, who is very conservative, understood and prescribed me Phenteramine. I lost 70 pounds in less than 6 months. My wedding dress was a size 2!!!!
I gained some of the weight back in the last year, but mostly because of all the fertility drugs that I've been on. After our last (failed) IUI, I went back on the meds and am determined to get my life (and body)back.
I dont recommend doing anything OTC. Please visit your doctor prior to taking any pills, as they can cause problems. I had many tests run, and had to see my doctor ever other week for monitoring.
Good luck!

I have always struggled with weight and my highest ever was a year after I quit smoking. (2 years ago) I gained 50 pounds in a year. I have never ever in my life even thought of taking anything. I am to afraid of the side effects. I was at my heaviest weight and my cousin was using a product called ACE (appetite control and energy) she was doing well. So I tried it as my blood pressure had went up. It does teach you portion control and gives u a nice clean energy. I have in 10 months lost 53 pounds. I only took them for 6 months and then quit and have been maintaing on my own. Sabaforlife.com is the website. I did take them to my Dr first as well and had her look them up. It is hard. Good luck.

ACTUALLY, there are medications that will help you loose weight. The most effective was taken off the market in Canada, but is still prescribed in the US. It's a huge loss for Canadians.

If you go speak to your doctor, there are a couple of medications that they can prescribe for you. They help in suppressing your appetite, and also breaking down fats. But know, with taking a prescription medication like this, the side effects can be horrible. And I won't begin to list them on here.

The upside to taking prescription weight loss meds, you do not need to exercise. Unlike all those fad pills that come out over the counter, these work completely different. If you actually want a medication to help with weight loss, go to your Dr. Do NOT spend the money on the ridiculous meds that are over the counter.

Losing weight can be as difficult to do as quitting smoking. Other than speaking to your Dr, the other suggestion I have is going to see a naturopath. There are ways to lose weight, by simply changing some of the foods you eat....and simple exercise. It's not always about cutting things out of your diet.

Good luck!! Hope you find the right answer:goodvibes

I hear ya. I've struggled with my weight for all my adult life. Tried all sorts of diets, meditation, stress management, and even just tried to kill the pounds off with obsessive exercise. Nothing worked for long. My weight shot up to 250 pounds again in mid February and I began my annual "I need to fix this" searching around the Internet. I found a diet that made sense to me and decided to try it for a few weeks. Today I weigh 230 pounds, a weight I really don't remember being at for at least 30 years, and I am still slowly losing weight every day.

The "diet"? It's the Paleo Diet and its a permanent way of eating, not something you go on to lose weight and then go back to your old ways. The biggie is no grains or dairy, just lots of lean meat, vegetables, and a little fruit while you're losing. You can have more once you get to where you want to be.

I could go on, but I'm not going to evangelize here, just say that it's working for me and if you could commit for 3 weeks it might work for you. You can find tons of info online or in book stores. Btw, I'm not quite 100% Paleo but pretty close most of the time. We're at WDW now and it can be challenging to find places to eat "the right way". If any are interested I could post later on how I made out.

Good luck.

Totally off topic, but I just had to compliment you on your waving Maple Leaf - gorgeous. It gave me goosebumps.

:P Thanks :)

btw-- i went from 245 lbs to 170 lbs eating plain steamed rice with bbq pork and hot and sour soup for 3 months.Chinese place around the corner from me had that for $5 and it covered two meals ;)

now i just eat balanced meals, walk and look good!

I haven't found pills to be particularly helpful either.

I lose weight by eating low carb 4 days a week and following the old weight watchers points plan on the other three. I usually lose about 4-5 pounds a week with the first two weeks being more like 7-10 pounds each week. That's how I jump start my weight loss...now if I could just avoid going off my eating plan and gaining it all back again.... :rolleyes1

check out myfitnesspal. There is a app and also online and it is free. Honestly anything like pills and surgery is a quick fix and honeslty not a resoution just something to help. If you dont eat healthy after the fact you can gain all your weight back and more. I too struggle with weight and i decided to do myfitness pal ( you can adjust the calories not just use the set) and also decided not to deprive myself of anything, if i want ice cream or a burger i just make sure the rest of the day is healthier. also if you do overeat one day or a meal that is fine there is always the next meal or the next day. You honestly can't think of it as a diet it is a way of life. also drink lots of water, it helps

Ive had great success with PGX. They aren't magic, but they have helped me tremendously in being satisfied with a smaller portion and eliminating cravings.

I lost 50 pounds over the last year using a product called Isagenix. The first 45 pounds came off with NO exercise what-so-ever. I continue to maintain but still want to lose another 30 pounds or so.

But that being said, for me it was a lifestyle change. I did it not only to lose weight, but to also improve my overall health.

I now workout for the most part on a regular basis. I feel better than I have in years!

You CAN do it! I have tried EVERYTHING out there, and for me this was the only product that helped or that I truly like. You can ask me more about the program if you like, just keeep positive and don't be too hard on yourself.

Take it from someone who's been on some kind of diet pills since I was about 16, none of them work. They're loaded with caffeine and and screw with your heart, make you dizzy, nauseous, and just screw with your insides a lot. I know it's tempting, but the "promises" of weight loss aren't real, and it won't work. If people have seen results it's because they are also working out and eating healthy.

Your best bet is it eat clean, healthy food, and to take part in some kind of exercise daily. You'll get there! :thumbsup2
