Bah sorry, I disappeared from the DIS for a few days and I FELL SO FAR BEHIND. Blergh.

But I'm caught up again and man, AoA looks AMAZING! I'd love to stop by there some time, but I just never find the time to do it during our trip! I will at some point, though. I always wish the food courts existed at the places we've stayed. Then again, having some awesome restaurants at the resorts is always a nice perk. But anyway... It looks super fun there!

Glad LeeAnne felt better, and in time for a delicious trip to Wilderness Lodge!! I am SO excited to stay there in September, I can't even begin to say. It's such a beautiful resort.

Artist Point looks amazing and I love how spot on it is with dining from the Pacific Northwest. Seattle is a pretty big foodie city, and some of these are items you'd see on the menus here. Your food looks amazingly good!

This update just got me so excited for September, yayayayay thanks! Also, your next trip is so clooooose!

I am SO glad that I read this update when I wasn't hungry, or else today was going to be an "eating four meals" kind of day!

I'm still trying to figure out that whole heirloom moonshine apple ketchup thing. I want to know what part of the ketchup the heirloom part applies to because I thought that was something that was only applied to heirloom plants, but it's right before the moonshine part, so maybe it's actually a moonshine term, which it could be because I don't know much about moonshine and I definitely didn't know it could be in ketchup! I just don't understand!

So here's my BRILLIANT idea: Disney needs to have interactive menus! Picture an iPad-esque touchscreen with the menu and all you have to if you want to learn more about an item that's super fancy is click on it and a little window will pop up and tell you more about it! Moonshine mystery solved!

THE WILDERNESS LODGE?!!?!?! FOR DINNER?!?!?! Thank the LORD you just posted the update.

WL is our DVC home and we stay there almost every trip. IT IS JUST SO AMAZING THERE.

You would think that I have to been to Artist Point by now with all of the times I have stayed at WL. WHY HAVEN’T I?!?!?!

P.S. My mom and I were trying to figure out where to eat on our last day in Disney in August. I suggested a few places and then I was like “Sci Fi! I have heard so many great reviews about it (aka yours) and I want to eat there!” So we made an ADR!!!!!! So excited to go since you RAVE about it all the time!!!

They probably brought the salmon out on a cedar plank. I don't know why places do that instead of just putting it on the plate. It's like they're trying to prove that it really was cooked on a cedar plank?

Yeah it was the cedar plank. I guess it's there way of saying "CHECK OUT OUR AWESOME CEDAR PLANK REALNESS!!!!!! WE ARE NOT MESSING AROUND!!!"

So glad you made it over to AoA to explore, it’s so awesome over there! We stayed there in Sept and I loved it! Especially the food court! It has so many healthier options, and just so many different options for your basic qs food, we loved eating there I also have to say, we never had to use our key cards to go into the gated pool….Ive read other people there the same week did, maybe we just lucked out?

Oh my god I am so excited for you guys for your new trip! I finally met Jess in Feb and she is just the biggest sweetheart ever! And obviously a Disney nut. This is why I love the disboards, it really brings all of us together, lets us all meet, the amount of friends I’ve gotten from here is amazing, and they’re all such great people! Depending on timing I might end up in Disney right around your trip!! I don’t know the dates, and probably wont up until a month or so before hand as it’ll be for auditions, but if I’m down there at the same time I’d be down for meeting up for a quick snack/ride!!

Yes, oh how I love it so. I plan on eating there as much as possible on our next trip. Gotta use up those QS credits and there is no better place to do so! (Except Wolfgang Puck Express).

I just can't get over lee Anne not getting dessert while on the dinning plain. I can totally understand being stuffed from the meal... And her not feeling 100%... But I think I would of still ordered and taken it to go. I mean a little cream brûlée or orange cannoli ... Or chocolate sculpture with drunkin cherry stuff for a late night snack back at the room.... Oh ya that's what I'm talkin about..

At least it was free dinning... If you calculate it out often unless u really try and maximize the food u pick (picking the more $$ dishes) the value of he ddp and what u would pay oop is close to the same if not more for the ddp. In her case with skipping desserts and stuff I think she would b better off paying oop.... If it wasn't free ddp. Myself even though I can calculate the cost of the plan vs what I'd pay oop.... I really like the ease of not having to worry about $ for food.... But I still try my best to maximize the value.

