Oh the places We Go, The People We see

Keep working on her. Soon you'll hve her over on the dark side. It really didn't take too long for me to bring Katie over! :rotfl:

And what's with this "knock wood" stuff? Seems like you know already how it went and wouldn't need to be knocking on wood.......

Hmmmmm....... :scratchin

I'm mostly knocking on wood so that in future cruise I don't have stormy weather.

Wow...what a gorgeous sunrise, Jen.

Beautiful pictures. We'll probably never do a cruise, so I enjoy seeing all the pictures of the different parts of the ship.

Thanks. I bet you would enjoy it though if you took the plunge.

I agree, I could never get tired of sunrises and sunsets, especially if they are over water.

Why do you say the Teens Club should be the adult area and is poorly planned?

The teen area is private, while the adult area is supposed to be, but the way it's set up, many people walk through without even realizing it's for adults only. I caught myself walking through with Claire a couple of times without meaning too.

Again, great photos, Jen!
I wish we would push ourselves and get up on deck early in the morning once, but we usually just sit on the veranda, taking in the view.
Love the empty ship and guess what - I don't even know where the spa is. :rotfl2:

I love the early mornings, but I know not many people like to get up early like that. But sitting on the verandah is a great option too.
On my first cruise, I nver saw the spa either. But when we toured the ship, we went through it, and this time I thought I would take another look.

When you were waking up to go for your browse around the ship I was landing in Paris :)

:thumbsup2

Continuing on with my tour of the Spa area.

I love to check out the salon as I am licensed to do hair as well.

I thought this was really pretty.

It’s amazing all the services they have onboard. They even had teeth whitening.

I was done there and headed out to explore a bit more.

These are the pool bar stools at the adult pool.

I love the artwork all over the ship.

And a peek into the Quiet Cove Café.

I love this décor.

You could grab a quick snack here if you wanted to.

I just love this blue color here in the Cove Café. When we toured suites on the ship in 2011, this was the color scheme in the room and I loved it there as well.

Onward now.

This is where you get the ice-cream ….when it’s open. The girls loved this spot.

I LOVE this shot.

Well, and this one too!

This is one of those items that I just can’t stop taking pictures of. I have about 7 hundred and 50 zillion pictures of the Aquaduck sign.

This is where the Auqaduck spits you out at. Obviously when it’s running there is water and that gate isn’t covering the opening.

This area was smoking last time I sailed. I am betting they changed it because it had kind of a wind tunnel effect through here at times. ….just a guess.

I am enjoying all your exploration photos! I feel like I am on the ship! Sadly this is as close as I will get to the Dream for a while. Still can't convince my friends that they would enjoy a Disney cruise!

Boy they don't know what they are missing! It's really a lot of fun. I know people like that too. Heck I have a family member like that.

Said it before and I'll say it again....your pictures are wonderful! Can't wait to explore the Dream in a little over the month and looking forward to more updates.

More great shots of the ship...I too feel like I'm right there walking around.

That spa is stunning, and I'm with you...I love those blue colors.

That's Claire, right? ;)

:lmao:

So did it feel like coming home to get back on the Dream after sailing the Fantasy?

After we all finished up with dinner, I took a few more pictures around the dining room. This is when we found that Rasheeta was extra slow. Our drinks did take quite a while to arrive with our meals, and those who had ordered specialty drinks had to wait for the bill. Many nights she just would tell us she would give it to us the next night as it wasn’t ready, and many nights the bills never showed up. Gail ended up going over hers with a fine tooth comb one night from the ship account and found several that were charged to her that she didn’t actually get.

We tried to get a picture of the girls in front of the fountain. Claire of course never looks at the camera.

We needed to get Abby in there.

Abby has a different idea on how to pose! She was lifting her dress up for all the world to see that she wears undies! Gail quickly ran over and told her she can’t do that here.

One more try.

We gave up. 3 squirmy kids does not make for a nice picture.

After dinner, we headed out to get the kids their bands for the kids club. We had to go to the Fantasy Convention room to do so. And boy the line was LONG!

We finally got up there and the computers kept going down so it even took longer, but we did get them all officially signed and ready for the clubs.

A quick stop off in the bathrooms and it was time to head to the show.
I just love the different bathrooms on the Dream. This is one area where they are better than the Magic. Each area seems to have a different theme.

Golden Mickeys was the show tonight. This one is my favorite I think of all the shows I have seen so far. As you can see, Claire’s dress was themed for this night’s show.

It was Gail and I and our girls. Mom and Dad mentioned that they would be coming and we did see them walk in with Geoff, but they were on the other side and made their way to different seats.

The show was great. The girls did have a few moments of being scared, but they did fine. I had tears in my eyes at the end when Abby just gasped. It was so precious.

After the show, we headed out and found Donald. Mom, Dad and Geoff met up with us as well.

Abby was not scared one bit.

She also did not want to leave.

Are those profesional pictures, the ones with disney borders?

Said it before and I'll say it again....your pictures are wonderful! Can't wait to explore the Dream in a little over the month and looking forward to more updates.

