Well pre cruise all done. We are staying in Ft. Lauderdale. Found a great rate for a one bedroom suite for airline employees at a Hyatt for only $97.00 a night with a free breakfast buffet, free parking, free Internet. Not bad. So we are renting a car at FLL on 5/4 and returning to MIA on 5/6 and going to grab the DCL bus from MIA.

I don't believe so. I looked at the MIA website, and all are with a fee. But many hotels offer a free shuttle to/from airport and port of Miami. While not as convenient, we are combining the free hotel shuttles to get car back and family to port. Also note that while many hotels offer free shuttles to the port, in some cases it is complimentary only for two customers per room - so if you are a 4 person family, there is an additional cost.

Just wondering if any other wine lovers are planning on bringing their own on board for in-cabin (or veranda) consumption. If so, how much?

Val & I brought two bottles on our last 7-night cruise but we also bought the 4-night wine package, which worked out OK. I'm thinking this time we may go for a box, or two, plus a 7-night wine package.

We will bring 2-4 bottles and that will be plenty. We like to go to the lounge for a pre-dinner cocktail, so the wine is mostly for sailaways and just hanging out in the room/getting ready for dinner/etc. It seems like we always have leftover wine!

Only 7 weeks until we cruise! If you're like me, you NEED this vacation

We're just doing the 5 night wine package and spreading it out over 14 nights. I DO love wine, but a bottle every night is overkill for me.

Can someone give me the prices for the red wine packages? Number or days?

I don't think so either. It's fine. I don't mind taking the DCL shuttle. Going to call in a little while to book that. Now I just hope this flying stand by thing goes just a smooth as it did when I went to WDW a couple of weeks ago. It's much easier to do, like I am doing Friday to go see the Dodgers at spring training cause that is only a hour flight to Phoenix and we have plenty of flights there.

We usually drink the wine mid-afternoon on our veranda to go with room service cheese and crackers. Strangely, that doesn't stop us from also stopping in the lounge for a pre-dinner cocktail.

What is the "leftover wine" of which you speak?

I just called the Alamo location at the Miami airport. They told me that there is a complimentary shuttle that runs from the airport to the port from 7:30am to 3:30pm and vice versa. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes.

Don't remember the price but the package includes a selection of both red and white wines. You make your choice of which one to have when you are ready for it.

Most of the postings about this have indicated the car rental places at the airport to have free shuttles to both the airport and the port. The rental places in downtown Miami do not, but you can either get a taxi for about $10 or some of them have a shuttle service for about $5/pp.

A taxi from the airport is $24/flat fee

I don't know if any of you have tried it, but the Rosa Regale is FANTASTIC. I've had many friends who really don't like wine, let alone red wine, drink it and become addicted (in a good way, I promise).

It is a sweet, sparkling red wine (Brachetto d'Acqui). It's mainly a dessert wine, but screw it, you can drink it with ANYTHING.

We had discovered it after having a similar wine at California Adventure called Magicale, that Disney has sadly discontinued. We had looked up in forums, and people were saying that Rosa Regale had the closest taste. It did and it's amazing. Ironically, Disney now carries it everywhere. We even had it as our "champagne" at our Wedding at Grand Floridian.

So, if you're looking to try a wine that's sweet, different.... or just something to potentially change your mind if you don't like wine... I'd HIGHLY recommend Rosa Regale.

Also, for those of you that think Champagne is a great idea, but a little dry, may I suggest the Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante. It's much like Champagne, but sweeter.

This is so true. I am not a wine person by any stretch of the imagination, but my friends on my birthday trip to WDW insisted I try it at the wine cellar in Italy at EPCOT. Lets just say I had my fair share.