It's no big deal, really! I mean yeah, she didn't make the absolute most of it but we had Free Dining. I'd never even get the dining plan if it wasn't discounted (and neither would she), it's just too much at this point! So it was really fine. I don't think she wanted to carry a fancy dessert around the MK all night, probably would have ended up a pile of mush by the time we got back. Maybe if we had been going straight back to the resort she would have gotten one to go!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful meal at AP!!! We're going to be able to make dining reservations soon - and OF COURSE that is making our lineup!!!

That sounds like a really amazing dinner! And I just loooove the Wilderness Lodge, it is so pretty and cozy. The fact that they gave you Mickey straws at a signature restaurant is also just about the most amazing thing I have ever heard.

It really was! I loved that so much. Even though it's fancy place, there is no air of snootiness like at some of the more expensive places around here. Ahh Disney is just perfect in every way.

hahaha Thank you. I kind of rushed through those videos and wish I had spent more time making them better and I wish I had better footage. But it is just so annoying to film in Disney and I don't have a Mac so I have to use Windows Movie Maker. Oh well, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I still have to finish that project!

Day 4, Part 6 In Which I Am Literally A Ghost

Within minutes of boarding our chariot, we were pulling up to the Magic Kingdom!

The main reason for visiting MK tonight was for the magical night entertainment. However, we still had some time before Wishes, so I suggested we visit my old friend Master Gracey.

Prepare yourselves, because this resulted in my favorite picture of myself ever.

I had this goofy idea to pose in front of the Haunted Mansion gates looking terrified, as I'm sure many, MANY people have had.

But none of them came out as perfectly as this photo.

I honestly can't.

OK, let's break this down.

First of all, it's one of Lee-Anne's only pictures that came out blurry which I think is funny in itself because it proves some kind of supernatural interference. Second, I REALLY DO LOOK LIKE A FREAKING GHOST. I don't know what that pose even is that I'm doing.

Further proof that I died and became the 1,000th happy haunt when this picture was taken: my eyes are WHITE and GLOWING. Then there's the dude on the right who is also clearly a ghoul. Then there are the two red lights behind me and also the two white lights, obviously two sets of eyes belonging to specters of some kind. What I'm saying is, the mansion really is haunted and I AM THE 1,000TH HAPPY HAUNT.

It's just the best picture ever.

I really don't even know how it happened. As soon as Lee-Anne took it she started laughing and said, "Uh... um, we have to do another one." but I wanted to see how it came out. So I looked at it and decided no other photo needed to be taken. How could anything ever come out better than that? Honestly.

We headed into the mansion still giggling, and I tried to show her Mr. Toad on the way out, but it was too dark. I'll have to show her that and the wedding ring in the pavement next time!

Once we left my favorite ghostly retreat, I tried to weasel my way into New Fantasyland again, but it was not open. I was again very disappointed. If only I knew I would be there in two short days!

Instead, we went to see Mickey's PhilharMagic.

I've already written about how much I love this show in detail, so I'll just say here that it's one of my all time favorites and I was so happy to be back! I cried as usual.

It was almost time for Wishes, so we walked back over to the hub area.

We stood in front of the most beautiful thing in the world:

Much more than Fantasmic or Illuminations, I always get so excited to see Wishes. It's that frantic kind of excitement you usually only see kids have. I just can't help it. This time was no different!

In the minutes leading up to the show, there was a screaming baby directly behind us. We would have moved but it was the kind of thing where everyone was just in a tight giant crowd in front of the castle. I felt bad for the mom b/c it's not like she was in a restaurant where you can just pick the kid up and go outside to not disturb people. This is Main Street before Wishes, there's really nowhere to go unless you're willing to miss Wishes altogether, which obviously isn't an option for most. So Lee-Anne and I just exchanged "ugh" looks and hoped the baby would calm down!

Sure enough... the music swelled... Tinkerbell flew above the Kingdom... and the crying stopped.

Ah, Disney magic.

Sigh. It just makes me cry so much. I actually usually tear up when I even THINK about it. It's just that good.

After the show ended, we went to find a spot to sit down and wait for the Main Street Electrical Parade, and ended up sitting almost exactly where my mom and I had the previous December!

