PLEASE! Whistle while you work …… Update Day 6 - 06/16

Great updates, Karin! Tom's soup and your dinner look yummy. And I'm so glad you found Ana.

Hey Karin - sorry I got so far behind over the past week. Wow - I had to go all the way to you leaving for the cruise. I have to say - that sunrise picture is just lovely! And your breakfast pizza on departure day looks amazing.

In fact - all the food pictures you have posted look really amazing and I am actually getting quite hungry now.

So glad you found your server Ana and that she is getting you all "hooked up".

Oh my dear Rosie...you better hope I don't read this post to Mark. Dumbo is "too child like for me"...he would be so disappointed in you. Dumbo, like all other rides at Disney are for the child in all of us.

I don't know if Mark will talk to you now. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

It's a better excuse than I am scared of it !!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

So happy things worked out with Ana and she enjoyed the Nutella! My kids grew up with it, but I'd never heard of it until living in Boston. Having grown up on mostly southern food, it was not something we ever had. Mia keeps an organic version in the house for Sophia - she enjoys it on toast. :)

On vacation breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Although at WDW I find it a bit more difficult to squeeze in a truly yummy breakfast and rope drop if not staying at a deluxe resort....of course, a deluxe is always my my first choice! :thumbsup2

We were sooooooo happy to see Ana again, especially since we were not sure if they would return for another contract.
We always had Nutella during our vacations in Italy as children. In those days we could not buy it in Austria, but I remember that we always had some at home once it became available.
It is funny to see it pop up in the US now, but it is SO expensive there. :scared1:

We rarely make RD at WDW and having breakfast is one of the reasons we don't. :rotfl2:
I cannot wait to have breakfast at Olivia's at OKW and Captain's Grill and Kouzzina while staying at BCV in August! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the answer to breakfast at Royal Palace !!Today I meet with P &P for the info on our cruise !!:cool1So will have a lot of reading to do and maybe a few phone calls with questions !!!:goodvibes

Just let me know if you have any more questions, Rosie, I would love to help you out. :goodvibes

I read the Daily Loga from the P & P trip last year and guess what ... they ate breakfast at the Royal Palace and when I talked to the escort she highly recommended it as it was relaxing and greta time to plan the day!!!

Told ya, you should try RP for breakfast. Very nice and relaxing. :thumbsup2

Great updates, Karin! Tom's soup and your dinner look yummy. And I'm so glad you found Ana.

Thanks, Kathy!
We were so happy to have found her. She is such a darling. :goodvibes

:welcome:
Glad to have you on board! :goodvibes

Isn't it just so easy to fall behind? Happens to me all the time. ;) Thankfully we will go on Easter break tomorrow (for 11 blissful days!) so I will have time to do some catching up myself. ;)

We were over the moon when we "ran into" Ana. We have become quite good friends and it would have been a shame NOT to be in her serving area. :scared:

It's a better excuse than I am scared of it !!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I am with you on that one, Rosie. I don't do well on things that "run in circles" eg. I get really sick on the teacups :rotfl2: ..... so I can relate to you being scared of it. ;)

Dumbo is too scary, but even I have gone on Goofy's Barnstormer! WDW and DL! I would say never again, but if Sophia sees it in Auguat I might have to be very courageous....she giggles when I ask if she will keep Dumbo low. :rotfl:

I went on Goofy with Kyle when he was 5 :sad2: I was sooo relieved to get off and even more so that he didn't say AGAIN!!!!:rotfl2:

I've only done them once at DLRP when I took my godchild. Boy, I did NOT like it in those cups. :rotfl2:
I love the Barnstormer though. We went on it once during a tour and since it was before (or right after) opening time there was no one in line and we got to ride it 3 times in a row without having to get off. REALLY good fun! :thumbsup2

“I’m going to change that for you!” - part 2

She had to get back to work and after some more hugs we said our goodbyes and hoped to see her again that night. We were on cloud 9 and when we left the restaurant we ran right into the Princesses who were coming down the stairs to hold court.

Tom and I walked to the back elevators again and went up to our stateroom. We needed to get ready to get ashore as we had some shopping to do and we needed to get to Starbucks for some internet time.
Once back in the stateroom we changed, got our IDs and some money out of the safe and headed ashore.

It was really nice and warm when we left the ship and sun glasses were a must. One last look up to admire the ship and who do we see, Mr Donald Duck himself is looking down from deck 4, waving to people.

Lots of waving back and many people just like us had their cameras ready to take photos. Just a few minutes later we walked through the customs house and out into the town.
Since we have been to Nassau several times, there are not many things we really need to do, so, this time it was all about shopping. But first we had something else in mind. We headed to Starbucks, ordered two

