Personally, I would make the split reservation and continue to keep checking for availability at the Swan/Dolphin, provided you can cancel without penalty if the extra night opens up. Good luck!

Hi all,

I'm going to be in Orlando at the end of April, and thought I'd try and stop in at Disney for a few nights before flying back to England. The specific dates I'm looking at are checking in on Thursday 25th April, checking out on Monday 29th April.

My first choice would be the Swan or Dolphin, but although both hotels have availability for the first three nights, neither have availability for the final night, Sunday 28th April.

Is anyone aware of any events occurring that evening/following day that a certain number of rooms may be being held for? Or should I assume that the hotel is actually at capacity that night?

Essentially I'm hoping someone will tell me whether I should forget getting the full four night reservation at the Swan/Dolphin and just book elsewhere or a split stay, or should I hold out in the hope that rooms do become available for that final night?

Any advice is very much appreciated!

I'm in the same boat. I waited too long to book my week at the Swan - April 20-26 - and now the night of April 24th is unavailable. I did some research, and found a pretty big conference going on from April 22-25, and figured rooms are being held for that event. I keep hoping that rooms will open up as the date for the event gets closer, but until then I have two backup reservations.

One is a split stay, 4 nights at the Swan and 2 nights at the Yacht Club...not ideal, as both DH and I are not fans of changing resorts. The other is a full week at the Beach Club, via a great rate on Orbitz, which is an additional 20% off the 30% off Spring Rates available on Disney's website. Both are fully refundable, up to 5 days in advance of arrival.

In the meantime, though, I keep checking availability at both the Swan and Dolphin, in the hopes that something opens up. I would definitely recommend you doing the same.

Thanks all for your responses - I'll certainly keep trying! It just seems somewhat unusual that they are both sold out on a Sunday night, when both Friday and Saturday are available.

I think for the time being I'll book the Swan Thurs through Sun, and then change to another location for my final night.

I've had VERY good luck at the Swolphin and countless other hotels all over the world with extending trips even when the hotel says its full. Arriving a day early though, no luck...just ask when you check in if they can accommodate you.

Yes, there is the Cabana Bar at the Dolphin and Splash Terrace at the Swan. You can find menus for both on the S/D website.