EXCITED!!

I always have to get one or more snacks to enjoy while waiting for the parade, and this time I went for my beloved Mickey Mouse Kid's Cone!

I got the cookies and cream, which is my usual:

They put it in this cup upside down, which is the first time they ever did that. Usually they only have 2 of those thick chocolate discs in there (for Mickey's two ears, obviously), but now that they flipped it into the cup, there were TONS! OH, I WAS IN CHOCOLATE DISC HEAVEN!

I realized that they had finally raised the price. I was expecting it since it was a total steal at $2.85 including tax. It's now 3.19 (unless they raised it again since then), which I still think is a good deal! Also, in addition to more chocolate discs, there was a bigger portion of ice cream (which I also noticed the 2nd time I got it at the end of the trip) so it's fine.

Pretty soon, we could see the parade of lights nearing us.

I'm not going to post as many photos as I usually do just cause I don't wanna have the same old stuff in every TR, but here are a few shots!

Okay, that was much more than a few! But I seriously narrowed it down from the tons I took.

Day 4, Part 7 In Which Vogue Magazine Never Looked This Good

At this point the Magic Kingdom was closing.

As you can see, people were headed out. So we joined them and got a bus back to Pop.

PSYCHE!!!!

You know I'm the annoying person who doesn't leave at closing time!

So instead we just let silliness take over and had photoshoots in various Main Street locations (but mostly the Emporium).

Duh.

Hmm. I don't know why I didn't pose in front of the Little Mermaid window display. Maybe that one didn't take correctly due to an O.D. in fabulousness? Who knows.

At one point, I suddenly remembered the old timey phone in that hat shop (I can't remember the name...) and I was like OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO HEAR THIS and we RAN across Main Street into the shop, where I made Lee-Anne pick up and listen to the conversation.

At first I think Lee-Anne was kind of skeptical, like WHY on earth is this girl dragging me across Main Street to pick up a phone right now? LOL. But as soon as she heard it she was like OH MY GOD.

I noticed that the display at the Confectionery was the CUTEST. Huey, Dewey, and Louie were DRESSED AS CAST MEMBERS IN THEIR MNSSHP UNIFORM! Ahh, I was like jumping up and down, I just thought it was SO CUTE!!!!

I hope they bring that back this year! SO ADORABLE.

We both loved these figurines in the Crystal Arts window.

Oh Disney merchandise, why can't you be a less expensive?! Sigh.

So then this happened.

Yeah I don't even know.

Lee-Anne went with a less mad kinda look.

They had all this really cool Haunted Mansion merchandise that was rather subtle, and I decided I absolutely had to model one of the hats looking like I was in for a very grim event at the Mansion.

No, I do not model professionally so stop with the offers!

Lee-Anne and I have this tradition of doing SERIOUS SNAPE FACES in pictures because we love and adore Severus Snape deeply.

We do this look everywhere, so of course we had to bring it to Disney.

I actually love that white fluffy hat - I should have purchased it! You can't tell, but it had Jack Skellington's face on the top of it.

We started trying on a bevy of mouse ears (of course I picked the most ridiculous ones possible) and were struggling with various angles trying to get photos, so a CM came over to us and offered to help!

It's a bit blurry cause she was a bit technologically challenged, but I love it anyway! She was such a sweet lady.

Then I started modeling on this couch.

Is this a photo from Vogue magazine, or is it just something we snapped in the Magic Kingdom? You decide.

Then I fell asleep.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I DON'T EVEN KNOW. WE ARE CREEPS.

Oh man, we had such a blast running around and doing all this. At some point, we started gliding down Main Street. Yes, GLIDING. As if on skates. We had no skates, but you really could not tell from the excessive gliding and careening going on. It was beautiful.

Eventually though, you really do have to exit the Magic Kingdom. Sigh.

It's hard to see, but the pumpkins have letters in them that say SEE YA REAL SOON. Yeah, it's perfect.

I smiled knowing that I really would see the MK real soon - THE NEXT TIME I WOULD ENTER THE PARK WOULD BE DURING MY FIRST EVER MICKEY'S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY THAT I HAD WAITED YEARS FOR!!!! OH MY GOD.
