Is there a transfer limit?

I've been thinking about buying DVC via resale for a while now. Quick question about transferring in points INTO my account - is there a limit? My parents want to have a family reunion in WDW in two years. I'm wondering if I can book everyone's rooms via my account and transfer in enough points for the four families for a week? Or if they cap it?

You are only allowed 1 transfer per use year. So, if you needed a lot of points, be sure you get enough.

someone looking to rid of a lot of points at once is going to LOVE you!!

Except for the limit on the number of transfers allowed (one per Use Year), there is no limit on the number of points that may be transferred in that single transfer.

Good luck! :)

Actually, we ran in to this as well... My parents have points, my sister had points, and we have points. On the last vacation, we needed to do multiple transfers, and it was allowed... They even left a clarification note on our account, unlimited transfers are allowed between family members.

In this situation you'd be limited to one transfer per UY but you can transfer in and bank (but not borrow) points. So you could do an advanced transfer then bank those points AND transfer in to the UY of the planned trip. Then you could aggregate 3 years worth of your own points with banking/borrowing.

You might consider buying a slightly larger contract than you normally would be looking at otherwise. If you rob the contract of 3 years worth of points, it'd take you quite a few years to get caught back up. Of course depending on your intended usage, buy in and the size of your family trip; you might need to consider doing both in tandem. Anytime family/friends are involved I'd also suggest you be VERY cautious about potential stress, commitment, unexpected cancelations and the like. Sometimes getting yours and having he other simply rent can be the best option.
