Disney dining discounts ..TIW, AP, AAA, Disney Visa...ques and answers

Whats the word on free dining? We have taken advantage of this from time to time in years past but I've heard that they will no longer be offering the "free dining" just discounting the dining plans?

Free dining is covered on the Dining Plan sub-board.

I think the answer is yes, but, can I use TIW for My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party? I haven't booked yet, and it would tip my decision if it was.

I'm not sure it normally covers the *special* dining events like that one. It covers the normal tea in the same space, but I'm not sure it covers the really expensive one with princesses.

We just checked our tables in wonderland card and it is good for a month after our next stay...I love the way it works..

Tables in Wonderland does not cover "special" dining experiences like the Perfectly Princess Tea Party, dine with an Imagineer, or the Candlelight Processional dining package.

thanks to "ses1230" for info on discounts with the Disney Visa Card..

Can Tables in Wonderland be purchased anywhere but the Guest Services/Ticket Windows at the parks and DTD?

We arrive Saturday late and do not plan to go to DTD or at park. We have a Kona Cafe Breakfast and I want to know if I need to plan to stop at the TTA to get Tables in Wonderland or if it can be purchased at the Resort. We are staying at POP.

Thanks!

It can only be purchased at a Theme Park (or TTC or DTD) Guest Relations location.

It cannot be purchased at a water park, Resort or Park ticket window.

And to buy the TiW you must either be a Passholder, DVC Member, or Florida Resident.

I figured it didn't hurt to ask, but I have always just gotten TiW with my AP did not buy it in Dec. because we had free dining. Getting it now will make it last through 2 Spring Breaks. So will have to stop at the TTC or just not use it for one meal. We will see how early we get to Poly. Thanks

DO any of the counter service places in the parks give a discount for being a AAA member?

Any of the DTD sit downs give a AAA discount?

I know that there are a couple places that do not take TIW but do take the DVC discount like Yak & Yeti I believe. We are bringing our DVC card too just in case.

Also at Yak & Yeti they give a discount to AP holders for entrees ordered (but only on entrees).

Another great perk with TIW is free valet parking at the resort where you are dining. We love that especially when it's crowded and tough to park!

I use AAA for all my Disney resort stays. Also other than Earl of Sandwich already mentioned, Wolfgang Puck Express also gives you a 15% discount with AAA.

been crunching numbers to see if purchasing the TIW makes sense for our trip during Thanksgiving this year...I currently have a premier AP..

have priced out which restaurants we plan on eating at (meals only, not alcohol) and come up with around $650.00.

is my math correct???

$650.00 food x 18% gratuity = $767.00 x 6.5% sales tax = $816.00 - $100.00 for TIW card grand total would be $716.00 so I would save $66.00???

know I will have some discounts with my AP, just trying to if it really makes sense to get the TIW?

Thanks :)
