Disney Magic - 05/10/13 (May 10, 2013) - Calling All Kids At Heart

I saw a post over on Cruise Critic saying the Magic didn't get into Port Canaveral this week until about 9:45 A.M. I looked at the ship's location on a website showing where ships are, and it's arrival time was listed as 9:45 A.M. Just thought it was kind of interesting.

Also, the Magic didn't leave Key West until about 2:30 P.M. I know our itinerary gives the time as 12:45 P.M. Wonder if they are being able to allow a little extra time there.

Would love input if anyone knows.

Don't know if I will get up early tomorrow to watch the Magic come into Galveston on the webcam. Maybe I can catch her leaving this week at least!

It's about 6:35 A.M.Watching the Magic pull into port. The cameras seem a bit blurry this morning, and there seems to be a fairly good breeze as observed by the flags blowing on the pier. A Carnival ship is pulled into the first slot and pretty soon the Magic won't be visable due to the webcam angle. People appeared in view on the pier as the Magic was arriving, but didn't stick around long. Seems like it was due to the wind. The Magic is now making the turn to become parallel to the pier.

Will be our turn in 62 days! OK...off to make coffee.

Do you all plan to give FE gifts everyday or just once or periodically. I'm so wishy washy with what I want to do. Just thought I'd see what you all thought. Didn't know if you'd been on previous cruises and preferred one way over the other. Soooooo excited!!!!

Oh, gosh - once a day? 7 days times 60 people (maybe) in the group = 630 items??? There's a reason we no longer participate in the FE exchange. This is one of them!

I don't think we ever did once-a-day; it was usually once-a-cruise.

Once per cruise is our plan.

oh goodness, hadn't done the math to that one! :)

I'll stick to once or twice for the cruise!! Thanks for your input, that will help me.

We just signed on for the cruise! This will our first Disney Cruise so we are super excited but keeping it a secret from the kiddos. We signed up for the FE with Becca and ordered our extender. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I enjoy all things Disney.:cool1:

I know during Open House hours the kids ages 3-12 are combined into one of the clubs, but does anyone know during regular hours what ages I can expect to be in the club with my just turned 3 year old?

Also, do you know if they counselors try to keep the really young ones separated in different area with different activities?

Thanks!

My guess is it's one big club with activities divided by age. If you look at the navigators from past trips you'll see some activities have age recommendations.

Just checked the cruise ship calendar for our cruise and looks like we are the only ship in all ports except for Key West. That day Majesty of the Seas will be in port with us. I noticed on the webcam the last time the Magic was in port with another ship in Key West, the other ship was docked in front.

The Magic will be back in Galveston tomorrow...I think we may have to watch her sail through the harbor again tomorrow afternoon. We are getting so excited about this trip (less than 2 months now), but I have to get on the ball about FE gifts before I run out of time!:goodvibes

We are a family of 4 also going in May. I cannot wait!!

THe ports are great, but honestly I have read so much negativity about Key West. Who knows, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

The following is a reply I got back from Disney Mom's to my questions about the Kid's Club:

"On the Disney Magic, the Oceaneer Club is the youth area geared towards the littlest sailors age three to seven. Older cruisers (up to 12) can also be checked in, but most eight and over spend time in the Oceaneer Lab. Each day you will receive your cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator, which will list all the planned programming for these spaces. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy activities like parachute games, Captain's Closet Dress-Up Fun, Play Doh Creations, crafts, Pluto's PJ Party, and Do Si Do with Snow White. The trained youth counselors do a great job of keeping the kids engaged and involved in these types of events. "

Magic is just pulling out of the port on the webcam. Looks like a beautiful sail away. Hope ours is as great!

I am trying to organize our FE gift

Can someone remind me when the group closes? Thanks so much!
