LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Its been a few weeks since I posted my weigh-in...

Today's weight = 253
Total loss = 13.8
Days till cruise = 202

Had a couple of tough weeks wherein we had a few parties. I'm not making excuses but I did enjoy myself and don't regret any food choices I made. After all, I didn't gain!
 
After a year of proper diet and exercise yielding no change in weight, I finally went to my doctor for blood work.
Drum roll please...
I'm hypothyroid!
Very!
Which means medication will greatly help me lose weight. Once they get me to the proper dosage. Until then, I can expect fluctuation or even noticeable GAIN

Yeah. And my current dosage makes me want to sleep from about 10am on everyday despite sleeping 8-9 hours every night.
One week left until bloodwork and new med levels (probably).
In the meantime, I've been forcing myself to run and/or take a class at the gym for at least an hour everyday, eat properly and most importantly not weigh myself. Even ran my third half marathon.
I know my weight has been all over the place for the last five weeks (from fitting in my skinny jeans to barely fitting in sweats) and I've decided that knowing a number that I currently can't affect, let alone control really isn't helpful.
On the positive side, I'm much less confused and frustrated than I was. Now, if you don't mind me, I'm off for a run, maybe a little yoga and a whole lot of trying to force myself to stay awake.

Since I first checked in on this thread last month I am down another 7.6 pounds... and since January, I have dropped 2 pant sizes!

I just got a little lazy about recording all my food on My Fitness Pal but I have vowed to get serious again.

I'm also trying to do 2-3 walks a week consisting of at least 3 or 4 miles. I'm not running yet, never really have, but I hope I can in time.

Wow a weight loss thread for discruisers! Awesome! Well here we go I'm already about 3.5 months I'm to my pre cruise weightloss.

I'm a big guy 6'1" and before Christmas i weighed 349#. Through calorie counting assisted by my fitness pal and light exercise i am now down to 285# as of this morning.

I check weight each Sunday so that will be my next update!
 
I had a great day yesterday and I'm all set to hit BodyPump today.
Logged all my food and exercised and took my hypothyroid meds.
 
I'm down 4lbs this week so thats 12lbs total :) I'm using My Fitness Pal and it really is a great app. I've started walking, and doing Wii fit with EA Active. I am so determined to be 3 sizes smaller by my cruise in October! How is everybody else doing? x

That is such an awesome weight loss! Congrats to you, you should be so proud of yourself! I'm using MFP too and I find it really helpful. Great job woot you can do it! x

Great job on logging all your food and exercising I am trying harder but always find that there are little things I forget to add LOL What are you using to track your food and exercise? x
