I know that the Poly CL has been closed the last few months, but can someone who stayed there before the closer tell me if they still had the Longboard Lager in the club fridge at night?

Thanks
:goodvibes

Very pleased with Old Faithful Club staff! Sent an email the other with a room request (which they put in but cannot promise) but more importantly, my DD is on a gluten free diet and I asked if they could accommodate her needs. They will be providing GF bagels, donuts and other items for her throughout our stay. So pleased and cannot wait to go back to WL OFC!

Hi all :goodvibes

We're booked for our first ever AKL Club Level stay, through DVC. My check-in date is 12/1, but I am officially on a DCL cruise as of 6/1. I have a few questions since I really want to get some ADRs in right at my booking window:

(1) What is the email address for AKL Club? The one on the first page looks funky . . .

(2) Can I email them now? Or is it too early? I'd hate for them to "lose" my requested ADRs if I emailed them too early.

(3) We're moving from our Club level room to a regular studio at AKL after 3 nights. Will the concierge make ADRs for me for the 2nd half of my stay?

(4) Do I need to reserve the Sunrise/Sunset safari in June...do those sell out? If they make these reservations for me, do I provide a CC ahead of time via email?

(5) We will want to do Character meals---when do I provide my CC for these ADRs?

(6) Do I need to link my DVC reservation number on the My Disney Experience site for the concierge to find my reservation? Sort of confused about the 2 systems and whether they'll be able to see my booking.

(7) My DD has food allergies. Will the AKL club accommodate her allergies in some of the food offerings? At least chocolate soy milk? Plain bread (she's allergic to egg/milk/nuts)? Plain bagels?

(8) I know this is general--but what other kind of services does the concierge do? Any special tips? We're celebrating my birthday, but otherwise not much else.

(9) Is there a kid-friendly area in the AKL Club lounge (like little chairs, little tv, etc)?

(10) Do they make reservations for the barbershop? My DD always gets her hair cut there.

AKL is another resort where the lounge does not close at night.

This is awesome. But what does it mean? Can I get beverages at all hours of the night (we're from the West Coast, so we're up til 2am). Can we get snacks? Are there things laid out late at night too even after the night offerings?

I just want to make sure I do everything correctly, since we're on a cruise for a week and actually will be out of the country at the 180-day mark so missing our ADR booking window for December would suck :rotfl:

Super excited about our stay!!! :cloud9:

I've done mom/son trips with each of my two older boys - those are so much fun! It's so easy when you're just trying to please two people instead of five ;)

That's funny! My husband is jpd. I really should have thought up a fun disney name, but I went with boring :upsidedow

I alternate each year on a alone trip with dd and ds. After my son first in 6th grade I realized he needed a boy with him so my friend and I take our sons and leave her two older and my older siblings home. The boys have fun with someone their own age and it is fun to have a friend on vaca for a change. We did ages 10 and 13 and next one is next year at ds16! He didn't want to go this year so dd and I snuck in this trip :goodvibes

Also son is jpd.

At BC club level, is there bottled water that is available? If so do we have to ask and is it only available certain times of the day?
Thanks

I have not experienced this myself yet, we are going in August. I have been told that it is available all day but you have to ask.

I was just wondering if it's realistic to think we will be able to get the water to take to the parks with us or should I have some shipped to the resort?

1. Do look back through this thread to find discussion on the very questions you are asking. Yes, I agree the address in this message looks messed up- but it should follow the same formula as the itinterary planning office of the BWK- just sub AKL where it says BWK. You can email them once you make a reservation, but you'll probably get a message from them around the 190 day mark. Having your request ready before the 180 day mark is good, but really, there's only a very few choices that fill up very quickly. You'd probably be fine making your requests when you get back from your cruise, but by all means, set up your reqests berfore you go, so it's done.
3. Perhaps if you ask nicely.
4/5. I don't know if the safari fills up, but you should just add that request to the form they send along with you ADR requests. Most requests will be made via a form they send via email, but they do not want you to give a cc via email. They will likely call you to get a cc number, but you can also call them.
6. hmm..usually if I have another reservation, I let Disney know about it, so they can add a note. Since you will have to change rooms, there's no real big reason to link them, except they can give you a print out of all your ADR's when you initially check in.
7. You'll have to ask. Generally Disney is very good with allergies. They may be able to fufill your requests. They probably will be able to provide her with food that has not been contaminated, but they will not say, remove all tree nuts from the food that other guests can take. (SO you'll have to watch what she takes). I seem to think all CL places erve something like plain bagels, but if you are very worried about cross contamination- then realize, Disney might only offer her products that are truly certified allergen free. - i.e you might get prepackaged foods that are certified 'nut free-wheat free-egg free-etc. free'. I can only be blunt, some of those prepackaged items are not that great. Look on the DISaibilities area of the DIS for threads on the specific brands WDW offers.
9. Yes. I think most or all CL's have kid areas...at least the ones I've seen. I remember seeing a kid area at AKL. AKL's lounge also has a restroom. (Not all of the CL's do, which is a pain.)
10. Probably. The last time we went we did walk up, as they did not have ressie's.
11. Generally speaking, food is only out from 7am until 10pm, and even then, most CM's are DONE putting away food at 10pm. At 6:30am, they will have coffee out...and they will be in process of putting other food out until about 7am. (sometimes a few items are later than 7am).

At about 10pm, the CL staff will make sure the soda cooler is restocked, but they won't refill it after that. So if someone takes all the diet Cokes, that's it. Daily, CL staff puts out a fruit basket: apples, oranges, bananas. That stays out 24 hours, but there may not be much come 2am.

You are however, always allowed to bring food to your room, and you have a small dorm type fridge in your room. It's more of a 'beverage cooler.' It's not all that cold, especially if you cram it full of bottled water :rolleyes1. So you may want to stow a few snacks for later.

Well....it's hard to say exactly what CL staff will do...the answer varies. In one sense, the main service they offer is ADR's. On the other, they oftne do more. One thing they are good at doing is helping guests obtain information. If you want to know the fastest way to get from AKL to the BWK via WDW ttransportation say, or where to find a taxi. They can check what time the MK closes, or what time a show starts. If you have any problems with a room key not working... Though even as a CL guest, you are also allowed to ask the front desk for help (esp if you need help after hours).

I am wondering the same thing. I think that I will order some and have it shipped to the resort. The last thing that I want is for us to get down there and for them to say that they don't have any water to give out. My family drinks a lot of water ;)

I was just wondering if it's realistic to think we will be able to get the water to take to the parks with us or should I have some shipped to the resort?

This gets asked all the time. Results vary. Some folks have reported that were able to get one bottle of water per person each day if they asked. Whenever I have asked, I was told that the resorts only carry bottled water in glass bottles, which can't be brought to the parks, only to your room. I'm also not above refilling my plastic bottle. ;) For us, if it's cold, one bottle might be enough. When it's warm though, we end up needing more. We usually get some on our own.

However....do read about having water delivered to your resort. (I think the thread is called 'shipping to your resort'). Last time we had water shipped, the resort charged us like $10 per case of water. Pop did not charge, but the resorts which are 'convention' resorts do- or at least did the last time we tried a couple years ago. Since then, we pick some up ourselves. If you have a car, you don't have to go far out of your way- the Hess stations on WDW property sell bottled water (I want to say Dasani? at fairly normal prices.)

If we have a car...my personal preference is to stop at either a Publix or the Whole Foods off Sand Lake Drive(Take the north exit when leaving MCO). The Whole Foods is really nice for a quick lunch! (extensive buffet, brick oven pizza, just about any healthy/organic food you could want, but $$!) Publix is a mainstream grocery store. Both sell beer/wine (not that you need it with CL). There's also Walmarts, walgreen's, and Targets. (Oh my!)

kalliyan -- most CLs don't have water so we always have some shipped to our room. People here are reporting that BC and YC do if you ask but I didn't even try it last summer when we stayed YC CL because I'm so accustomed to ordering water and we did a split stay with AKL CL and they do not give out water for the parks. I'd be reluctant to trust that we could get all our water that way (we tend to drink a lot of water when we are in WDW).:)

lilpooh -- AKL CL is wonderful. :cloud9: Definitely do make a reservation for the Sunrise Safari -- we've been on it 3-4 times and only one of those times was it not completely sold out. There's a cute little area in the lounge for kids, with little furniture and a tv. It's a great lounge. Not sure if they will make all your ADRs (for the time you aren't CL) but you can always ask them to. Don't worry about being on a ship at your 180-day mark -- just tell them what you want -- they are very good at getting them. :goodvibes

Were you able to combine the Orbitz code and the passholder discount?

Were you able to combine the Orbitz code and the passholder discount?

The sale rate on orbitz was like a dollar less a night that what passholder was offering. Then you could add the SPRING20 promo code after and saved $445 over 3 nights at PolyCl and another $56 off my CSR business club ( my first 2 nights/split stay) . It never occurred to me that non Disney would have a better rate than passholder. There is a link out there about the orbitz sale, you should check it out for future.
I am still doing the happy dance to get a decent price over Easter week.:cool1:
