YES Deb I was delighted by the surprise of finding my mom's ring. I had forgotten all about it. I put it in her jewelry box and there it sat for five years. It means so much to me to have it now.

The leg is the leg. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes it gets worse. I have gotten used to it.

If it's meant to be something will come up in the community where we want to be. If not, then we'll have to find something else someplace else. Fortunately we don't have to be out of this house at any particular time so we can wait a bit. But we won't wait too long because we want to be moved already.

Deb, I'm glad he's OK!

That was the first thing I asked him when he called. He's very lucky that he's OK and he has to learn to drive defensively. I told him that he should take a class. John said that the University (work) offers them all the time. I told him he should go and pay attention.

Shell, the baby looks adorable. Sorry you couldn't be at the Christening. But I'm glad you got the picture.

We're packing out my office currently. There's a closet in there with all of my gowns and my wedding dress. Well there was a small pool table in front of the closet so I couldn't get into it for years. Consequently lots of stuff got put on top of and under that pool table. I had no way to access that closet. Well yesterday we got there. We opened the closet and I walked down memory lane with all the bridesmaid dresses and the graduation dress and gown and YES the wedding dress. I saved one or two gowns and my wedding dress. I got rid of all the rest. Goodwill will have lots of fancy gowns now. AND the room is so much bigger without that pool table in the way. I have a feeling we'll be in my office for a while packing it out....there's so much stuff.

By the time she got to Brian.. she had been through a 4 hour flight... passed around to about 4 grandparents and a couple of aunts and uncles from Veronica's side of the family... (she has 6 siblings...) I'm sure by the time tomorrow is over.. she will feel like she's been tossed around like a football... When Mark was Christened it was that way (first grandson for all) and I finally took him out to the porch and sat on the rocking chair and he promptly fell asleep on my shoulder.. (something my sister INSISTED he wouldn't do...) (I think he was mine from that moment on... )

If it's meant to be something will come up in the community where we want to be. If not, then we'll have to find something else someplace else. Fortunately we don't have to be out of this house at any particular time so we can wait a bit. But we won't wait too long because we want to be moved already.

Better to wait a month or so if you have to to get what you really want. At least you have the advantage of not having to get out of your house right away!

I got sad the other night that I wasn't there. It's one of the first things I'm missing... but with the way things are with my sister, etc. I don't don't if I would have been very welcome anyway.

I also got sad last night realizing after seeing my sister with the baby.. that I will never be a grandmother...

Anyway... I hope to get out to CA before long to have her all to our selves!!!

And the box from Disney should arrive tuesday... so she'll be spoiled!!!

UGH. Room number six is taking a very long time. We worked from 9:30-4:30 today and only got a corner of my office done. There are so many drawers with so many things in them. After 15 cruises I have lots of pictures, navigators, menus, lanyards, etc. Then we did the top on my grandmother's secretary. I felt so close to my grandmother and my mother today....but mostly my grandmother. I saved all of her things that she used to keep on three shelves behind glass doors that lock with an old fashioned key. She has a perpetual calendar that's a wooden bambi that I loved while growing up. And I have her old wooden Greek saints. All that stuff is so special to me. I got teary today while we were packing it all in bubble wrap.

OMG AGAIN!!!! The kid got into another accident tonight and totalled another car. Now he has nothing to drive. It's only been four days since his last accident. This time there was snow on the ground, but only an inch and he was in our four wheel drive vehicle. THANK all goodness that he didn't get hurt again, but come on!!!! Learn to drive fool!!!!!

Now he has to take vacation for a week because he has no car to drive to work. He has to wait until his check comes in from his pension loan so that he can buy another car. If he totals that one he's got no other resources.

He certainly is not allowed to drive our car. Not even to the corner and back. And now my insurance is going to go through the roof.

I HAVE to get my eating under control. I know I have such unhealthy food issues but just don't know how to stop/ignore my cravings and comfort eating. I so desperately need to lose weight. I started snoring again recently because I gained all my weight back, so I'm not getting much sleep. Every time I start snoring, it jerks me awake, and repeat all night long. Ugghhh. This HAS to change! Sorry. Just needed to vent a little.

Holly I just started WW online (5 weeks ago,) and have 4 lbs to get back to the lowest number I hit in June 2011, my sleep is better again and my knees feel so much better. Can't wait to get back to my 50lb lost number and start losing new pounds.

Nobody should be on your policy except you and John...

When I got into my accident... the first thing the lawyers (on both sides) did was to sue EVERYONE who had anything to do with the car... and if he's on your insurance... or if you own the car... you can be liable... please don't take a chance with this.

Well we have to at least wait until we finish packing out the house. So we'll see how long that takes. We're only half way through and it's the 19 day of the month. We're doing the harder rooms now too. It will take longer. So we'll see.

Shell, I got two step grandkids that were living with me from 2 and 3 years old until they were 9 and 10. Now look at what happened with them. I now have no grandchildren and I'm better off.

I hope you get to CA sooner rather than later and go hold that baby while she is little.

I have been to her house so I know where she lives. It's beautiful and it's in a great location, but it's probably more than I can afford. I have checked prices in that area and they are way more than what I can spend. It's all about location and it's really close to the mouse. The other thing is mixing friends with business. I don't think I want to have Connie and Chuck as my landlords. They're too close as friends. I want to keep it that way.

We'll wait it out at least until we finish packing, then we'll see.

WHAT THE HECK!!! Wow, this is definitely not what you need. I've never heard of somebody having 2 accidents so close together.

I know. And he's only driving on his own for six weeks. He had his first accident on Thursday night right after passing the PA border. Then he didn't go to work on Friday. Then it was Saturday and Sunday. Then went to work today. So actually it was two days in a row going to work. It happened in the same place, right over the PA border. He said he turned to pull off the road to put on the four wheel drive. (John says why wasn't it on already since it was snowing for a while.) When he tried to pull over he fishtailed and then went into a spin and then got smacked by another car.

I'm sure that it was slippery, but you have to learn how to drive defensively and you have to learn how to drive in the snow. John and I could have probably avoided both accidents if we were driving. The kid doesn't have a clue.

Me too....same boat. I have too much going on now to focus on WW. I will get on it after we move. I still do a half a mile on my exercise bike everyday. So that's better than nothing. I will do that and get in the pool and walk and exercise after we move too.
