We bring pop up hampers all the time and love them. They fold up and pack nice and they are great to take to the laundry if you have to do it while staying at the resorts. I may look into the hanging device the other poster spoke about, that might be nice to have since we are hoping to get a King in AB (already paid for King room).

Yeah we bring popup hampers also in the hangdown shelving in the closet area.

Thanks everyone for the advice, good to know I can feed the kids without the worry of missing a bus.

Can't wait for our trip, my DH says I'm obsessed with planning our first trip to Disney.

You are not alone.. I think my husband is on Disney overload from me right now.. We are on spring break so I have had a lot of time to indulge myself with planning for the past few days.

Booked for may garden view, gonna assume AB buildings since we have 5 and a baby. Will call to request 1st floor but what building is near a bustop?

If you paid for preferred, they are all close. If not, request 16. It is the next best thing to preferred. Close to food, bus, and quiet pool! Have fun :)

Be very careful...there is no way to guarantee the mansions unless you are in a royal room. I finally gave in and booked POR with a request for the mansions. Our request was not met and we ended up in the AB section--or the swamp as we called it. I did not care for it at all!! Such a shame, as I really wanted to like POR!!

Oh my!!

That's exactly what I'm afraid of :sad2:

Yeah we would really need to know if you are in preferred or not. That determines the closest building possibility.

Because if you are 4 to the family you can send in a room request fax aka my template and ask for Magnolia or Arcadia Buildings.

But if you are 5 with the youngest being 3 or under you have a chance with the room fax also.

If the family is 5 with the youngest being older than 3 you may be forced to the AB area.

If any of what I said makes sense. Really supposed to be working and I am on here. Whoops!!!

No didnt do preferred just garden view as standard wasnt avaliable.

Yeah I spoke with the Room Assignment Manager face to face a few times before the move from POR to SSR and he told me 7-10 days is fine.

Thank you I will adjust the date on my calendar! Can't believe I am at the 60 day mark. Online checkin now shows up on the my disney experience.

I didn't do the online check in and when I was there in the lobby the lines were just as long equally. So after you hear back on your letter then you can if you want to check in online.

So you are saying don't checkin now? Wait until under 10 days and we send our letter? Is there a reason for that?

Also I presume we send one fax regarding both rooms and not 2 separate requests?

Well I have heard that some say check in but don't put anything in the room request portion at the bottom that may conflict with your fax that's all.

I didn't do online check in for just in case.

About the two room part... Have both confirmation numbers on this fax and names of all staying, you know the details for them.

Oh my!!

Just to be clear...I used the template and faxed in the request as per instructions for the mansions. A request is just a request...so be careful!! POR is really like 2 different resorts--the swamp and the big house!! LOL!! I will say that the AB section is very well-themed---I really felt like I was in the swamp!!

I have booked a preferred room and don't have any special requests, so should I do the online check in?

If your preferred, you will already be in the closest buildings to the main building, food court, and South Depot Bus Station. So that is up to you if you want to add anything.

But there is much less work to be done for the online checkin folks (almost just pick up your Welcome Pack and go) so the line should move a lot quicker in theory. It does depend on how many CMs are available at the time of course.

But definitely do online checkin BEFORE sending any faxes - that way, any requests you make in your fax will take precedence over anything from the online form.

I know that requests are just that, requests but I wanted to see if this sounds like to much

room request for the Mansion Buildings (top floor, not near elevator or stairs), perhaps a corner room and one adjoining to it (since there are two groups in our party).

I really would like the Mansions but if we end up in AB, then so be it but I didn't think when I fax it wouldn't hurt to ask. Our original reservations made by our TA, have top floor, mansion bldgs as a request and didn't know if I should fax it again a few days before (we aren't going until the end of May but I am trying to get all of my ducks in a row.)

TIA

That definitely doesn't sound like too much to me. I requested one more thing than that and still got it.
