:grouphug: thanks to each and every one of you for your continued love, prayers and support! It means the world to us.

25 cm of snow , creeping up to 30 cm fell today! (Near Edmonton Alberta, Canada) such mayhem on the roads today! Thankful we are home safe and sound from our errands, but gee I would love to see the end of snow and cold! Thinking about Disney every day, can't wait to get back to my happy place and hopefully bright blue skies in California next Feb! I could use some Disney happiness  's to you all!

Marie ugh this winter has been the Pitts! We are hearing talk of a storm next Monday :sad1:

MM glad you have encouraging news about DH job!

KOOK Sucks having to wait longer to know what is going on.

Good Morning to All of my RC Family. Bright and sunny here with some snow still on the ground but boy is it Cold out today Brrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm glad y'all made it home ok. Stay safe and warm.

Breaking news today: It sounds like the furlough notices are delayed two weeks. That's good news. Maybe they will use this time to come up with a well reasoned plan. A girl can hope! ::yes::

Hopefully they can come up with a well reasoned plan. Of course, it would have been better if they had already come up with one.

Happy Friday to all of you and I hope everyone is well. pasTASTIC was to have dropped a shift, so I hope that means she has a less stressful weekend. Spring Break starts after school today, but I noticed those white flakes in the forecast for Monday:confused3

Happy Friday to you as well. I hope you have a less stressful weekend and Spring Break.

Yes, the House passed the Senate's budget (a whole week early!) and while it doesn't stop furloughs/sequestration, it allows more flexibility in how the DoD implements the forced cuts. They are even suggesting now that some DoD intelligence agencies will be exempt. It's ironic because we were supposed to have left on vacation yesterday and couldn't since it was to be 'furlough announcement day,' etc... which by the afternoon was postponed, as you said, by two weeks:confused::upsidedow

I'm sorry y'all weren't able to leave on vacation. Being frustrated by the government.

Good Friday morning to you as well. Stay warm!!

I know this is easier said than done but try to relax. I'm sure the money will be there soon .... government and banks just seem to move so SLOW sometimes. Unless of course they want OUR money ....
Wookie-It has to be so hard to be patient, especially when there is nothing you can do. Fingers and toes crossed you get your refund, soon! Heck, a little pixie dust can't hurt. Lets give that a try. pixiedust:

Thank you both. Yes it is easier said than done to try and relax about something like this. Luckily, I don't have to try to do that anymore. It pains me to say it, but the DH was right. I was getting myself all stressed about nothing. I checked out account this morning when I woke up at 3:30-ish this morning. The money is there now. I guess I just assumed that when they IRS said it had sent the money, it would automatically show up in our checking account. I think to celebrate, we'll take our boys to the dine in theatre and eat some fried pickles. Today ladies, is one Fan-freaking-tastic Friday!!

Luckily, the DH will be in the office today, so we can get on Priceline and get us a San Antonio hotel.

TGIF!! :cool1:

Wookie, it's partytime!! :dance3: Yay for getting your tax return!! Hope you score a great rate on the San Antonio hotel!

Sheila keep thinking warm thoughts and the POLY...hopefully the storm will fizzle out....:flower3:

Marie doesn't the weather gods know it is Spriing? :upsidedow Happy you made it home safely. Continued good thoughts to you and your family....and on a snowy day its good to be California dreamin'....

Pas, Here's to a better weekend for you...

Melissa, you know where to find us when it's a little less hectic.. We miss you too!

Jen, our kids here get 3 days of spring break....they go M-W next week. Wish I could sit around in my jammies on the weekend, but have work to do...ordered carpet yesterday :yay: and it is not good being a pack rat... so have to get my butt in gear and do something about it!

Kook, Ginny, MM, Melissa.... keeping good thoughts for you and your familes on the sequester issue..:goodvibes

Kook, any dates and resort possibilities for a summer trip? :flower3:

MM, congrats on knocking off another test!! :cool1: Hopefully you will get the news today on your potential raise…. And that is great news for your DH … both on the sequester and the raise. And you have Disney in 18 days!! :cheer2:

waving hello :wave2: to all the RC peeps!!

----------------------------------------------------

Hi Jenny! :wave2: Sheila! :wave2: Dani :wave2: Linda :wave2: Who did I miss?????

I am still behind but I have at least read the current stuff! I will catch up with the rest eventually. Hoping to camp out at home tonight with my feet up and either a cold beer or glass of wine!

Hey Guys!!!

So nice to see you checking in basketlacey!

Yay Wookie! - Now you are all set with your return!!!

JanetB - 27 days, but I wish it was 18!!!!! Got my Photopass+ today!

Well, I did not hear about my raise today, it will be early next week. It's ok, I'm just happy to be getting one.

DH's raise is automatic starting 3/24, and though the furlough thing is still up in the air, he has taken care of it by requesting and getting approved for active duty military days on each of the furlough days...so, even if the furlough goes through, we won't miss out on any money. So that's good. :goodvibes

I still hope that they (our gov't) just figures this all out, because it is so unfair to all of the hard workers, who might not have options like my DH. :sad2: It's also not good for morale on his base, you know?

