Towel Animals

It is fun to get towel animals, but they are not expected, just a sweet surprise.

I enjoy making towel animals for the cleaning staff. My best is the snake or the log.

I recall coming back to our cabin on a cruise and screaming in fright because of the hanging monkey on a hanger. Too many drinks maybe?

. After talking we realized that even though we were both planning on leaving a tip for maid service, my mom left a little every day, while I just let mine in one tip at the end of the week.

So, if you are planing on tipping housekeeping anyway you might try and leave a little each day...can't guarantee it will work, but it can't hurt! Good luck!

I'm not being funny but I would NEVER tip at the end of the week-I don't suppose Mousekeeping all do 7 day weeks any more than any of us would. I always think supposing my mousekeeper has a day off the day I leave, and the large tip she thoroughly deserves goes to Billy-scruffbag, who never does more than he has to? I know I would be hacked off at that:offtopic:

When we stayed last November at POFQ we got them everyday. It was myself, DH, DD13 and DD15. Our Mousekeeper was so nice, she even made sure to tell me on the last day to make sure we took the animals she had made for us. I hope this was allowed, I assumed it was because she was the one that told us to do it. Oh and we did tip daily probably didn't make a difference but that is how we do it because I read once that you don't always get the same housekeeper so you should do it daily. Have a great trip.

The only time we ever recieved a towel animal (that wasn't in the room at check-in) was last week at ASMo. Ironically, we'd always stayed Deluxe before and this was our first Value trip. Also, DD is now a teen and all the years when she was younger, we never got one. So I really think it's a random thing. We noticed our neighbors all had different ones in their windows too (like ours was) that day so maybe it was just a certain mousekeeper who was creative that day.

:rotfl: I LOVE that monkey on a hanger! We've gotten that one twice and it's so cute! :goodvibes

We didn't get any towel animals on our last trip (we were 22 and 24 at the time, but as previous posters said, they didn't think age made a difference). Hoping to get some on our upcoming trip!

Dh and I got several (no kids) during our stay. I agree about leaving one tip at the end of the week. It could be the first time that mousekeeper did your room and the poor mousekeeper that did it all week gets nothing. The mousekeeping envelopes are so cute and very easy to print off the computer before you go, we use them daily ,every trip.

There was a towel/washcloth Mickey head on each of the beds when we checked in, we got those everyday and the stuffed animals we bought were set up along the window sill or on the beds but on DD16's birthday we came back to the room to see a cake and some kinda little dude. We also tipped daily using decorated envelopes.

Where do you go to print off the envelopes. I would like to take them with me on our next trip too, please! ::yes:: Thank you!

If you google "Mousekeeping envelopes" there are several different sites with cute Disney graphics for mousekeeping envelopes. Each site I found had multiple options, too, so you can choose what appeals to you (or theme it to your resort). Some places let you print on a normal envelope, others print out a sheet that you can fold up to make an envelope. I used themouseforless.com for mine, but like I said, there are other places you can find the graphics, and they are free. :goodvibes

We get towel animals every time we visit, but last year was above and beyond excellent.
Few things we did...left a personal made tip envelope, then after the first couple of days I left a note saying how much my DD enjoyed coming home to the animals and then the staff went crazy. Every night we came home to my DD's "kids" doing something. Sometimes in the window...sometimes partying and watching TV. Even Minnie on the potty one night.
These are a couple of them

each one had a brush or styling tool in their hand adorable

Our last stay was only for 4 days but we still should have tipped daily. I sure hope Mousekeeper Elizabeth received her tip! ::yes:: And thank you! :) We have our master plan situated and already started to pack, so we are ready for a great trip! :yay:

We are staying for 8 days this time and I def will be tipping daily. Although we only stayed for 4 days last time, I don't know what we were thinking tipping at the end :confused3 Can't wait to make out some mousekeeping envelopes! :yay: We may have to get all crafty! :hyper:

Its our first stay at WDW in just over two weeks. We're staying at two of Disney's 'Value' resorts, POP and AOA and really hope we do see one towel animal during our stay! :tinker:

We had lots of towel animals on our last visit, we stayed 11 days and had a new one every day. LOVE towel animals! Here are a few:

Wow, you got a towel party! We got a few towel friends (the Towel Pluto was out favourite). They also set up the stuffies in various way (including wearing leis, we were at the Poly). Adds a little extra magic to your vacation pixiedust:

Wow! They're amazing! I hope we do get at least one. I'll understand if we don't since we're going at Spring break and the hotel will most likely be full. Can you bring these home with you or are they just for room decoration while you're at the resort? :simba:

I think they are meant for enjoyment in your room. We do not take them home. :goodvibes
