If you need the Magical Express Direct Number let me know. I have it right here.

well I need to change flight information because apparently United airlines merged or something so now my flights have changed, and because I requested ground floor but I don't want that anymore and my flight home is at 4:30pm but check out is at 11am, so does that mean we have to leave at 11?

1. You can apply for a later checkout say 12 noon or 1pm then be up front at ME waiting area shortly after because they usually pick up 3hrs before a flight.

2. United merged with Continental yeah, so I would say put a call into ME and see if that changes anything with them, their number is: 1-866-599-0951

3. If you feel you need to contact the resort directly please PM me for that one.

If your flight has changed to one that doesn't work for you, don't accept it online. Check out the other flights they have that day, see if one works for you, and call United. If there are seats they will generally help, when they change the flight times. But you cannot accept it online before doing this.

United and Continental did merge, but it was about a year ago, so I'm not sure that that is what caused the flight changes.

When they come into use if you want to opt out of carrying the cards around in a wallet and then with the hands full be asked to open the room door, or charge the food to it, etc. The same little chip will be on a circuit board that can be placed into the wristband which can be taken off and put back on as well as customize more and swap the chip out to another band. You can charge anything you want just like the KTTW cards originally could be set up to do. They are waterproof so they can be taken to the water-parks or splashed at any other park and just like the original KTTW cards if your band is lost or stolen they require a pin for purchases over a certain amount plus you can call and within minutes have a band deactivated and get a new one at Guest Relations or back at the Hotel. Also your Fast Passes are now stored on there so and your My experience keeps track of your Fast passes also so if you have a mobile phone you will be able to check back and see when you need to be back.

Lastly no POR doesn't have them yet. They will supposedly by the end of spring. That is a big if!

As for alternate ways to sport these RFID gadgets; there are necklaces maybe in the works, and still you may get the currently used KTTW with the RFID chip in them.

Can you use the KTTW cards/bracelets at downtown disney also or do you have to use your "real" credit card there?

How busy is the food court at breakfast mid-late May?

There will be 12 people waiting at the pancake counter, 7 in line for the bakery and 8 and the make-your-own-omelet station.... ;)

OK, start again...

It rather depends on what time you arrive. Before about 7:30am it is usually fairly quiet, then building up to a peak around 8:30am-10am, then getting quieter again. The exact dates will make a difference too, the last week in May being probably a bit busier than the middle.

yes it is what caused the flight changes because we booked our flights via our bank's visa card points system and apparently they weren't aware!!! We 're ok about the changes, but I figured I needed to advise ME since I had to give flight numbers and those have changed.

Point taken :)
We will be there May 18-29th. With 2 teenage boys I would guess we will be at breakfast around 8:00.
We have stayed at value resorts in early June and breakfast was crazy! but our past few trips were at POFQ in early June and there was maybe 2 people in line in front of you.
Just trying to figure out what to expect on our first trip to POR :goodvibes

The first week will most likely be fairly quiet, but the Memorial Day weekend will be a lot busier. I think at 8am you shouldn't find it too crowded though - maybe not 2 people, but not manic either. Closer to your experience at POFQ than the Values, anyway.

You don't have to leave the resort, no. DME will pick you up about 1:30, so you could hang around the resort until then. Or you could check out first thing in the morning and maybe get a few hours at a park or DTD. I would make sure you're back at POR no later then 1:00 though.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience with WDW! I don't understand about the references to cost? Did they put you in touch with claims? Let me know. Our family as you might have read had something similar happen, again I feel bad for your visit and experience!

I did read about your little girl Venom. It's awful having a sick little one on vacation. I felt so much more helpless there than I think I would have at home, though the situation would have been equally as terrifying. I think I'm just more confident on home turf.

The references to cost were strange to me as well. They made them more than once. I kept assuring them that I wasn't concerned with cost so much as I was concerned with finding out what happened with my little guy. They really kept the testing minimal though. No one ever put me in touch with claims or anything like that at all. I simply gave them my insurance information and we were on our way. I suspect I'll be dealing with all of that in the near future though. Should I have been in touch with someone? I would like to get a jump on that if need be.

I'm so sorry for the frightening experience you had with your son, it must have been awful. To be honest, it doesn't sound like a food-related issue to me, but I'm not a doctor. If it were food-related from the night before I'd have expected maybe sickness, but not a full-on seizure and blackout like that the next day. I expect your paediatrician will want to explore all the possibilities though. Does you son have any allergies that you are aware of? Or any existing problems with sudden dizziness related to changes in heat or lighting conditions?

