May Announcement?

"But have you experienced Carsland? I am not a fan of the movies either, but Carsland is one of the most amazing, immersive environments I have seen in a Disney park. Even people who have never seen the movies would probably enjoy Carsland."

yeah im not crazy about the cars movies but man what an experience....i keep reading insiders from other boards (namely wdwmagic) that some form of cars land is coming and like others have said capital spending involves cruise ships dvc etc....slowing down spending from 2 billion to 1.5 billion is quite possible.. i actually look for avatar and carsland to start construction this year..avatar by summer and cars land by fall

Josh on easywdw (love him) alluded to a big announcement the first week in May regarding a DHS expansion - is it Cars Land??

I sure hope not. I want something original. Star Wars land or maybe different PIXAR stuff like an Incredibles ride or Monsters Inc Coaster

speculation and arguments about blogs aside...
If it *is* Cars Land, I fully expect it to be fantastic. The atmosphere of the Radiator Springs area of the Art of Animation resort is in my opinion ( MY opinion) phenomenal. I have no doubt that they will do CL or Avatarland or Disney Springs, or what have you, in the right way.

I completely agree. In a business sense, WDW already has most of CarsLand at Art of Animation Resort and it would be a waste to duplicate the success of CarsLand in DLR, because that would pull away from their business.

We need Star Wars Land. Their focus is to bring something strong enough to compete with Universal & HP.

If they remove LMA and Backlot any maybe one or two backstages building then the whole Carsland as built in DCA would fit in that area. I have seen Photoshop markups of the area that demonstrate this.

I haven't yet seen Carsland. Is it at Disneyland? I've only ever been to Disneyland once and I much prefered Disney World. I am looking to make a trip back there when it becomes cheaper for me to rent a car. :lmao: I just find Lightning McQueen and Maider (sp?) extremely annoying... Though, Carsland is probably more than just them if I assume correctly.

I agree, well said! Disney always goes to great lengths to make everything amazing. After learning a little bit more about Carsland, I guess it's still enjoyable even if you didn't enjoy the movies. So, if it is Carsland, I'm sure it will be great! Though, I'd still prefer a Star Wars Land LOL! :lmao:

Not coming from any special knowledge, but putting together everything that I've read and heard, I would say that yes, RADIATOR SPRINGS is coming, but possibly as an expansion to Pixar Place. That would be where Catastrophe Canyon is now. The Light Motor Action show would be replaced by Star Wars Land including Star tours 2, which leads to my next thought: Is Echo Lake going to be affected by this overhaul? Considering that the only other major attraction is the 23 year old Indiana Jones show...

This makes me wonder if that's why they are doing the Guardians of the Galaxy film. None of the characters fall under the character families used by Universal. If the film is a hit, they (presumably) are free to create an attraction.

My thoughts exactly!

honestly hoping for a Cars Land AND as Star Wars Land, NOT HAVING both in that park would feel like a waisted opportunity. It would just fit so well IMVHO

It would also make the park go from must skip to must do on my annual trip to Disney World

I agree if both would come to DHS is would definitely be a must do

Am I the only one still hoping for a Monsters Inc. Coaster? *hopeful*

And I absolutely, completely NEED Star Wars Land.

I would love a monster inc coaster but it's very unlikely

.............................

I am all for a Monster Inc ride but not until we get a Star Wars Land and a Carsland first LOL

THe Monster Inc ride in Tokyo is awesome ( I know its not a coaster but more like Buzz light year )

I don't think it would be unlikely.

I think the fact that Carsland is, as many have speculated over the past few months, going to be scaled down to possibly just Radiator Springs, to make way for the Star Wars Land replacing the Backlot, then I would think that the Monsters Inc coaster could still go into Soundstage 1 next to Toy Story.

Honestly, I'm not a huge Cars fan, but I understand the immersive experience Carsland offers. We just visited AoA and walked over to the Cars area, it was great!

But this got me thinking... DCA got Carsland, We got NF. I may be wrong, but I feel that was our WDW expansion in regards to DL's.
You don't see CA trying to make room for Beasts Castle and Storybook Circus, or The Seven Dwarves' Mine Train.

I can't imagine Carsland in WDW. Right now, that's one of the factors that brings so many guests to DCA.

I don't know... just an honest speculation... Be nice ;)
