Hi! Welcome to my second trip report. For those of you who don’t know me yet, my name is Ariana, I’m 39 (for a few more months) and I live outside of Atlanta, GA.

Photo0138FourBySix_zpsbba9c586.jpg

This was my 10th time at WDW and my very first solo trip. I’m married but DH is not a big fan of traveling so I usually go with friends or family to Disney. We don’t have children in the traditional sense. Ours are furry and have four legs.

First is Sierra:

sierra_zps689e4fd5.jpg

She is almost 3 years old and the love of my husband’s life. Yep, her, not me! She is feisty, a bit of a brat and also the biggest love bug you will ever meet. She loves to pick on her older brothers and also act like a dog ten times her size. If I hold her when DH leaves the room, she starts screaming to follow after him.

Next is Alex:

013-1_zpsf91d2f43.jpg

He’s 6 years old and was the baby till Sierra came into the picture. He is the only one that has “followed” me home from the Animal Shelter where I volunteer. I think there would be a lot more but DH is allergic to cats and most dogs. We have the Schnauzers because they don’t shed and they don’t bother DH’s allergies. Alex’s mom was a schnauzer so he doesn’t shed. Daddy was a big question mark. Alex is as sweet and loving as they come. He’s mostly my dog and is usually somewhere in the same room I am. He is a worry wart and gets very upset when he sees a suitcase come out of the closet. He is also obsessed with socks and steals them from us all the time.

Last but not least is Eddie:

024_zps6c510aa1.jpg

He’s 11 ½ and has been my baby since we brought him home at 6 weeks. The picture is a little outdated, I have an awful time getting good pictures of him with his dark coloring. You’ll notice in the picture that he only has one eye. He has had eye issues most of his life. Unfortunately since that was taken, he has lost the other one. He gets around ok for the most part but does spend a lot of time running into walls. Eddie is all about two things, eating and sleeping. He is so obsessed with food that we have to be on constant alert. In his lifetime he has eaten a 12 inch meatball sub, a box of Total cereal, a bag of Doritos and a bag of chocolate chip cookies. Those are just the ones I remember at the moment.

So, enough about my babies (I could probably go on for pages) and on with the Disney trip. Prior to this trip, I went to Disney with my Mom in November 2012 and I’m still writing the TR for that one. The link is in my signature if you are interested. When I got home from that trip, I was sad that I wouldn’t be going back until October 2013. When I got my bonus from work in December, I decided to use it for a quick solo trip. I wanted to do it halfway between the two other trips but circumstances at work and not wanting to go in the summer heat lead to a late February/ early March trip. So here are the details:

Dates: February 28th through March 5th, 2013
Resort: All Star Music
Dining Plan: Regular

A few facts about me, if you’ve read my other TR, you can probably skip over this:

1. Favorite Character: Pluto, Pluto and Pluto! I have loved Pluto since before I can actually remember. I have an entire room in my house dedicated to him. Don’t believe me? Check out this link: Pluto Room.
2. Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom all the way. I could sit down on a park bench on Main Street and never move for the rest of my life. Well, I might have to go visit some rides and shows once in a while.
3. Favorite Ride: I am a ride lover at heart. I’d rather be on a ride at Disney than any other place. I’m not much into character greets or parades. Pirates of the Caribbean, Soarin’, Expedition Everest, and Toy Story Mania are probably my favorite at each park. But it tends to change.
4. Favorite Restaurant: A tie between Coral Reef and Rose & Crown Pub

Ok, let’s move on for now, I’m sure you’ll learn a lot more about me as the TR progresses.

One last thing before I end the intro, I should probably explain the title. Being on a solo trip, I tended to listen a bit more to the conversations around me. Some things I heard made me laugh out loud, others were just horrifying. So I started writing them down. As I finish each day of the TR, I will list out the quotes from that day for your enjoyment.

