For those who have cruised on the wonder/ magic and the fantasy/ dream, which do you prefer? Are the newer ships bigger and better all around? Or does it not matter which ship you get because they all are wonderful? :)

All four of the Disney ships are wonderful. I have been on all of them. However, only the two newer ships (Fantasy and Dream) have the aquaduck which my kids love. Also, the adult pool areas on the newer ships are superier in my opinion. I enjoy the bars on the newer ships more because they are themed better. The Champagne Bar on the Fantasy is beautifully decorated. I could sit in there for hours enjoying the decor - and of course drinking champagne :goodvibes. I will say that I prefer the Cove Cafe coffee bar on the Wonder because it is two stories and provides lots of seating and wonderful views on the 2nd floor. The newer ships only have a one story cove cafe. Also, the theatres on the newer ships are two stories and I love sitting in the balcony section on the 2nd level - great view of the stage! The restauarants on all four ships are great; however, they only have the NEW animation show on your 2nd night in Animators Palate on the two newer ships. I really enjoyed that dinner show. If you like to view and purchase photos on the cruise, the newer ships have the photos for each stateroom stored in containers that look like books and the books are conveniently stored in what resembles library book shelves. It is alot easier to look at your photos that way then how they do it on the older ships. They just have walls of photos that you have to look through until you find your photos taken from the previous day, which is very time consuming. All of the shows on all of the ships are fantastic so you can't go wrong with any of them. Bottom line is that all the ships are great and you will have a great time on any of them.

Thanks! The cruise I am looking to book is September will be on the fantasy. Sounds like you can't go wrong here.:)

I've also been on all four ships and my ranking is:
1 - Fantasy
2 - Wonder
3 - Dream
4 - Magic

I agree with purplejewels comments regarding the Fantasy. It is an amazing ship! Loved everything about it. The Wonder is 2nd for me because I think she's beautiful, I prefer the decor over the Magic. It seems that with the 2 classes of ships, Disney made improvements with the 2nd ship.

I could go on, but, when all is said and done - I'd be happy to be on any of them! Especially right this minute when winter does not seem to want to go away...:confused3

We have been on 3 of the ships (we haven't been on the Wonder). Our preference is the Magic. We like the classic ships better. Our 2nd best is the Fantasy partly because of the 7 days, which gives the entire cruise a calmer feel (IMO) and the addition of Satellite Falls is fantastic and a great place to go for peace and quiet. We have been on the Dream 3 times and each time I feel like I need a vacation after we get off. The shorter schedule doesn't give me enough time to unwind and everyone on the ship seems stressed to fit everything in.

The Magic is our favorite ship not only in the Disney fleet but of the other four lines we have cruised. There is something about her classic lines that is also carried by her crews' classy attitude.

Been on all 4 and you can't wrong with any of them. Magic holds a special place in my heart as we were on her Maiden Voyagle and was also our first cruise. Been on the Magic the most.

Fantasy will blow you away. Just got off our 5th Dream cruise last month and love the big ships for different reasons. Still love the classics ships as they are more intimate all around.

Been on 3

Magic is my fav.

Wonder is great

If I never set foot on the Dream again I can be very happy. Subpar to every ship I have been on

We've only been on the Wonder and the Dream, but I preferred the Dream by quite a bit. The Wonder was a lovely ship, but felt a little worn when we cruised (Jan 2012) and for some reason felt more crowded, even though it was bigger. The Oceaneer's Club was smaller than I expected and seemed a bit dark to me and the nursery was a bit disappointing as well. I also loved the Midship Detective Agency on the Dream. Animator's Palate was much better on the Dream and we didn't care for Parrot Cay. And the Nemo's Reef splash area had no comparison to that dinky little water play area on the Wonder. I really felt that for young families (our kids were 1 and 3 the first cruise, 3 and 4 the 2nd) the Dream had much more to offer. I loved the new ship so much I'm now trying to save up for a seven day on the Fantasy!

That being said, I've been on 7 cruises in my life, and the Dream and Wonder rank number 1 and 2 by a long margin, and I'd go on either again in a heartbeat!

The Wonder is smaller than the Dream, not bigger. Unless you mean your stateroom specifically? Those are bigger on the Wonder category to category in standard rooms.

Oops, sorry, my coffe hadn't quite kicked in yet. Yes, I meant that the Wonder felt more crowded to me, even though it was a smaller ship with fewer people.

I prefer the Wonder over the Fantasy. If I never sailed on the Dream again I could deal with that. The restaurants and adult areas are better on the Fantasy but the ship is too big and felt a lot more crowded. The Wonder has better service and more activities going on, at least on the two cruises I have done. I would happily sail on the Fantay again though. :) It's a beautiful fun ship.

Have been on 4 ships. Our favorite is probably the Magic. Been on there 5 times so far. But I am hoping they upgrade some things on the Magic. They despreately need new beds. I would also like them to upgrade the TV system like that of the Dream and Fantasy.

My Order of Preference:

1. Magic
2. Dream
3. Fantasy
4. Wonder

And yes, I cruise on any of these ships is better than sitting at home!

We've been on the Magic, Wonder, and Dream (Fantasy in 5 weeks). The Wonder is my favorite of the ships.

To me, if they can transplant the attitude/service standard of the Wonder to the Dream, it would be perfect. Because the service/food on the Dream was a bit lacking (both times we sailed on her), I personally prefer the Wonder.

I haven't been on the Fantasy, but my family members tell me that its even better (features wise) than the Dream. They thought the food on the classic ships was better, but liked the Fantasy more overall.

I have only been on the Dream and have the Fantasy and Dream booked for future cruises. I can't bring myself to try the Wonder and Magic after being on the Dream. I would miss the Aquaduct, adult area, kids clubs, and trying the new concierge area. If I had sailed the Wonder or Magic first, I may be singing a different tune!:rolleyes1
