Here Come The Magic Bands!

Still not sure how I feel about the Magic Band concept but it sure will be exciting to have that box show up on my doorstep!

How do the bands fit......will they be super adjustable for small wrist up to really big wrists. Hope they are comfortable.

I'm not a fan of the magic band idea at all....and those are hideous!

I think they look great. We are supposed to be getting the option, eventually of [paying to] customize the bands. I have no problem at all with the RFID bands.

This is pretty cool I think. Like a PP said, we get a souviner before we leave? Take my money! :rotfl2:

I'm thinking that this could go a step further for those of us staying on-site. We have the bands, which is now your KTTW in our possession before we leave the house so we could, in theory, get an email or a text the day of our trip that says "Room 123 in building X is ready for you" and bypass the check-in counter altogether. You get off the bus or out of your car and head straight to your room, drop off your stuff and start your trip! :thumbsup2

I'm not too fond of the "bracelet" concept, chances are I'll end up keeping mine in my bag still...I don't really want to be wearing that all day for a week straight

Love the presentation, however...

It's a good thing that they appear small enough to fit in my pocket or in my wife's purse.

No way we want to be wearing one of those around the parks all day.

I'm just afraid of somehow losing it. ={ crazy things always seem to happen to me. But they look pretty neat. Maybe once I use one ill change my mind.

This appears to be a picture taken where the AP ticket exchange is happening. They had various displays and this was one of them. So, if you're at Epcot anytime between now and when they close up shop over in the Odyssey building, you can go in and take a look,

Random questions

1. Are these waterproof and/or washable? If wearing for 10 days in the FL heat, they will get a bit yucky. Can you wear them to waterparks and swim with them?

2. Will we get a color choice?

3. How adjustable are these? My teen's wrist is very, very tiny but they'd probably send an adult sized band.

How awesome is THAT! Something to get my family pump'd when they come in the mail...very cool idea.

1 - Something I wanted to know and forgot to ask.
2 - I was told last night that you can choose your color and also have a name added to it (at least AP holders will be able to). I think they had 7 colors.
3 - They have holes like a watch band to adjust the size.

I don't understand sending them before you get there, what if you forget them?

I guess they would treat it like any lost tickets or room keys. It will take a bit of extra time out of your day to replace them but it wouldn't prevent you from being able to check in and enjoy the rest of your trip.

I imagine that the reason for sending them early would be along the lines of what squirrel4569 said. Imagine being on your Magic Express bus and getting a text that your room is ready for when you get off. Skipping the check in line completely would be kind of nice, especially when you arrive via DME and everyone else is checking in as well.

Does anyone know if these will only be sent to guests with packages only or will every guest staying onsite get their Magic Bands ahead of time?
