We will be celebrating our DD13's graduation from Middle School. We gave her a choice to celebrate it after the actual ceremony or when we arrive in Barcelona or on the cruiseship.

She wanted to celebrate it on the cruiseship.

Just starting to get some ideas of what to do.

How fun! We love birthdays! I remember on our last Med Cruise that there were so many celebrations. As we traveled each day on the ship, our entire dinner rotation (parties) in the designated dining room were all excited participants.

It made everyone's dinner special. It was very happy!

It is possible to order a cake. On DCL's website they have a shopping/onboard merchandise area and they have links on celebration-y things as well as how to pre-order cakes, if that's what you're interested in.

Otherwise....let her plan a day? See if they are doing any teen spa activities?

Yes this is a trip full of celebrations. not only is our DD's birthday on the Malta day but my DMIL's birthday is the day before that and father's day is on the first port day.

Cool! We are also celebrating my DD13's graduation from Middle School. This cruise is her present. She picked every PA and activity (with my guidance) and she wants to stay up with me on Silver's check-in night. We're celebrating both the day of the ceremony because family will be with us and on the ship. I'm planning a few surprises for her though (can't go into details in case she reads it here )

We made a door magnet from this thread: Stateroom Mickey Ears - that has a party hat - we'll put that on the door on Nathan's birthday.

And thinking of celebrations - you know we'll be celebrating Father's Day onboard - for those of you who are traveling with Dads (whether your own dad or the dad to your children), are you planning anything special? It's also June 16th - which I just realized - that's Nathan's birthday AND Father's Day - and when he was born in 1996, it was also Father's Day - anyway, it means we'll be in France that day.

I feel for Nathan because I often have to share my bday with Fathers Day and in those years ( which will be next year again) I also sharw my kids bday with mothers day.

Nathan doesn't seem to mind - he says that he never has to get Gary a Father's Day gift because he will never be able to top the day he was born which made Gary become a Father And Gary never cares about it - it's no big deal to him (so he says).

We were on the Alaska cruise in 2011 and Nathan's birthday was on Tracy Arm day. And Father's Day we were in Ketchikan. I think we saw Nathan once that day on the elevator going to get ice cream, and Zach ate dinner with us. They said their gift to Gary was to let him do whatever he wanted all day On Nathan's birthday, we saw him at the movies

Thank you for the heads up! That may have slipped past me. We'll have Dad, Uncles and Grandpa traveling with us! Guess they won't be grilling this year

And thanks for reminding me about Father's day! I have to plan something for my DH. The girls will be so excited.

As for passports, the DDs passports are finally here!!!!

whew! have been worried for a few months about what to do with our furkid while we are enjoying our cruise. finally figured out that she'll be having her own vacation while being boarded. i have a feeling she'll hate us for it but at least i know she'll be safe and well taken care of. now i will be able to enjoy the trip planning and the actual trip without worrying (at least not as much!!).

got a question about booking spa treatments....if we can't book it when we book our excursions are they difficult to book once we get on the ship? is it something we should run right to the spa to reserve. we are just trying to reserve a swedish massage.

now i have to go back and really read the recent posts!

They always have stuff you can book on board and on some days (usually port days they do specials). One hint though. On departure day, they do spa tours. They usually do a raffle and give away free treatments as well.