Anyway, it's Friday, I've got an hour and a half left of work, and then family game night tonight! :yay:
Although, I have a feeling DD8 is going to pick Monopoly...:headache:

Good thing I bought some beer! :drinking1

Hi RCers: Time to right THAT wrong of no Poly CL for Mom ... we are booked at Poly CL TPV in 3 weeks. Not long, just 2 nights. But we are looking forward to new rooms, Wishes from our patio or the lounge (I prefer to hear Wishes), a relaxed regiment of MK, DtD and Poly only, and hopefully still moderate temps for mom. Since her birthday falls in June and she can't take the heat :faint:, we've done her "birthday present" trip in April for the last few years and it has worked out quite well. She is such a spoiled Disney princess. princess: I know she only wants Poly so she can LOVING GAZE at her favorite CR across the Seven Seas Lagoon. :joker:

I am thinking of all our furlough-affected RCers. Ugh to the waiting... and waiting... and waiting. :rolleyes1

Have fun!! This time next week, we'll be in San Antonio with my three men. I can't wait to get away with them!!

Well, I did not hear about my raise today, it will be early next week. It's ok, I'm just happy to be getting one.

Hopefully, you'll find out about it on Monday. I hope it's even bigger than you think it's going to be.

It's a good thing your DH not only had the option, but realized he did, and was able to get it in place ahead of time.

I hope they do get it figured out. Honestly, it should have already been figured out. I just think politicians stay in office too long and they forget what it's like to live pay check to paycheck, I don't care what their political party is. After all, they just need to be elected once, and they get a paycheck for the rest of their lives (something else I think is bs). I'll get off my soap box now.

Have a fun game night!! I hate playing Monopoly with my DH. He will loan me money, until all of his properties are as built up as you can get them.

Sounds like a great trip you have planned!!

I thought waiting to find out about my tax return was hard, but I know it is nothing compared to those waiting to find out about the furloughs. I can't even imagine that.

Yay Wookie! - Now you are all set with your return!!!

Thanks y'all. It has kept me a big 'ol ball of stress. If I could transport us all to WDW tonight, I would buy everyone a spiced Dole Whip Float to thank y'all for all the support. Now I just have to wait for the DH to be finished working. His parents had errands to run today, so they had the DH in the office with the bil. To celebrate finally getting the money, I drove to the Cheesecake Factory and got us a to-go lunch of their chicken and shrimp gumbo and a slice of Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake. For dinner, I'll have the left over, because let's face it, there is no way I can eat the entire gumbo in one sitting. I would need a second stomach for that. I did order or new luggage from Overstock and never saw a place to do express or quicker shipping. I didn't notice until after I completed the order that it won't get here until 3/29, and we should be in San Antonio by then. Oh well, at least we'll have it for our WDW trip. Who knows, maybe it'll come early.

ETA.....
I almost forgot....

OUR WDW TRIP IS 100% PAID OFF!!!!:dance3::dancer::dance3::banana:

The DH and I just finished up with almost all the bookings for our San Antonio trip. We didn't get the one we wanted, but I think we got a good one that we'll be just as happy with. We were able to book the Grand Hyatt San Antonio (which is right by the mall), for $92 per night. In total, it's half the price of the room we were going to book over looking the Alamo. Right now, the room is paid for, Sea World tickets are paid for, and I just need to get the movie tickets bought. Then I will have everything paid for that I can pay for ahead of time.

Now Monday, I just have to get the oil changed in the minivan, get the tires and all the fluids check, it vacuum it out and get it washed (well I'll wait until the day of to get it washed). The boys still don't know we're going out of town. I'm keeping an eye on the San Antonio weather and the high is supposed to be in the low 80's, which looks like we'll still be in jeans. Now for this week to fly by!!

Only 4 more days and I'll be at my 7 month booking date!!!! :yay: I should be able to book the first week of my trip for F&W then wait a week for another 7 month window and book the rest of the trip!!!!

Now where should I stay????? :confused3

OKW: cheap points = longer stay ... love the boat to DTD, the music at the pool

AKV: my favorite pools of all the resort pools, animals, lobby, reasonable point cost

BWV or BCV: F&W so really hard to get ..... I did luck out and get 4 nights at BWV last year during F&W so you never know

VWL: it's just home!

Any ideas????

GG All are good choices with BWV & BCV being the most convienent for F&W. If you really love VWL you just a boat ride away from the monorail and Epcot, I'd probably go with VWL :)

So, I book with Disney, for a stay in late October early November for the WL, but some people here suggested the *** site, and I was quoted a price for the same stay at the Poly, for roughly 267 a night. I'm weighing the options if I want to stay at the Wilderness (CY View), or Poly (Standard)

Have you stayed at either WL or Poly before? Hard to pass up a great deal like that on the Poly.

Happy Saturday Everyone! :yay:

Happy Saturday Everyone! :yay:

I stayed at the Polynesian last year as part of my Graduation present and loved it, especially the convenience of getting around. I stayed at the Wilderness when I was younger, and despite me LOVING and I MEAN LOVING the theme of the Pacific Northwest, I just have to jump at that Poly deal.

I booked rack rate for the Wilderness in October, and it was going to cost roughly 400 per night, and if my room was eligible for the normal 20% discount, I was looking at 320 a night.

So, I had to take DD6 to a birthday party today and while I was gone DH got busy doing this