July Trip to See Mom

My first morning started off like most of the times when I head to Disney, very early! My alarm went off at 4:30 am and I was on the road to the Airport at:

001_zps0d88ae67.jpg

Not too bad, I wanted to be out of the house at 6:00 am and I made it. My flight was at 8:50 am but I had to drop my car off at DH’s work plus I had to deal with rush hour traffic. DH left for work about 5:30 am so when I got to his work, I left my car and he drove me the rest of the way to the airport. He dropped me at the airport at 7:05 am.

There was no wait to check my bag, I walked right up to the counter. I got shuffled to the South security and it was a bit longer of a wait because there was only one person checking the licenses before you went through the X-ray machines. The South security is much smaller than the regular one at the Atlanta airport. Despite that, I was still at my gate at 7:45 am.

We were supposed to board at 8:20 am but the plane didn’t arrive at the gate till 8:10 am so it was about 8:30 when we boarded. I was seated in a row with two ladies who I think were Mother and Daughter. They were speaking a foreign language so I didn’t try to start a conversation. I read some magazines and watched out the window and before I knew it we were landing!

We landed right on time at 10:30 am and I headed for the Mini Monorail to get to the main terminal. I wasn’t going to take any pictures because I took a ton last time but I couldn’t resist.

I was thrilled to see this sign (please pardon the crookedness, I tend to walk and take pictures at the same time so my pictures are sometimes crooked):

Yea, here it comes!

004_zps344042a8.jpg

Not sure what I was trying to take here. Maybe my first sight of palm trees?

005_zps4f86c105.jpg

I headed down to the DME and before long I saw this:

006_zpsad6def0b.jpg

There’s those beautiful buses!

007_zpsce1784c2.jpg

I waited in line for only a few minutes and then we were loaded on the bus. I got a cruise line bus but between loading my small suitcase under the bus and trying to juggle my DME paperwork, I didn’t get a picture of my actual bus. I did take a picture of the one next to me:

008_zps61fa35f7.jpg

And also the hidden Mickey’s on the seat:

009_zps62053bae.jpg

No one sat next to me so I relaxed and enjoyed the movie:

Our driver did give us some “advice” for our stay at Disney. Unfortunately he didn’t get all of the information right. I can’t remember what he said wrong but he was obviously trying to quote a script that he didn’t quite have memorized correctly. I got a good chuckle out of it but felt bad for anyone that used his advice. Before very long, I saw this wonderful sight out the window:

011_zps8a7df5fd.jpg

A little closer:

012_zps41b6f381.jpg

Almost there:

013_zps6cc780ab.jpg

That was the best I could do because I was about five rows back on the bus.
We stopped at Coronado Springs first and dropped off some people. Then we were off to the All Stars:

014_zps4cbd68eb.jpg

First up was All Star Sports:

016_zpsb2e355ac.jpg

By this time the movie was over and we were on to watching cartoons. The showed a funny one with Donald Duck and Chip and Dale:

017_zpsfa980258.jpg

And then we headed to All Star Music! (Sorry for the horrible pictures, they were the best I could get out of a moving bus window):

018_zps4cd32e31.jpg

019_zps6fdc32e6.jpg

We got out of the bus and walked the red carpet to head into the lobby:

I was grabbed immediately by a CM with an IPad. In less than five minutes, I was checked in, I got the section I wanted and my room was ready! It was the first time I had actually gotten my room request. The CM was very apologetic though when she told me I had a room with a King sized bed, was that ok with me? Of course it was. Since I was by myself, it was just fine with me.

I've been looking for new TRs to read all day, and was all "that one looks inter--PLUTO!" And realized it was you bahaha

Didn't know about the pluto room! Ha, my old roomate has an eeyore collection about that size

Excited to hear all about your trip!!

I'm here...thanks for the heads up. I'll be back later to read (have to do some laundry after cleaning up after our pup).

I'm here!!!

That Donald and Chipmunks cartoon is the same one that was playing after the movie for me in December.

I've never read a trip report- I'm excited to see how your solo trip went. I tend to be a solo traveler myself- so I'm going to have to take notes!

OMg that room you have is like Haileys dream come true!!! I have to ask where did you get the Pluto skipping rope,She would faint if I got her one!!! Holy cow how does anyone know what pluto stuff to buy u or not thats insane!!!I love the older stuff too so cool I'm gonna have to show Hailey those pics tomorrow when she gets home from school.

