I have looking at this website, has anyone ever used Davids Vacation Club Rentals ? If so, good? bad??
Please let me know
I was looking at AK Villas club level
also can someone tell me the difference between club and concierge? is there a difference, and whats the perk to that versus the Savannah view?
Thanks in advance
:goodvibes

I've heard good things about David's. very reputable.
I always thought Club & Concierge level are the same :confused3. But I've never stayed DVC.

david is a DIS sponsor and i've heard good things but not used him personally. he acts as a broker between DVC owners and renters.

club=concierge.

AKV has the only club villas in the DVC system. for club level, there are only 5 lockoff 2BRs on the 6th floor of AKL/jambo house - that means there are 5 2BRs that break down into 5 studios and 5 1BR villas - if someone books a club studio, then there would be 4 2BRs and 1 1BR left. due to that severe limitation in supply, they tend to be booked up 11 month in advance.

the views for club level are higher up and tend to be obstructed somewhat by the roof. IIRC, 3 club level villas are savanna view and 2 are pool view.

club level gives you access to the concierge lounge for light snacks and drinks + daily housekeeping (most DVC stays are more limited on housekeeping) with daily turndown service + access to the sunrise safari.

savanna view villas have a view of the animals - in jambo house/AKL, the villas are on the 5th floor and all of kidani is villas (so lower floors are available).

I too am looking into whether or not I want to try renting points from there. I did check the better business burea and found 1 complaint in the last 3 yrs although I could not find details of the complaint. I believe I read it was rectified but I am not positive. Without the details I took it with a grain of salt. He did have an A+ rating. I also found a thread with accalades about his positive customer service and then another thread about a poor exchange between him and one person. I worry about putting all the money up so far in advance verses a regular reservation through disney or our TA.
I am trying to find as much as i can about his business to decide if it is right for us.

I used David's DVC last summer to book a last minute deal at SSR. It was very easy and I had zero issues. They are very good about communication and always emailed me very quickly about the reservation. Give it a shot! :thumbsup2

We have used him and he was great. We had a minor issue but wasn't his fault. Turns out when we did the 3 way call with member services they completely messed up my last name so when I went to check in we weren't in the system. After freaking out for a minute I just called him and he happened to be in Disney the same time as us. He took care of it! Great guy! He even called my room later to make sure we were in all right!

I'm so happy to hear thatbother people recommend him. I was thinking of using him but wasn't sure... Now I think I will give it a shot

We have used Davids and would do so again. It was very easy. You have to be sure of your dates and ability to go. Paying up front is tough but then it is one less thing to pay for later. I understand you can get insurance but we never did.

I have turned points over to David's to rent out to others. It was very easy and I had no issues whatsoever. I was very pleased with the way he handled things for both parties...points owner and the person renting the points.

We used his services last year for a some what last minutes trip in February. And I used his services again this year for a trip in October to AKL. Both times everything has been great. My only issue was that the person assisting us, waited till the next morning to book and we lost out on 3 days Club level (we were splitting between Sav. view and Club). This was a person in training and I don't think they realized the necessity of taking care of it asap. So beyond that, great experience and I do plan on using David's again.

I used Davids in December 2012 for a stay at OKW. Loved the whole experience. Will do it again if I can't rent off a friend for less. His customer service is A plus.

I've used David's service on a few of our vacations and highly recommend him! He is professional and answered all my questions with prompt replies. We had a few unusual issues with things, and David's people gave us great ideas on how to handle things. The only downside is that you have to pay up-front, and the money is non-refundable/non-transferable. I've booked 11 months in advance and he worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted. When we got our flight info, all I had to do was give it to David and he handled ME for us. We are planning on using David for our next vacation...and pretty much every vacation hereafter! We have had nothing but memorable, easy experiences with him!

We used David's for our Aulani stay last summer and they were great. They got our room for us on the 1st day it was available and contacted me immediately. Then when Disney changed some numbers in their computer and our reservation number changed, they tracked down the issue and got an answer for me on a Friday afternoon after 5:00. I would use them again in a heartbeat and fully intend to.

We also used David's about 1 1/2 years ago to stay at AKL in a savannah 1 bedroom suite. It was a beautiful room and a great experience! I would highly recommend it if staying DVC is of interest to you. The rates are definitely great compared to the Deluxe resort prices and the customer service and response time was what you would hope to expect.

WOW!! Thank you all for the great replies, I am excited about the idea of being able to stay with the DVC, I will (based on yall reviews) def try him out!! THANK YOU AGAIN !! I knew the Dis would know :) :cool1:

I am a huge david's fan, but just remember the limits of dvc generally. You have to book well ahead of time (typically more than 7 months out, and sometimes the full 11 month booking window for peak times, with "peak" usually meaning both typical wdw busy times, and also some "off" times that are unqiuely busy for a particular resort or dvc generally - such as beach club during october, due to food and wine festival)

I've never rented from David's but have sold my points to them. Can't say enough great things about the staff!! Such a wonderful group of dedicated people.

I booked a reservation in Jan for a stay at AKV this upcoming Dec with David's. So far, so good. I will be adding the DDP later this year and feel confident that will go just as smoothly as everything else has gone so far. :thumbsup2

Booked with them for AKL. great deal and totally easy/professional/awesome experience in every way. Only way I'll stay at deluxe now. The only negative is that you do need to book early, you have to pay 100% up front i think and it's nonrefundable. So you just have to be sure of your dates.

Another happy David's customer here. Can't say enough good things about how well everything went using him!
