Hello,

Planning our meals and I'm looking for a restaurant for our last day for lunch on the monorail after we visit MK. I think I'm more interested in a sit down rather than buffet but we do have a 4yr and almost 2yr old. We tried Kona cafe and although I liked it we wanted to try something new.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The Wave has a nice lunch. The GFC is not bad either (depending on what you order;)). That's about it for TS on the monorail line other than Kona. There are no lunch buffets at the monorail resorts anyway (in the past during extremely busy times they have added one at CMs but not recently).:(

We love Kona Cafe, ironically we eat there for lunch on our last day every trip we go! I love the Polynesian atmosphere!

I was at DW in January and ate at Grand Floridian Cafe for the first time and it was my favorite meal the entire trip!! I had the Red Grouper Filet. Amazing!!
I like Kona too.....haven't eaten there in a few years.

Another vote for GFC. DH & I enjoyed our 2 lunches and there were plenty of families there along with business people (must have been a conference in the GF)

Great, Thanks! Is the Grand Floridian Cafe ok with young kids?

GFC is fine with young kids.:thumbsup2

As far as The Wave, really? none of these would work? (pretty sure they have chick nuggets as most of the restaurants do but just aren't listing this-actually the chick strips would be the same as chicken fingers)

Baked Chicken Strips
Grilled Fish of the Day
Penne Pasta - with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese
Cheese Pizza
Grilled Cheese on rainbow bread
Cheeseburger
Petite Filet -

Don't think they have hot dogs though.

Why wouldnt the GFC be ok for young kids? Any restaurant in disney is fine for kids....the only restaurant I can think of that wouldnt be appropriate would be Victoria & Alberts (kids must be at least 10 yrs old to enter). So you'll be fine! Unless you dont think your kids will behave, thats a totally different story! :) GFC gets my vote.

How about a boat ride over to the Wilderness Lodge, the Whispering Canyon is a great place for kids I think and the resort there is beautiful. If I had to do a lunch in the MK area this would be my choice.

Grand Floridian Cafe
The Wave

Garden View Tea - They have a fabulous Mrs. Potts Tea for the kiddos. I love the Tea Sandwiches, Scones, and jelly tarts. Devine!
It would be a latter lunch because they are open from 2-5pm but worth it and filling.

Love the Ladies that serve here, they are awesome!

:)

NO no all that is fine, I thought the menu was just ok for us.

I didn't know, that's why I asked. I know GF is one of the "fancier" hotels. My kids are good for the most part, but I don't want to deal with dirty looks if they're a little louder. Kids will be kids and want to be respectful of the people who don't want to be around them.

Thanks everyone we decided on GFC, even though the boat idea is a great one, we live in New England and are on boats all the time. I think they'll really get a kick out of the monorail.

I love the tea idea too, which we will definitely try next time. We need to be back to the hotel by 3, so that probably wouldn't work this time!

Thanks again!
