Disney Rewards on Dream 2013

I use a Disney VISA card for my home business and have racked up a lot of points over over the past 6-7 years but didn't know they dropped off until about a year ago. So, I quickly figured out that I needed to every so often transfer them to a Disney Reward Card. I have now transferred ALL of my points to a Reward Card and hope to be able to use them on our DCL cruise this year. Have you used them and what all can you use them for on/off the ship?

Yes, you can use them on your cruise. I've had them placed on my account on the ship the first day I arrive. Then anything you charge on the ship (or Castaway Cay) gets debited against those points. On the last night of my cruise I stopped by the desk to check my balance. I had $2.40 left - they put it back on my Disney Reward Card.

Remember, those Disney Rewards Card have an expiration date - make sure you spend them all before then or your lose them. When my card is expiring and I have some left - I do a little online shopping at Disneystore.com!

Thank you FlyingBelle! I was under the impression that if I placed all my points/dollars on my on-board credit on Day 1 that whatever I didn't use I would lose - good to know that may not be the case!

Your monthly statement from Chase will tell you when the reward points that you've earned will expire if not transferred to a Redemption Card.

The Redemption Card is usually valid thru Dec of the next year after you receive it. If you get one this year, it would expire Dec 2014. Once you have a redemption card with rewards dollars loaded on it, you can use the dollars to purchase Disney Gift cards which don't expire.

This is great info-thanks! I have seen the expiration date on my statements, but I think the date keeps changing. Getting the gift cards is a good idea. Do you buy them with the reward card in Disney store?

You can buy them in a Disney Store or by calling the Disney Gift Card people directly. We usually just do it at WDW since we live less than an hour away.

Each time you earn rewards, they have an expiration date associated with them. From DisneyRewards.com:

Your Reward Dollars on your Card Account expire sixty (60) billing cycles after the billing cycle in which they are first posted to your monthly billing statement, unless forfeited under these terms and conditions. Your Reward Dollars will expire on a first-in, first-out basis.

My understanding is that once you transer Reward Points to a card the card is good for 2 years!

Mine have always expired in December, but I can't remember if it's the current year issued or the following (I would guess the following)
