PLEASE! Whistle while you work …… Update Day 6 - 06/16

Hats off to you and Tom for that LONG day!!! I am so looking forward to the Grannie trip when us adults can take our sweet time and just enjoy!! I always feel duty bound to go Commando Style when on trips with P &P!!!

So happy you saw The Main Street Electrical Parade!! I can hardly wait for Sophia to see it this summer! Waaay back when we first saw it (1981) I was not a fan at all, but then it was gone and I missed it...funny how that works. ;) It will be special to watch it with Sophia - and one day hope to watch with Mia and Sophia...that will be very special. Maybe we will even see the The Electrical Water Pageant in August. :)

People Mover is a must do (several times!) every visit. I've been on it when it is cold and windy...brrr! Still fun though!

Glad you had a nice first evening, Karin.:goodvibes

I just love the MSEP! When we went to DL in 1992 it was the first evening parade I saw and I fell in love with it. Two years ago, we watched it numerous times. Last year we sucked at watching it. :rotfl2:
Sophia for sure will love it. The music is so catchy ......

We just love the PM, so nice for "people watching" and sitting and taking a nap. :lmao:

Thats one long busy day!!! But that is awesome you got on the Mermaid ride as practically walk on. Thats how it was for use too and we loved it, but I could never wait in those long lines I have heard reported.

It was a really long day, but worth the effort of heading over to the MK. We could not believe that the LM ride was a walk on. It was such a treat after sitting on the plane for so long. :thumbsup2

Rosie, sleeping on the plane helped a lot. :lmao:
You are really going to enjoy a trip when you can kick back and sometimes just sit and watch and enjoy and sip something nice.
I remember our commando trips well. Four parks in a day :scared1: in the blazing August heat. No more, we like to relax more nowadays. You'll see on the ship. :goodvibes

Hi Karin - moved again - glad to hear you had another great trip! I will try to catch up now!:goodvibes

Glad you saw MSEP. We watch it every summer, but we miss Spectro. Rachel loves the PM and yes, you feel that breeze on a cold night, we rode it on a cold night in Dec and I had to put my hood on. We were very surprised that we walked right onto LM during Christmas wk...very cute ride.

How very cool that you got to see the parade!!! Even if it was dreadfully cold... I am sure it was a nice sight.

Isn't the queue to LM great? I was surprised at how fast it moved for us.

I love the PM... sadly missed it this last trip. I would imagine it might be a bit of a chilly ride when temps are low outside.

Great that you got to see MSEP as soon as you entered the park

Our next trip is in December so we will probably get to experience a chilly Magic Kingdom as well !

Brrrrrrr - I'm sure a chilly evening is not what you were really looking for, but it sounds like you had a fun time all the same. I love the Contempo Cafe.

I actually did stay in a BLT studio in Sept 2010 on a girls trip before they remodeled them. I loved the view and location but felt the studio was a little small. But hey, that's the trade-off. I would definitely like to go back with Denny to see what he thinks.

Great update, Karin. Sorry it was so chilly out and that you had to dash into stores to warm up. Although dashing into stores is a good thing in my book. ;)

Way to go on getting a walk on for the new Mermaid ride; I do love that new attraction. I hope you were able to get back to Dumbo later in the trip.

I read about your move. :scared1: Hope you get settled in and back to a routine, soon.
We really enjoyed our half term trip. It was short, but really awesome. :thumbsup2

We just love MSEP. I have never been a particular fan of Spectro. :lmao: I will watch it if we walk "into it", but wouldn't sit on the curb for 90 minutes to see it. We have done so with MSEP. ;)

It is awesome to hear that so many of us just got to walk onto the LM ride! :thumbsup2 I have heard stories of LONG waits and was not willing to do that. But the way we got on was perfect. :goodvibes
And PM is always a favourite! :thumbsup2

It was just magical, to walk under the railway station and right into the parade. And there was lots of space to stand without having to squeeze in behind someone. We loved it! :thumbsup2

The LM queue is so pretty. I guess even if you ARE in a long line you will always have something to check out. And the PM is an all time favourite.
:lmao:

It was the perfect start to our vacation to get to see the parade. Got us right into the mood.
Linda, we went in December one year and it was wonderful. A light jacket in the evening and that was it. Then when we went in February one year, we FROZE ..... it was SO cold, I wore my winter coat to the MK. :lmao:
Guess it goes to show that you'll never know with Florida weather. :goodvibes

Thank you Karin for the info on Frankfurt airport :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading more of your trip report!!

You are welcome. But please be aware - Fraport is HUGE!
More coming up soon. :goodvibes

No, it was not what we were expecting, but even a chilly night at the Magic Kingdom is FAR better than a nice night at home. ;)

The studios are pretty small, but large enough for the two of us to manage. I just love the feel the resort has - like walking into a condo or something. I feel so at home.
You really should try to stay there again and give it another chance. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Kathy!
Having to dash into stores was not all that bad. Gave me a good excuse to have a good look at merchandise. :lmao:

LM is a cute new attraction, even though I think, Ariel looks a bit "funny" in some of the scenes. But it was nice to see it.
No luck with Dumbo though, we never got back to ride it. Can you imagine, that we have NEVER been on it? :scared1:

Half term vacation 2013, Feb 16 - Feb 24

Day 2, February 17

Its all taken care of! &.. well, sort of! - part 1

Given that we had only gone to bed past 1am we were up early again at 6am. The sun was about to come up and we watched it

and after that we both had a shower, Tom brewed some coffee and we munched a Krispy Kreme doughnut or two.
Then we went to unpack everything we would need for the cruise from the Owners Locker box and realized that we had forgotten something else, our travel plug.
We had several things that needed electricity and there we were with no plug. Well, we knew that the hairdryer plug on the Dream would be okay, but we needed something for later too. So around 8.30am we headed down to the shops in the Contemporary to look for a plug, but didnt find one.
Back in the room we looked through all the drawers and finally made our way out.
We had decided not to wait for bell services and to just carry our luggage downstairs on our own. It took a bit of organizing, but it worked.
Tom got the car, we loaded everything into the trunk, waved goodbye to Bay Lake Tower and off we went to have breakfast at Wolfgang Pucks Express. We drove past Old Key West and we talked about how much we were looking forward to staying there again. Soon we arrived at Downtown Disney and parked really close to Wolfgangs. A few minutes later we walked through the doors and took a peek at the menu.
Oh, wait a minute, there is a new menu.
Toms pocket was gone, but at least my breakfast pizza was still there. Then it was our time to order. The cast member manning the register looked up, took a second and said, Ive seen you around here before.
We all laughed, ordered our food and our drinks and then she mentioned that Maritza had the weekend off, which left us stunned as she really seemed to remember who we were. I showed her my AP for the discount and she told us that it was already applied and that the drinks were on her. :goodvibes
We could not believe it, but when I later checked the bill at the table we had not been charged for our drinks and the discount had been applied.
Since there was no one in line behind us we chatted with her for a short while until it was time to pick up our glasses, fill them and head over to the dining room to find a table. The dining room itself was half empty and we decided on a table in a corner.
Another cast member brought out some cutlery and napkins and we were set. A little later

our Smoked Bacon Pizzas - scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese were served.
They looked a little different from what we were used to, but they were delicious none the less. While we were enjoying breakfast we still talked about that Cast Member who had obviously recognized us and since she had told us that she was going on vacation a few days later we decided she deserved a little greeting from Europe. So after we had finished our breakfast we headed back to the car and grabbed a bar of chocolate and took it over to the restaurant for her.
Once that was done we strolled through Downtown Disney, stopped at Ghirardellis to enjoy a little chocolate sample and then headed back to the car.
Once we got into the car we didnt drive very far, just over to the Hess gas station. We picked up some Budweiser for Tom and Diet Coke for myself to take on the Dream. Purchases made we packed everything into our empty carry on and it was time to drive to Port Canaveral.
It was a bit of stop and go but once we hit the motorway it was smooth sailing. Pretty quickly we had left the airport and the first few toll stations behind us.

About an hour into our drive we caught the first glimpse of the ship.

We both were very happy to see the Dream again and soon we had reached the port and made our way over to Disney.

To be continued ...........

Karin, you and Tom are like Celebrities! I will have to be sure and get your autograph when I see you again. LOL!

Oh my! I can't believe how early you were up! But that sunrise was worth getting up early for! Beautiful!

Looks like a beautiful day... still cold though, yes?

How dare they change the menu on you!

YES, how dare they!!! :rotfl2: I think I need to have a word with Wolfgang about it. :rotfl:

Karin, you and Tom are like Celebrities! I will have to be sure and get your autograph when I see you again. LOL!

Guess we are just there too much. :rotfl2:
And instead of autographs we will have to hug a lot and look at pics of your first grandkid. :thumbsup2

Ann, our "bodies" were still on European time and it felt like midday for us, even though the sun was just coming up. We need to stick to the "new time" otherwise I confuse myself too much. :rotfl2:
It was still cold, but the thought of getting onto the DREAM warmed both our hearts. ;)

Oh my goodness - Tom's breakfast pocket is no more :scared1:

I hope you have written a letter to Mr Puck
