Is he ok? Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

He is Ok...well he seems mostly Ok. He's a little more lethargic than usual, but he seems to have developed a cold so that isn't helping. No...we don't know what caused it. There was nothing obvious and the hospital didn't do much for testing. They kept saying they were concerned about cost :confused3

It's not that I don't care about cost, but I was much more concerned about my boy. I have insurance and we bought trip insurance as well. Anything that isn't covered.. I'll pay for. But anyway, they didn't do too much. I was fine with it, but DS's pediatrician was more concerned. He will be seeing her tomorrow, so hopefully we will know more. I still don't even know if he had an actual seizure.

Omg, what night did you eat at the Garden Grill? We ate their Thursday night and I felt sick almost all day on Friday.

I'm assuming this was directed at me, but if not...ignore me..Lol.

Well, we all ate everything. It never occurred to me to think it was Garden Grill because we all ate there and neither my sister or I felt sick at all. I'm trying to remember exactly what DS ate, but I know he ate a bunch of the mac and cheese. He ate a few of the sweet potato fries and all of his broccoli. He didn't touch the chicken though. I also ate some of his fries and some of his mac and cheese, so I don't think it was the good there. We still don't know what happened.

We also ate there Thursday night though, and this all happened on Friday morning.

Vicky I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope you get a better idea of what happened from his pediatrician and that your son continues to feel better. :goodvibes

I am so sorry to hear about your experience with WDW! I don't understand about the references to cost? Did they put you in touch with claims? Let me know. Our family as you might have read had something similar happen, again I feel bad for your visit and experience!

The preferred doesn't have garden view? Is it just standard and river view? I'm staying preferred and don't want a parking lot view- how do I word that on my fax? Non parking lot view?

Yes, that's correct. There are 'Preferred Location' category rooms which look out over parking lots, but considerably more of them have nicer views of the bayou gardens. However there is no difference in the booking category, they are all just "Preferred" rooms. You can always put in a request for what view you'd like though.

The rooms in those four buildings which have river or pool views fall into the River and Pool View booking categories, and similarly the rooms with king beds need to be booked as King Bed category. See my building floorplans for more details at www.portorleans.org/images/buildingmaps/Floorplan-POR-AlligatorBayou.pdf.

I'm so sorry for the frightening experience you had with your son, it must have been awful. To be honest, it doesn't sound like a food-related issue to me, but I'm not a doctor. If it were food-related from the night before I'd have expected maybe sickness, but not a full-on seizure and blackout like that the next day. I expect your paediatrician will want to explore all the possibilities though. Does you son have any allergies that you are aware of? Or any existing problems with sudden dizziness related to changes in heat or lighting conditions?

Sorry you got a CM who wasn't prepared to go the extra mile to help you out. Assuming the resort wasn't completely full, they could have tried to relocate the next day's incoming guest who might have be allocated to your room, which is what the second CM obviously did. There is also (or at least there used to be?) an option to stay until 6pm for a 50% charge, but under the circumstances I'm very pleased to see that they waived that for you. It's at times like that you really don't want to be faced with someone who can't bend the rules a little.

Hope your son is feeling brighter now anyway - this might end up remaining a one-off mystery which never occurs again, I've known that happen.

My son had a similiar episode about two years ago. Had every test known to man. Came back normal for all of them. Has been fine ever since. (knock on wood) After it happened I found out that alot of people have had similar situations and have no idea what it was. So I hope your little guy is feeling better, and bringing him to the doctor puts your mind at ease!!

Hi, Vicky!

I really hope your little boy is all right!! I can't even imagine how terrifying it would be to watch your kiddo like that.

A similar thing happened to me several years ago. It was the day my DS (he's 8 now but was 2 at the time) had ear tubes put in his ears. We had to be at the hospital at 5am, and I skipped breakfast. When they were going over the post-op instructions with me, I hit the floor. My mom said I had vasovagal seizure and fainted.

I'm fine and it hasn't happened again. I'm no doc, but the circumstances sound somewhat similar?

I'm glad the hotel--if even if they had to be prodded a bit--did really well by your family!

When can I do online check-in? I'm 43 days away from going (YIPEE!!!) and I don't seem to be able to access the option of online check-in in the reservations part?

Just courious about the buses for early morning ADR's. Do they have designated buses for this? We have a few breakfasts at 8am or so. Gotta love having early risers.

I am currently booked at CBR for our first trip 5/23-5/29, but am thinking of switching to POR. We would probably book a preferred room, if available, but my DH is a bit concerned with the lack of storage space. Just looking at the pics, it seems like Alligator Bayou rooms do not have a dresser like I have seen in pics from CBR and POFQ, is this correct? It's not really a big deal to me, but he has an obsession with putting his clothes away!

What I have seen on pinterest is you get a hanging shelf that has hooks and hang it on the clothing bar. http://www.solutions.com/jump.jsp?itemID=17230&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1,2,4,494,539&iProductID=17230 This is pretty darn cool.

The preferred rooms are sold out of the spring offer for over Memorial Day. Is that a consideration? Either way, storage is limited. People suggest bringing hanging cubbies for the closet area, but if you don't have anyone sleeping in the Murphy bed, you have easy access to those three drawers.

Should be available up to 60 days out, from within the My Disney Experience pages (not the old WDW site as far as I know).
