"I started with the Ouzo-tini & DH had a Mythos lager. The Ouzo-tini was very good."

"We then had the bread & olive oils that they bring you and we ordered the shrimp app with hummus & pita.
They were both good & we almost couldn't stop eating the bread."

ATTN: ALL READERS

Some of you may have noticed that I have started a Dining Report for my upcoming trip to Disney World (3/23 - 3/30). I have purposely not disclosed our dining plans because I have an "audience participation" game planned for my live updates which requires that our plans remain a secret. Beginning on March 23rd, I will hopefully be posting my "live from Disney World" food pictures and will leave it up to all of you to guess, "Where in the World is jabead?" The first person to correctly guess my location will be awarded a WITWIJ game point. So with a little Disney WiFi luck, you will have the opportunity to test your Disney food knowledge and actively participate in a "Live Thread" game next week without having to fight the Spring Break/Easter Week massive crowds. :thumbsup2
 


We received an update this morning from Chris (dvc4life).


She said, "Good morning Barb. We made it to WDW yesterday late in the day and had dinner last night at Be our Guest. I didn't get any pictures however. We were sat in the west wing and it was just too dark for pictures. But I can tell you that the food was delish! We started with the meat platter and potato leek soup. The meat platter was very good. Soup was ok. Then my girls had the steak. One was charred too much but the other was perfect. Dh had the shrimp and scallops and thought it was very good. I had the pork chop and it was so good. Dessert we had one strawberry, one chocolate cupcake and one passion fruit cream puff. All were delicious. Me and DH also had a glass of wine. This was a terrific start to our vacation and we would definitely return." :thumbsup2

Then Chris said, "Now we are headed to Port Canaveral for our cruise. Can't wait. Be back on Thursday and will be dining at Yak & Yeti."

"I had the beef tenderloin. I asked for it medium rare and it came out perfect. The potatoes served with it was the highlight of the meal."

"Bill (long time BF and my Disney partner in crime) had the braised short ribs--he ordered the prix fixe because we're on the DDP and he wanted the French onion soup. I couldn't get a soup pic 'cuz he devoured it. He said it was great (I did taste it and agree). Regarding the ribs, he said it was good but mine was better."

"For dessert I had the chocolate mousse and he had the profiteroles. Both were amazing! It doesn't look like a lot of mousse in the little dish but it is, do not be deceived!" ;)

One of my besties just posted this on Facebook. This is great stuff y'all !!

Attention spreadsheet fanatics! I just found a free dining plan calculator. It compares the value of various dining plans for you based on the places you'd like to eat. It will also calculate whether you will save money with a free dining offer vs. using room only discounts. It uses Excel and has LOTs of drop downs, so I can see for week long vacations it could get tedious dealing with. I just did it for a 3 night trip in May, and it was pretty cool. There is a video that walks you through how the calculator works that you'll definitely want to watch, and maybe play along as they describe how to use the calculator.

Too funny! If I am mobbed it will most likely be because I'm not moving fast enough on the path to TSM at rope drop. :laughing:

She said, "At breakfast this morning I ordered Creme brûlée French toast and Bill got a ham and cheese omelet. Mine was ok, definitely not my favorite breakfast on property. Tonga toast puts it to shame. The French toast is VERY dense, it's almost like bread pudding. Not for someone with a consistency issue.

The omelet was tasty--it was solid (lots of ham and cheese) and well made. Bill started eating it before I got back to the table so my apologies for the half eaten omelet shop."

5 February Game Points Earned
 
Hi Barb & everyone! I am frantically trying to get ready for our trip. Last week it was not certain we would be able to go, but now it is all systems GO!

So we will be at BCV from 3/20-3/27. Our Cast of Characters is me, Valerie, my DH, Jim, our 3 kids & my MIL, Jill.

As for our dining plans, well a bunch or character meals: Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, Tusker House, and Hollywood & Vine. A few dinners: Artist Point, Biergarten and Ohana. Although I have been known to re-plan on the fly, so we'll see how many of these we actually get to. Might have a few others too or instead! We shall see!

Here is a pic from last year, kids are a little bigger now, but the adults all look pretty much the same. If you see us around the World, say hi!

Also, wanted to update you on my next trip. June is out for now. We are thinking July and hopefully will finalize in a week or two.
 
Hello everyone! :wave2: Sorry about the lack of updates today. I spent the day preparing for and then hosting a bridal shower for my nephew's fiancee. The shower was modeled after high tea at the Grand Floridian's Garden View Tea Room with tea sandwiches, fruit & cheese, etc., but for dessert I went with some local favorites.
