We are using Disney's transportation from Port Canaveral to the airport. We are flying on Delta. Can someone please explain how it works?

From reading some of the threads, it looks like we put our luggage outside of our room the night before. I guess that means we have to put our pajamas and bathroom things in a carry-on when we get up in the morning.

I would like to get off the ship as soon as possible because our flight leaves at noon. Is there a certain time when we can leave the ship or do we just walk off when we are finished with breakfast? Do we get on a waiting bus? Will our luggage be taken to the airport and checked in or will it be under the bus that we travel in?

Can we print our boarding passes on the ship? With Delta we already have our seat assignments, but I like to print the boarding passes 24 hours in advance. Does anyone know how much it would cost to print 5 boarding passes on the ship?

Thanks. These might be stupid questions, but this is our first cruise and I seem so lost not knowing so many things.

I'm pretty sure you can only print the boarding passes onboard if you pay for an Internet connection. You pay by the minute unless you buy a package. Not sure what you do on the Dream and Fantasy, I don't think they have an internet cafe or printers for the public.

Thank you. I am sure that it would take me less than 5 minutes to log on and print the passes. Paying for the internet sounds like it would be worth it so that it will be one less thing to deal with at the airport.

We'll be on the Fantasy. I guess it they don't have a printer available to the public then I will be out of luck and just have to wait.

Don't be so sure. The online connection is ridiculously slow and the per minute charge is not cheap. I think it's 75 cents a minute now. You can ask at Guest Services and see what they say. If it's not an emergency I'm not sure they will agree to do it. You can always print them at kiosks when you arrive at the airport so you dont have to wait in line just to print them.

You can participate in DCL's onboard checkin option. When you checkin at the port for your cruise, let them know that you want to do this.

DCL will check you in for your flight and print your boarding passes to be delivered to your room onboard.

Then, the last night, you place your checked bags outside your room (usually by 10:00pm). DCL will collect them, and the next time you see them will be at your home airport. And remember to leave out clothes to wear that next morning for travel. Then, in the morning, you go to breakfast and disembark. Go through Customs and then get on the DCL transport bus. Once at the airport, you just go through security and to your gate.

Easy-peasy.

No stupid questions.

Yes, you can do the onboard checkin and they will do it all for you. You need to arrange for this before you board though. I think it is available for Delta.

I never do this, so I focused on your request to print them yourself.

This does sound like the easiest option. Do you know approximately how much they charge per person?

I do not believe there is a charge for the onboard checkin service. I could be wrong but I've never heard of anyone being charged for it. But you should arrange for it before you board.

Thanks TDC Nala. If it's not too expensive, then I think we'll do the onboard check-in.

I just read your responses. No charge. That's great. I thought there was a charge for everything.:rotfl:

No charge for this service. As long as you're using DCL transfers OR your airfare was purchased through DCL, and your flight departs after 11:30 am, on a participating airline, all you have to do is sign up for the service.

Thank you. Yes, we are using DCL transportation and our Delta flight departs at noon. If Delta participates, then it looks like we are good.

I don't want to start a new thread for this quick question. Are there ATM machines on the ship?

No, no ATMs on board. While you're on the ship you don't use cash, except possibly to tip room service. Get any cash you need before you board.

ATMs in foreign ports often have a fee for use.

Thank you. I was hoping there would be a machine onboard so I wouldn't have to carry much cash. We probably don't need much. We have to tip for the excursions and might make a few inexpensive purchases at the ports.

Just thought you might like it in Disney's words...
