***Official November 2013***

I usually go in Sept/Oct, but this year want to try something different. Right now I'm leaning towards Nov 9-17, but am open to Nov 16-24. Which week is better in terms of crowd levels and potential discounts?

Hi Guys!

I just found this thread and Ill try to catch up! I just wanted to introduce myself. Myself, DH, DD (then &) and my mom will be there Nov. 10-21. Were also meeting 3, possibly 4 other families there.

Wed like to rent points but Im not sure what well be able to find. HOPING for Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom but were not too picky.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

It's official! We have FINALLY committed to a plan and booked our trip. Nov 6-11 at the Poly. Can't wait!!!

Add us to the Magic! I'm new to the boards and trying to get better-prepared than I was before our trip two years ago which we planned in 45 days. ;-) We are planning a trip for 11/15-24 (flexible) with a homeschool group that is getting wonderful rates on tickets but no room deals yet. So for the time being we are booked through USAA at the Embassy Suites off-property for an avg. of $86/night with free hot breakfast buffet. We are of course keeping our ears to the ground for a comparable on-property rate, but the bottom line for this trip is cost-effectiveness. We weren't planning a trip this year but Carolina Homeschooler's rates are so good and the dates cover BOTH my younger kids' birthdays, so we decided to make it happen if we possibly could! We are driving, too, so that we can bring in food and save even more money. I'm just so excited to be going at all since we thought we were going to have to wait until Fall '14!

Happy to be here,
Jen

Count us in! We'll be at the ASMu in a family suite for our first family trip 11/2-11/9. It's going to be myself, DH, DS (5.5 like some others I noticed!), my Mom and her Fiance. My Mom and I were last at Disney in '95, the hubs was last there in '98 and it will be DS and Papa's first trip!

Can't wait! Now back to read through the last 30ish pages!!:rotfl2:

My son will be 5.5 as well on this trip!!!! :) Isn't it so exciting?!? Although, I might be coming one of *those* people - a resort switcher!!! :rotfl: I'm booked at POR, but my friend has been able to get us an awesome rate at ASMu and AoA. I'm not for sure if we'll switch yet, but who knows? Maybe I can get into the Poly or Contemporary!!! Where's the "fingers crossed" smilie?

Congrates! I am in envy that you have pinned down your dates. We just can not decide we want to go early Nov but also hopeing for a RO discount or FD so keep going back to Oct dates :confused3

Can not wait for JB to release 10/27- Nov dates if we can get a good deal on air that will help us decide

Hello! I am new to DIS and I just found this group. This will be my family's fourth trip to WDW this November. Our tentative days are Nov. 17-27 and I am very excited even though it's 251 days away.

I too am hoping for free dining and possibly room discounts like last year.

Ok change of plans. My account was too hard to find so PM me if you would like to join the Facebook group for information.

Hi, figmentswife. I haven't met my post quota yet; therefore, I am unable to send you a PM. Are you able to send me a PM and I can provide you with my information. I would love to be a part of the FB group.

Welcome to the group. We will be there the 17th-23rd!! I hear you on the countdown but it will be here before we know it.

Soooo exciting! Does he know you're going? We haven't told ours yet...

It's funny, after reading you talking about the POR in the last 36 pages I started to get worried about my choice at the ASMu and started looking into POR last night. :rotfl2: I think I'll stick with my first choice though.

I'm trying to get my post count up so I can send a PM to get into the FB group and post my PTR (can't add pics til 10 posts!). Sometimes it sucks being a noob. =P

Hello, everyone!!! :wave2:

For those not in the FB group, my family changed our plans last night. We are no longer staying at POR.........WE ARE STAYING AT OKW!!!!!

I am so excited (and so is my hubby for all the extra space). I've always wanted to stay there and last night we had the chance for either the Poly, the Contemporary or OKW. I know a lot of my DIS friends are staying at the Poly and I can't say I haven't always wanted to stay there, but I have to admit that OKW calls to us more. All the space in the 1 bedroom villa is going to be totally awesome. As will be the appliances!!! Oh - and the separate bedroom from the kids!!!

(can you tell how excited I am?!? :rotfl:)

So, now the plans change a little. And I'm trying to make myself ok with that (I have OCD and don't do well with plan alterations). So, obviously I will not be waiting with baited breath for free dining. And I worked the numbers, it would cost my family approximately $2,169 for the dining plan. We would not eat that much food....ever. Yes, it's nice to try new places to eat, but we've done that the last two trips and I think hubby & I both agree we don't want to be tied down with dining reservations (you know....we have to get to Japan by such and such time because we have a reservation and you're all the way by The Living Seas). There were a couple of restaurants we wanted to try this time around (like Coral Reef and T-Rex Cafe), but it won't be the end of the world.

OKW looks wonderful and I can't wait to see it. Does anyone else have experience here?

If you use mypoints you can earn Landry's gift cards, which you can use at TRex. We paid OOP for TRex last time and I would again if I don't do DDP.

No experience at OKW but looks great!

What is the name of the FB group?
OM me your real name (and location or avatar pic) and I will send you a friend request. Then, I can add you to the FB group. :goodvibes

Thank you!!! Looking in to mypoints right now.

FigmentChick:

You will love OKW! We have stayed there twice in Bldg 62 which is up front within easy walking distance of the pool and the main bldgs. We had a 1 bedroom both times. The only downfall was that there is only one bathroom and it is only accessible through the master bedroom. Kinda of an odd arrangement but we made it work.

We had a room that overlooked one of the holes on the golf course. It was so quiet sitting on the balconey enjoying breakfast each morning. There is plenty of room. If I am correct OKW is the one with the biggest rooms.

The main restaurant Olivia's is excellant. There is also a little walk up take out place by the pool. There is a community hall to do crafts, play games or even rent DVD's.

There is a boat to DTD and bus service to everywhere else. The whole place is just very calming and the staff was wonderful. Enjoy your trip!

*runs to abbreviation page and considers bookmarking it* :rotfl: Someday I'll be well versed in these abbreviations! maybe.

I know nothing about the different resorts, other than my very short research before I booked, but it looks and sounds awesome!!

I need to go find some more threads to reply to so I can have 10 posts and get in on the fb action!

Finally planning our trip to the world for my son's 10th birthday. Last time we stayed at WL, but now are looking at other options. We are trying to make this as cost-effective as we can, but both DH and I love staying at the resorts and want to make this a magical trip for our son. Looking at Nov. 13-19 possibly. His birthday is the 16th. :)

Welcome to all the new members!!! Sorry I have not been good about checking this threadat all. Been very busy. I try to keep up top date on the FB group though. Hope you all come and join us over there!!! Happy planning to everyone!!!!

My daughter's birthday is the 16th!!! :rotfl: She will be 14 this year and, yes, we are celebrating her birthday in Disney even though we won't be there on "the day". I'm being a horrible mom and making her wear the button. :lmao:
