Happy Late Birthday!!! I'm so bad and haven't been on the boards lately! Sounds like you had a fantastic day - full of antics from JJ. Dr Who is GREAT!!! I loved watching those shows!!

The pics of JJ and his Jedi Robe reveal was priceless! So happy he will get to meet Trevor and they can share their excitement over star wars. They will entertain themselves for hours!

Congrats on the new role as Rafunzel's prince. His part of the play sounds hysterical!

What did you think of F&G? We saw alot of the amazing gardens and topiaries when we were there. Most of the big areas they had roped off so you could not see. Wasnt' there one area that dealt with Oz? We are going to see that this weekend and really looking forward to it.

I'm sorry we missed each other earlier this month! The weather was crazy cold for Florida. But I did get a new sweater coat out of it so that's okay. Its grew cable knit button down with a hood and three mickey heads on each side of the buttons. I LOVE it!! Have you seen the new Vera Bradley bags that are coming out later this year. Will have to get one of the darker colored ones when they come out!

I'm hoping we can go back to Florida in early Dec if Shane's doing ok from his back surgery (scheduled for 4/3!!!) but since we are so late in having it done we may not go till next year. I really wanna go at Christmas time next.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I love Dr. Who. Just recently got started watching them. After seeing so much Dr. Who merchandise on Her Universe's facebook page and online store, I got curious. BBC was having a Dr. Who marathon and dh and I got hooked. JJ is still calling it Horton Hears a Who.

The robe is awesome. I really hope it pans out for us to meet up at SWW. I know they are on their wish trip and will be busy with everything planned for them.

He came home from play practice all wired yesterday. Telling me he has to pet Rafunzel's hair and he learned to waltz. But he couldn't remember if he twirls Rafunzel of she twirls him. He showed me his waltz, and he counted his 1-2-3

This year's F&G Festival is going to be the best one so far, imho. They outdid themselves on many of the topiaries. I have pictures to post if photobucket will let me. (I got a message today that I'm at 103.86% of my storage usage. Doesn't make sense since it says I've used 7.5 GB of 29.5GB? I sent them a message.) The food is a great new addition, but highly overpriced. The Lasagna from Italy is more expensive than the lasgna that was at F&W Festival. Most everything we liked was over $6. So it is very expensive to eat your way around. I had the beef brisket at the Smoke House and DH had the lasagna at Italy. JJ had already eaten but he and dh shared the chocolate mousse brownie at the smoke house. They loved it. Boy was JJ bouncing off the wall with all that caffeine, chocolate and sugar.

The Oz area was fantastic. JJ loved it and this was the first playground he could actually "do". There was only one section that was too "hard".

Enjoy the movie! I hear it's outstanding. I can't wait to go. We saw the Lost Medallion last week. Boy was it good! It's an Indian Jones type movie for families. It's by the same people who made Fire Proof and Courageous. But this time they used paid actors instead of mostly volunteer staff. People who go to see it who see it will recognize the lead character Billy Stone. He is a much younger Billy Unger from Disney XD's Lab Rats.

Your new sweater sounds great! Would love to see a picture of it.

Christmas time would be fantastic. I hope he is healed well enough to go then.

He was thrilled with his surprise mail! It really boosted his spirits.

I want a cookie!

How about an easy but delicious cookie recipe . I had to bring a treat to one of my groups and had very little groceries in the house. I called my cousin who loves to bake and asked her what I could make based on what I had. (JJ and grocery stores don't mix well. The lighting is too bright and he wants to leave as soon as we enter. But we're working on it.)

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
add 1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
mix

2&1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
mix together with above ingredients

roll in sugar

bake at 350 degrees.

If you want them soft and chewy take them out before they brown, if you want crunchy cookies take them out once they brown.

These are addictive so beware...

Yes, food was added to F&G! But it's super expensive and for the most part portion size doesn't seem any larger. There is also a spiced rum pineapple dole whip. Pictures coming. I promise!

A couple weekends ago, the last episode of Series 5 ended with Ahsoka Tano leaving the jedi and going her own way. It was a shocking ending. And answered the 5 year old question asked each year at SWW, "What happens to Ahsoka between the clone wars and Episode III?"

JJ took it personally because to him Ashley Eckstein is Ahsoka. He was so afraid she wouldn't be at SWW. It him helped knowing that she would definately be there.

We had a little boy crying his eyes out. He said it was a "sad day in the force".

Then news came out that Disney is taking Star Wars animation in a different direction http://starwars.com/news/a-new-direction-for-lucasfilm-animation.html

Happy for JJ that new arcs are to come. I know he is looking forward to them.

Very happy to see Ray Park will be at SWW week 1 and 2 and that Warwick Davis will be at SWW weeks 2 and 3!!!

Trying to get caught up

I'm SO glad he loves his robe. My kids were so excited to send it to him. When I told Trev how much he loved Star Wars the first thing he thought of was sending a robe to JJ

I'm glad he liked the letter and Trev's drawings. Trev loves to draw and write. I love JJ's excitement over the gifts and the letters!

How sweet he wants to borrow a sister... Maybe we can settle for talks on the phone... They are Star Wars fans too That would be great if we could have the boys meet this weekend... Too bad there are on the opposite coast!

How sweet he wants to teach his new niece everything I remember Trev trying to teach his sisters the alphabet and how to count to 100 when they were only a few months old.

The food booths were pretty empty on Monday afternoon. The food is 1 snack credit. But OOP it's pretty expensive. I hope they do it again with food for next year too.

With cell phones, it should be easy to meet up. We also have Universal and Sea World passes too, but we don't get there often. We are more Disney fans.

Ray Park was Darth Maul in the movies. Warwick Davis was Willow in Willow. He was Wicket the ewok in SW. He's been in the HP movies, and has many other film and tv credits behind his name as well. His dd is an actor too.

Great and Powerful OZ Part 1​

Last Monday we checked out the F&G Festival, in particular the OZ area. We loved the playground. JJ was able to do several things there! It’s for ages 5 to 12. One half of the playground was more his speed with solid footing. The other half of the playground was too difficult because the footing moved.

Photobucket wasn't cooperating earlier. Sorry I didn't get to part 2 of the Oz area.

We went to see the Great and Powerful Oz this afternoon. Wow! The movie was great!

JJ was so nervous. He's so scared of the witch in the Wizard of Oz scene on the Great Movie Ride. By the time he was seated at the theater, he had himself so worked up that he got a bad case of the hiccups. He was so overstimulated and anxious.

We had to do Wilbarger brushing protocol, get him some water, and let him put stickers in a sticker book before the movie started. I thought for sure we were going to have to walk out before it ever started.

Dh went out and got popcorn and drink. By the time he returned the hiccups stopped. JJ said he was so afraid this movie was going to be scarry.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but WE ALL loved the movie. There was suspense and he jumped a few times, but it wasn't scary like he was worried about.