Thanks so much. You are going to have such a great time. I hope to have a good chunk of the cruise up before then. Now that I am only writing one TR, I can go faster on this one. I have my next update ready for tomorrow, which is a nice feeling!

More great shots of the ship...I too feel like I'm right there walking around.

That spa is stunning, and I'm with you...I love those blue colors.

Tha spa is really neat. I am not a spa person, but I may someday have to try out something, like a massage or something ...you know just for the experience. LOL

That's Claire, right? ;)

So did it feel like coming home to get back on the Dream after sailing the Fantasy?

NOT! :rotfl2: My Aunt who didn't go on the trip still makes nasty comments about the trip and how stupid we all were. She sails a VERY expensive line all the time, and basically she is mad that we didn't come to her and ask her if she wanted to do something first and let her choose it for all of us. Plus she has no patience for kids.

Do you mean the Magic? I haven't been on the Fantasy yet, but I sure hope to someday!

My mother has now told me twice in the last 2 days that she wants to sail an Alaskan cruise ...with me. I would love to, but I need to find the time ...and money.

Are those profesional pictures, the ones with disney borders?

Yes, the ones with the Disney borders are taken by the ships photographer. My sister bought the CD and picture package and since our girls had a lot of pictures taken together, the facial recognition put most of our pictures in with her room, so it worked out great for both of us. I bought us Disney on ice tickets to pay her for my portion of the CD. It was a win win for both of us.

If we were to ever cruise again, I'm putting "wander around the ship and take tons of pictures like Jen does" on my list of things to do. I never realized how much we missed seeing.

The sunrise is gorgeous and I love all the photos from around the ship. The spa looks amazing. I would find right at home there.

Corinna

Welcome to my newest Trip Report. For those who don’t know me, I am Jen. And then we have baby Luke in the stroller. He is only about 9 months old and what a cutie he is.

I'd like to hear more about how the little one did. DISbaby will be 8.5 months when we go next month.

Tha spa is really neat. I am not a spa person, but I may someday have to try out something, like a massage or something ...you know just for the experience. LOL

See I am a spa person; I get a massage at least every three months, a pedicure every two months, etc. I love my spa time...it is "my treat to myself" time and I love it. You really ought to try a massage sometime...they are truly heavenly.

You must! I know you would love doing that too. Mornings are a good time to do it too.

Corinna

I knew you would be right at home in the spa.

He did well. As Katie says, he didn't complain. LOL She put him in the nursery a few times to get a break and she enjoyed that time. She got a diaper genie (I think you can ask your stateroom host for it, but she did have it noted on her reservation as well. It is work at times, but she did fine. Have family helped. I know she had her mom watch him a few times here and there. Come prepared, as Disney didn't have much in the way of baby supplies. She knew that ahead of time and brought all she needed.

I have had massages, I do like them. I hate spending money on them though. I need to get over that. :rotfl2:

I next headed up to the sports deck.

The putt putt course is just too cute!

A quick look at the ping pong table.

I learned about the sports simulators while touring the Dream in Aug. of 2011. I think they are pretty popular.

Back to more putt putt.

A look off the back of the ship.

I Love this clock!

Foosball!

An artsy look at the Aquaduck!

I then headed back to the room to get ready for the day. Some of the family had started to stir. Dad was really enjoying the balcony as well. I think he really loved this trip. I know he did as he had friends ask if he would ever do it again and he said in a heartbeat!

I just love watching us pull into port.

There were birds all over the place, but they seemed to be attracted to one area of the ship. I am not sure if someone was eating over there or if someone had thrown food, but the birds were going crazy!

CRAZY BIRDS!!!!!

I must’ve popped into the room a minute as I have this picture next. I guess I wanted to be sure to get a picture of our room picture.

bahamaslighthouse1.jpg

And while I was going picture crazy with us pulling into port, Geoff was as well down in their rooms.

We all got ourselves dressed and ready and were going to have breakfast at Enchanted Garden. No one had to be anywhere early. Pete, Vicki, and Jude originally had a port adventure for this morning, but after the hurricane came through, it had been canceled, so they changed their plans and booked the same one we were all going on, which wasn’t till this afternoon.

I’m sure in the midst of getting dressed and ready, we probably ventured down the hall to the others rooms to see if all was ready. Eventually we all did make it down to Enchanted Garden.

I took a couple of quick shots of the buffet as I walked by. This was my first time eating here for a meal other than dinner. I think other family members ate here a couple more times throughout the trip.

We got a table off to the side in an area all to ourselves. I guess they know we can be kind of loud.

This next picture cracks me up. Dad is putting his napkin on his head ….always the life of the party! And there isn’t even a grandchild near him to show it off to. Abby has such a cute little look on her face, Alexis is about to fall asleep, and Claire is grabbing the spoon, which for some reason she is mesmerized by.

Jude looks scared at my picture taking …and see, Claire has that spoon.

I am not sure if she is looking at herself or what? LOL

The ceiling above us was so pretty.

I love walking around the resort and take lots of pictures, and I'm sure I'd love to do it on a cruise ship as well. Doing it early in the morning would be such a great idea, if only I didn't love sleep so much. :lmao:

Seriously, I love that you are showing us so many different areas of the ship. :)