Sorry you got a CM who wasn't prepared to go the extra mile to help you out. Assuming the resort wasn't completely full, they could have tried to relocate the next day's incoming guest who might have be allocated to your room, which is what the second CM obviously did. There is also (or at least there used to be?) an option to stay until 6pm for a 50% charge, but under the circumstances I'm very pleased to see that they waived that for you. It's at times like that you really don't want to be faced with someone who can't bend the rules a little.

Hope your son is feeling brighter now anyway - this might end up remaining a one-off mystery which never occurs again, I've known that happen.

Andre

Hi Andre! Thanks so much! No they definitely didn't seem to have an option for the later check out, but I wish they would have. My issue was that I was absolutely willing to pay, but I needed to know he could rest there between 11 and 3. I thought it was so strange that only an hour before I made this request they had called to see what they could do for me, and then when I actually needed something they couldn't help. I also really dislike watching my stepsister sort of...get her way...behaving in the way she does when I'm always trying to convince her that being rude like that solves nothing. Maybe she's right and I'm wrong about that, although I am soooo grateful for her attitude on this trip.

The second CM was wonderful and also issued us some park hopper passes for a future visit for the missed day due to the hospital visit.

My son is better. He's still tired but that's to be expected not just because of what happened, but because we just returned from Disney. I think you are right on about not ever really knowing what caused this. His pediatrician spent a good deal of time with us this morning and gave him a clean bill of help with the warning that we may see this again in the future. They don't know what caused it, but suspect he had a small seizure and the whole thing might have been triggered by him starting a cold while not having had breakfast and being just very excited in general. I'm hoping we never see it again. I'm just so happy he's OK.

My son had a similiar episode about two years ago. Had every test known to man. Came back normal for all of them. Has been fine ever since. (knock on wood) After it happened I found out that alot of people have had similar situations and have no idea what it was. So I hope your little guy is feeling better, and bringing him to the doctor puts your mind at ease!!

I think this might be a similar situation. It looks like we won't ever know what happened. At this point, a battery of tests won't help, and he seems OK now. I guess I just have to hope it doesn't happen again, but the doctors warned it might. Maybe next time I'll be more calm, but that's doubtful. This little boy is going to give me some very early gray hair! I'm so happy that he's OK though. For just a few seconds there, I didn't know. It was awful.

Hi, Vicky!

I really hope your little boy is all right!! I can't even imagine how terrifying it would be to watch your kiddo like that.

A similar thing happened to me several years ago. It was the day my DS (he's 8 now but was 2 at the time) had ear tubes put in his ears. We had to be at the hospital at 5am, and I skipped breakfast. When they were going over the post-op instructions with me, I hit the floor. My mom said I had vasovagal seizure and fainted.

I'm fine and it hasn't happened again. I'm no doc, but the circumstances sound somewhat similar?

I'm glad the hotel--if even if they had to be prodded a bit--did really well by your family!

They actually diagnosed him with a vasovagal seizure today as well. So I'm really glad to hear this has never happened again! He skipped breakfast as well, and only drank some milk. He's an awful breakfast eater. He hates it. We had a long talk today about having to eat breakfast every single day no matter what and I'm hoping he'll be better. I'm so glad to hear you're fine. Hopefully this never happens again!

Are the beds in the royal rooms comfy? Do they have comforters or the thin blankets etc...

Well mine was comfy. They're pretty much the same as the other beds at Port Orleans to be honest, only the comforter changes. They have a sheet, blanket, and the thicker top comforter.

The beds were firm to me. But that may because they were so new.

Hi all!
Less than 25 days now until our first POR visit! Thanks to all of you, I'm so excited!
:cool1:
Anyway...we are set to land at MCO at about 11:30 pm.
Any late night arrival tips or advice?

You'll probably own the magical express bus! Not too many people come in that late. So it will most likely go strait to POR. Make sure to grab your own checked bags because that late Disney doesn't grab them for you!

Can't wait made final payment today! only 53 days out! Is it sad, that we are already packed? I have dryer sheets to help keep freshness, but first aid kit, ears, lanyards, pins, sun glasses, sun screen ect. all ready to go! :rotfl:

This is only our 2end POR trip coming up and had a question. Last time we had some horrific bus waits, one day took over an hour to get a bus to HS- (but some great days too). We were at the north depot, and noticed that sometimes the buses seemed to be full and drive right past, and sometimes there was nobody- like we were the first stop and we picked up people at the south depot LAST:confused3 Do all the buses start at the south and work around or is there no specific order at all? Just wondering, I guess we will most likely be using the south this time- since we booked a preferred room, but wondered if there is a "system"

Thank you for all the information found on this board. I am preparing for our first trip to POR in two weeks and plan on using the information here to write my fax request. I'm going to start packing - anything that the resort doesn't provide that I should make sure to pack? We are flying.
