Alex: Alex looked at the book questionably when Max held it up and looked around confused at the others. She really had no idea how Max could lose herself in a book since she has never done it but didnt say anything about that. "Oh well, I'm glad you are alright Max." Alex said while smiling nicely.

Max: Max snorted amusedly. Not only was it actually funny that these people cared or were pretending to care only when she disappeared, but Alex had reminded her of a girl from her last school, that Max had been in from last March to the end of the year. When Max realized other people noticed, she quickly said, "Unintentional inside joke from my last school."

River: River sighed. She didn't believe Max this time, she knew she wasn't talking about an inside joke. She felt a pit in her stomach like Max was laughing at her. She told herself it was just paranoia. River always thought people were talking about her. She wasn't sure how she was going to keep Max's secret if she was always worried about where she was and what she was doing. But she knew she had to, she promised Max and she wasn't going to break a promise.

Alex: Alex smiled and nodded her head,"Alright. Do you want to come back down with us? I finished my homework so if you want I can help you."

Max: Max's smile faded and she was suddenly very interested in her mary janes. "No no, I, er, wouldn't want to trouble you............any further than I already have. I can, uh, figure out the work later on my own. Anyway, there's probably other people who would be more deserving and more needing of your help," she said to Alex. Inside, she was worried about River. She knew River would be loyal to her, and would keep her promise of keeping her secret. That was not the problem. The problem was, Max was beginning to suspect everyone else didn't trust her like River did. The girl was paranoid that people were beginning to question her, and if people were questioning Max aloud or in private, she did not know how long either of them could operate in secrecy.

Daniel: Daniel blinked. Something didn't seem right about all this. He couldn't describe it, he just felt it all seemed odd. Max's shoulder cut. Max's distance from everyone. Max making trouble in class. Max disappearing on them. How tired she and River seemed this morning. The millions of sides Max has gone through today. The awkwardness between Toby and Max. He knew they led strange lives, they were at a boarding school for teenagers with powers, but there was something deeper happening here that Daniel just couldn't put his finger on. He wore a skeptical look as these thoughts ran through his head.

River: River gave one last look at Max and then stepped away from her joining the rest of the group and standing right in front of Daniel.

Alex: Alex let her smile drop and pursed her lips before looking at the rest of the group, then back at Max. She didn't know why Max was just so distant and.....different. Alex didn't mean to always leave her alone but it always seems like Max doesn't want anyone around her. To get close to her. Alex was worried that maybe there was something going on but quickly ignored the thought. "You didn't trouble us, and if you're sure you don't need my help I suppose that's alright. Don't be afraid to come get me whenever you need any help at all. I'm always here."

Max: Max raised a quizzical eyebrow, then gave a small, amused smile. In an amused voice to show she wasn't being too serious, she said, "A few minutes ago when you guys were yelling at me it seemed like I had troubled you somewhat." Then Max sat back down on the stool. She paused and added, "Thanks." She wasn't sure why she was thanking Alex, she wasn't going to take her up on her offer ever if she could, but it would have been rude and suspicious if she had not. Then Max found her place and returned to reading.

Daniel: Daniel glaced from River to Alex to Max to everyone else and back to River and Alex again. He shrugged at them. Max was Max. But something was up, and Daniel knew it. Now if only he knew how to figure out what exactly was wrong with this picture.

River: "it's fine Max" River said in a serious voice before turning and starting to walk back down to the first floor.

Daniel: Daniel held his tongue and followed River, even though he wanted to ask her and talk to her about Max. It would be rude to pry, but he was beginning to sense that somethings in this school were kind of wrong, Max being the biggest.

Toby: Toby turned and followed Daniel and River. He didn't understand Max, but he wanted to. He knew somethings about her, but some of what she did just didn't make sense. But he did understand losing oneself in a book, he had done it before and lost whole days when he hadn't noticed the time passing.

River: River continued walking with her eyes straight ahead and her lips pursed. She felt emotions she didn't know how to explain.

Alex: Alex smiled and nodded her head,"You're welcome." She sighed when Daniel shrugged and made her way back down the stairs where the group was.

Jack: Jack smirked as Alex walked in and crossed his arms,"Find your little freak friend?" His smirk only grew when he saw her glare but ignore him and he let out a quiet chuckle sitting down in a seat.

River: River heard Jack and shot him an intense glare saying sharply "Her name is Max! You have no right to call her anything else!" then she shrunk bak into her normal self sighing and dropping her head onto her arms which rested on top of her knees.

Daniel: Daniel looked around at the others. MKax was a puzzle, that was for sure. Daniel glared at Jack for a moment when he heard him, then he walked over to River and sat down beside her. He sat quietly for a bit. He wasn't going to say anything. He'd listen if River needed it, and would be willing to discuss the strangeness of the school if anyone brought it up.

Jack: Jack rolled his eyes and muttered,"Whatever." He then leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes while ignoring the glares of any others he was getting.

Alex: Alex sat down on the sofa and continued to glare at Jack even though he wasn't looking at her. She couldn't help but feel incredibly angered that he thought everyone else was beneath him and clenched her fist in her lap.

River: River looked up at Daniel when he sat down, she tried smiling but couldn't make herself, she felt so helpless. She knew it was probably obvious that she knew something about Max that others didn't but she didn't know what to say. She was hoping that others would just ignore it. But for the first time in her life, at this school people didn't ignore her.

OOC: Night!

Ooc: Night!

Alex: Alex finally tore her eyes from Jack and looked down at her lap, where her hands were placed with her thumbs moving in circles around each other. She bit her lip and started humming again quietly hating the silence that was around the group.

Toby: Toby walked through the silent room and sat next to Alex. He reached into his bag and flipped through the papers not really looking for anything. He whispered quietly to no one in particular "someone needs to say something."

OOC: night Wings!

Toby: Toby laughed. Leave it to Alex to not only break the silence, but to break the silence with what could possible be the most ridiculous word possible. He stopped looking in his bag and sat up. "thanks" he said laughing.
