Avatar Land will be amazing

Oz! Ideas evolve, and IMO this is a no brainier. The potential for Oz theming far exceeds Avatar, and I'm sure there's a lot of people considering whether that's the direction to take this new park.

They two ideas actually have a lot in common, but Oz has WAY more potential.

~Too late! I have already claimed OZ for Epcot's Future World. OMG... the Emerald City, Yellow Brick Road, Ruby Slippers and think about the shows that could compliment OZ! Something like Wicked would be fabulous!!! Disney put the OZ garden in Epcot to let me know, they loved my idea! They're working on it.

~In addition to Avatarland, Disney should explore a land themed around Merlin, the greatest wizard of all!!! Not to mention, the dragons!

Just got back from a nice vacation in FL. I was visiting a good friend of mine saying avatar land will have 3 attractions. One will be a thrill ride like kind of like soarin. He said think of the moving stage with seats they use at KA inside of mgm grand and a 3D theatear. Others will be a boat ride and a interactive area. Anyone else have any thoughts

~Wow, Mr. Morgan.... I would never think of doing such a thing. I am a *good* bad girl! Honestly, I was not aware of any plans to incorporate Merlin the Wizard into AK. All I can say to that is great minds.... LOL.

Was it here that I heard about Disney developing a sensor that they could put in the soil under a live plant that will " know" which part of the plant is being touched? Somewhere I heard this. They will produce music and lighting effects ...I'll have to search...

~I don't understand this, but I totally respect your opinion. Hopefully, once more details are released, you'll start to come around and embrace the concept a little more. I know you love AK, so do I, but AK could use a few more attractions. We'll see.

~Yes, I agree. But, the funny thing is this won't even matter to the majority of theme park guests! No one is thinking about "conservation" when they're on Everest, Kali or Dinosaur!

As much as I don't look that foward to avatar land, and many people aren't too excited about it, I'm excited to see the technology. You know disney is going to make it advanced as possible, and the theming will be great! I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I think this is the point all of the pros are trying to make-- the concept behind avatar has so many incredible possibilities--- things that will be NEW...

~YES!!! I totally agree, beer dave. I just can't take anymore clam-mobiles, really. And, I heard Ariel's hair falls off all the time and the ride has already suffered it's share of significant down time. I hope it's not true, but that's what I've read! Please, Disney no more, lol.

I just dont think aliens fit in with the theme myself

plus, i did not really care for the movie. Old story and dull characters

Buts not to say the attractions won't be fun. Just wished they did something else

My hope and expectation is this will be done right (if they ever get started lol)

Avatar land is not what is needed. Expand on what they have now with animals and attractions. Austria would be a great addition to the park with many opportunities for new animals and rides.

Im sure Australia will come eventually. Im not sure more animals is the answer right now just my opinion

I know that AVATAR is an oppurtunity to close off Africa, Rafiki, and parts of Asia off at 5:00 etc, and keep the park open much later.

An animal based area has a lot of expenses over time, where ride/show based attractions, have up front costs, but the cost to maintain the attraction over time is a bit more palatable.