I love to travel to WDW solo and can't wait to hear more about your trip. Your doggies are super cute.

Yay!!! Thanks for the invite!!! I love the start of your adventure!

I think - the thing I am most excited to hear about right now... I can't wait to hear all of the quotes. LOL I'll bet you overheard some very interesting things. LOL

D~

I'm here, I'm here!!!! :cool1: I am with D~, CANNOT wait to hear the quotes. That is such an original idea for a TR theme...LOVE IT!!!! :stir:

Can I just say that I love the pictures of your beautiful fur babies. :lovestruc My mom and dad had a schnauzer from the time I got out of high school until I was married with two children. He was the most sweet, gentle doggie. He was a part of the family for sure...and then he passed away when they had the big dog food contamination about 10 years ago. Many tears were shed when we lost our precious Sigmund. paw: Your Sierra looks just like he did. ::yes::

We stayed in one of the family suites at ASMu when we went in 2011. I look forward to seeing a few familiar sights when you show pictures of the resorts. :thumbsup2

Very excited to see your TR as it all comes together. Can't wait to hear what you heard! LOL. As I travel alone quite a bit this always amuses me as a passtime.

Here too!

I have never thought about writing down all the ... um... saying that I have heard at Disney! Can't wait to hear what you have for us!

Can't wait to read all about your trip! One of my guilty pleasures is going on and pricing out solo trips for random long weekends....one of these days, I'm actually going to book it!

Okay...I'm back and caught up.

Your "babies" are adorable; my mother-in-law had a schnauzer.

Sounds like a smooth flight despite departing a little late.

You did great with taking pictures from a moving bus. :thumbsup2 on getting your request AND your room being ready.

That is too funny that you found the TR before I could even tell you about it! I guess I came up with a catchy title this time.

I didn't realize you hadn't seen my Pluto room before. It's a little out of control but I love it!

I'm here...thanks for the heads up. I'll be back later to read (have to do some laundry after cleaning up after our pup).

Glad you are here. Hope Cookie is doing better.

I'm here!!!

That Donald and Chipmunks cartoon is the same one that was playing after the movie for me in December.

Glad you found it! Mom and I got a Goofy sports one last time. The Donald one was really cute. I was almost (but not quite) sad to get off the bus because it wasn't over.

I've never read a trip report- I'm excited to see how your solo trip went. I tend to be a solo traveler myself- so I'm going to have to take notes!

:welcome: Oh boy, that's some pressure if my TR is the first for you! Just be careful, reading them can be addictive. ;) I had a blast on my solo trip, don't hesitate to ask questions if you have any. I read quite a few solo trip TRs before I planned mine.

Can't wait to read about your trip. I hope to take a solo trip one day!

:welcome: Glad to have you on board.

Im in!!! Your pups are soooo cute!!!!

Thanks! I think they are cute of course but I'm glad other people think it too.

OMg that room you have is like Haileys dream come true!!! I have to ask where did you get the Pluto skipping rope,She would faint if I got her one!!! Hi! Glad you liked my Pluto room. :goodvibes The skipping rope came from eBay. It's actually an older item. You may be able to find one on there for her.

I love to travel to WDW solo and can't wait to hear more about your trip. Your doggies are super cute.

I loved my solo trip, can't wait to do another one! Thanks, they are cute aren't they?

Yay!!! Thanks for the invite!!! I love the start of your adventure!

I think - the thing I am most excited to hear about right now... I can't wait to hear all of the quotes. LOL I'll bet you overheard some very interesting things. LOL

You are welcome, glad you found it! There were some interesting quotes that's for sure.

:goodvibes Thanks for joining in! Glad you like my TR idea. There were just too many good quotes to not include them.

Aren't Schnauzer the best? I'm biased though because I have had them my whole life. Sierra is pouting right now because her "daddy" is late coming home from work.

I was really hoping to fall in love with ASMu. While I enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again, I still haven't found my home resort.