Caramel Frappuchinos and bought an hour of internet time. There were some news we had to share with our DISfriends. So drinks in hand we went upstairs, Tom connected our computer to the internet, we both checked our mail and then we shared the news that we were booked on the 2014 Med cruise from Venice to Barcelona. We also signed up for the meet thread that already had been started. The hour of internet time just flew by and once we had finished our coffees we headed downstairs and into Nassau.
We walked up to the main road, did some window shopping and finally stopped at the DelSol store. They offer some Disney T-shirts and Disney items that change colour in the sun, so we wanted to have a look. To our huge surprise they had some really cute adult T-shirts, so we bought one for Tom and I, then we discovered that they had really cute kids T-shirts as well and picked one up for our friend Ann’s daughter, Zoe, and one for our cousin’s little boy, George. On the way to the register I got some hair clasps, which change colour too. I have one from a previous trip and it really holds my hair up well, so another one was a nice treat. We had to wait a little and when it was our turn we were asked if we were on a cruise ship and which one. Tom and I just looked at each other, what a question, LOL! We were both wearing DCL shirts, Tom had a CC backpack, I had a DCL Dooney and a money purse with a Mickey on it.
Do you really think we travel on Carnival, lady?
We told her which ship we were on, were handed a free colour changing bag and paid for our goodies. Next stop was the grocery store in one of the side streets. We walked through, but did not find anything to peek our interest, so we left again, crossed the street and walked into the Tortuga Rum Company. Tom wanted to get some Vanilla rum there and once we entered we were offered a rum cake sample. Can’t say no to rum cake, so we tried it and had a good look around the store. They didn’t have any Vanilla rum, so we left and headed towards the harbour and towards the Bacardi store. And yes, they had some rums he wanted to try, so we picked up a few small bottles and then headed back to the ship. We did one last stop close to the ship, so I could pick up a rum cake for my co-teacher at school and Tom got a Kalik beer, which he wanted to sample as well.
Once we had all our purchases we were happy to head back to the ship as we both had forgotten to put on sunscreen and it started to get really nice and warm. We walked into the customs building and ……… ran into a really long line. That gave us time to take out and put on our lanyards again, get out passports ready for inspection and slowly crawled towards the officers. We finally made it through passport control and once we had done so we made one more stop to check our mail, right outside the customs house. There is free internet there, but it is pretty slow, so it took some time to connect, check and answer one or two mails. And then we were finally on our way back to our ship. I am proud to say that there were two other ships in port and I am sure the Disney Dream was the most photographed ship that day.

We slowly walked along the ship, went through security and back on and back to our stateroom. Once there we emptied the Fish Extender,

freshened up and rested for a few minutes, before we headed downstairs to Royal Palace for lunch. We were quickly led to our table and ordered our drinks and lunch. Only when our drinks and appetizers were served did I realize I had forgotten my camera back in our room. It would have taken far too long to run back and get it, so no photos of food this time. Tom had ordered a Budweiser with lunch and I had opted for an Illusion, Vodka, triple sec, midori, and pineapple juice, plus we both had a Diet Coke. Tom had chosen the Assorted Seafood Sampler, with crab claws, shrimp, and marinated scallops, served with a lemon and olive oil dressing as his starter and I had felt like trying the Vegetable Quesadillas, served with guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. May I say that both were really really good. The seafood sampler had lots of tasty seafood and Tom was very pleased with it. Once we had finished our starter I noticed a familiar face at one of the tables close to us. Katerina and her husband Jimmy were having lunch at the Royal Palace as well. So we quickly headed over to them, before our main courses arrived and we had a short chat, letting them know that we most likely would have dinner with them. It was a very short conversation, as our mains had already arrived and their server was about to take their order. So we went back to our table to enjoy our main courses. Tom had ordered the Angus Chuck Burger, grilled 1/2 lb burger with bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions, served with coleslaw and french fries. It looked absolutely yummy and we had so much fun, when a server came over and asked Tom if he wanted some ketchup. He then put a perfect ketchup Mickey on his plate. How cute! My choice was the Grilled Halibut, with a tomato, olive and garlic sauce and I had subbed the rice for mashed potatoes. I have had that dish before and it is just wonderful. The fish was moist and went just perfectly well with the sauce and mash. We were in no hurry, so we decided to order dessert. Tom had the Hot Chocolate Fudge Pudding with vanilla sauce and I had my heart set on the Key Lime Pie, lime custard on graham cracker and a meringue topping. It was fingerlicking good. Once we had finished our desserts we tipped the servers and then headed back to our stateroom. We relaxed out on the balcony for a while, before we went to hand out some more Fish Extender gifts.

To be continued ...........

I can't keep up with you! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

How funny that the store clerk asked which ship you were on when you were all decked out in your Disney ship attire. :rotfl:

Love your Fish extender gifts...very cute.

It was so much fun seeing him enjoying himself up there! And seeing people on the other ships watching as well. :rotfl2:

Jen, after trying the internet on board, we had to find out about other options to get internet options. The one at Starbucks is pretty good (and fast), but they charge you for it. The one at customs is free and SLOW, but much faster than the one on board.
I am pretty sure McD has internet as well, but we haven't tried that one yet. ;)

Aunt Bop Bop is always behind on Miss Kathy's reports! :thumbsup2

The store is called DelSol and at the back of "another" store, but you can see it from the street.
The shirts are not cheap but so much fun. Tom and I have several ones and I usually get one for little George. They now carry Disney shirts as well and they are too cute!
Packing bottles. Mine are usually wrapped in a double layer of T-shirts and placed in the middle of the suitcase. Make sure your suitcase is "full", so they don't move around. Tom usually buys smaller bottles so he can try different types (about 200ml)
Not really sure about the limit YOU are allowed to bring, but I think it is 1 litre per person over 21. Check with US customs before you go!

It was a really wonderful and relaxed day. That is what I love about cruising so much. The moment we get on board we kick back and enjoy. No running around parks or heavy shopping. :lmao:

We got so many cute FE gifts this time. I needed more space for them going home than I did going there. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the info !!I will have Judy check the customs regs !!1Seeing as she works in Custom Brokerage she should be able to find out:rotfl2: Also thanks for the info on the T Shirts too !!I will definatley check them out !! I have been looking at Tours for Nassau as we are allotted money to do one !! I am looking at the Glass Bottom boat and Astoria Gardens and city tour !!Have you done:confused3 either
