Have I gone mad? just spent £198 upgrading our 3 seats (return leg) to Economy Comfort next month. I will be driving when we land home so thought I would sleep better in EC.
Last time cost me about £30 each as we were Gold Medallion members but lost that status now, had to pay full price :(

Have a lie down and get Karen to call the doctors mate - you must be ill :rotfl2:

i don't think you've gone mad!

i booked us 3 economy seats and 1 business seat (for son in law with the broken back)..
but i'd like to get us into economy comfort....unfortunately, it works differently on the airline we fly, so i'm not sure if any will be left by the time it gets to us....(they give away economy comfort for free to platinum and gold FF and for half price to silver - so i don't know how many seats will be left by the time it gets to the rest of us)

i've listed Aaron as 2 meters tall (6'7"), so maybe that will help him get priority...but who knows...i'll keep my fingers crossed..

I booked months ago with Lastminute.com, couldn't buy the upgrade on Delta.com, said it wasn't an option, I assumed as I had bought thru a 3rd party. Not checked for months but today it let me upgrade.

They are flying Aer Lingus same as us. Not booked hotel(s) yet, Extended Stay Deluxe on Palm Parkway is probably best I have seen so far, £33/night, had a look around it last Nov, looks OK. Can get Country Inn & Suites at Calypso for £20/nt (£50-60 everywhere else) not sure if its a misprice but a few reviews don't look good, I think it would be OK but Karen is not sure, might go look around in a couple of weeks, ask to see a room.

I thought about this today but at £50 each for just 8 hours, it wasn't worth it. I'm only small but it's not much fun for my partner. Hope you enjoy them! (We will be using the money for cocktails and mini golf instead!)

LOL ! I'd go and have a lay down if I were you Wayne .... you'd best be careful the rather extravagant spending that some of us do may be catching :rotfl2::rotfl2:

£20 a night must be a misprint surely, by the time you checked the rooms out that offer will be gone. We finally managed to use some BA miles up, we booked renaissance at sea world for three nights using miles.

Total with upgrade is only about £500 each, once spent £1,300pp on Business class. now that was extravagant :rotfl2: If it was a choice between an upgrade or spending money then there would be no upgrade, thankfully £198 won't stop us doing anything.

Not sure if its an error or not, gets rated at 4.7/5 but downside is a resort fee of $8/nt http://www.clever-hotels.com/en/Hot..._count=1&ac_currency=GBP&ac_agent_id=55409317

£198 is half the cost of another flight in my book ;)
I'll have a mojito or twelve for you - suspect I'd be more willing to upgrade then :lmao: :thumbsup2

Wow at £50 each is be jumping on that upgrade!! And I'm only 5ft DH is 6ft 1 I'd even get it for the kids, we all did prem with first choice for our Disney wedding there and back and LOVED it, can't wait to afford to upgrade again £50 is nothing that's like only maybe 4 drinks lol

I think that upgrade was money well-spent. Next year I'm considering Virgin economy only if I can get the extra legroom seats. I need to pay for 6 seats ..... In August too :sad2: ...... So that's changed my 'never again' vow for transatlantic economy :rolleyes1

It's £50 for the transatlantic leg each way, and a further £30 for the domestic legs, totalling £160 each - which is almost half the cost of the flight...And it's just a slightly bigger seat, it's still "economy" :( If it were £50 all in, I'd consider it but probably still wouldn't in all honesty...

Have done premium, and would never pay for it personally but nice as a freebie

Also what are you drinking for £12.50 a drink?! (And is it worth it?) We tend to stick around the £3-5 mark for drinks so that's 10+ drinks on one transatlantic leg alone, or 30-50 drinks if we upgrade both ways fully..! Each!

My wife only drinks cocktails, and champagne and she always thinks its worth it :)

I see my DH has answered for me lol!
In all fairness we are eating at Disney restaurants every night and so their cocktails are around the $12 for the light up specials ( which are so pretty I just have to have) I really enjoy the planet Hollywood cocktails and so we stop by a few nights a wk just at the bar,and the drink at the Polly that comes in the pineapple " amazing"

And yes my drink of choice is champagne/champagne cocktails so they do run a little more....... " eek"
