We're Disney newbies-- can someone explain pin codes? I know they're a long code for a discount... But do you get them if you've already booked? Thanks!

Hi! Disney sometimes sends out emails and postcards that offer special Walt Disney World resort rates or deals to the recipients that are not available to the general public. For example, you may receive an email offering you the opportunity to take advantage of free dining if you book before a certain time or offering you a deluxe room at 35% off the going rate for a particular period. Disney uses a PIN (Personal Identification Number) so that only the recipient can use the code. I am not sure if people get sent them after already booking. I have only received them prior to booking before. Hope this helps.

This is a little off topic from a pin code, but I want to be one of those dorky moms who has the entire family dressed a lot. Partly because it will be easier to keep up with 4 kids if they are all dressed the same. So for our trip to Disney I would like to get several sets of matching shirts, some disney. Any suggestions on where to get some cheap matching shirts in adult and kid sizes?

Just got off the phone with WDW...I asked about discounts for past June 14th. I mentioned that it seemed to be taking forever for them to come out this year. She said that fact would be an indicator that there might not be anything offered for summer travel this year and went into this long spiel about how the economy is up, the stock market is up, prices are rising and crowd levels are higher yada yada....then proceeded to kind of pressure me into booking at that moment instead of waiting.

I wonder if what she said was really true or if it just was a sales tactic to try and make her call conversion?? I find it hard to believe that Disney won't offer ANY specials for summer visits this year. When I mentioned that we go to Disney every 2 years for the last 10 years, she said "Well, this is not 2 years ago!" She was kind of snotty actually...not what you'd expect from a Disney CM.

Don't give up hope on the discounts. The summer discounts do not normally come out until the Spring offer ends - that will be March 31. Probably see something the first week in April or so.

I have been waiting and I, like others, am starting to believe there is nothing coming out this year. I also noticed you are going this June. Have you already booked? I was considering booking this week, but I hate to book and then a pin come out and not get it because I am already booked.

Yes, I have gotten a free dining pin for the past 3 years for summer. We did book this year because we are using the spring promo. Last year we hadn't booked first. Hopefully that won't make a difference. We weren't going without it last year.

We have gotten a pin the last two years. I really just don't understand the hold up this year. It is certainly making me think perhaps there will not be a summer pin. I do plan to go either way, but I am not sure I will purchase the dining plan. I have 4 people, all paying adult prices. I guess we can just keep our fingers crossed.

I also got pin codes for free dining in July the last three vacations. I haven't booked our vacation for July yet either. We probably will still go this year but we will not purchase the dining plan. I am really hoping for some type of discount for July this year.

I've got to believe that something will come out after this promo is over, like the 1st week of April. We've budgeted and will pay rack rate (begrudgingly) if we have to - but I really really don't want to! Come on Disney, show us some summer love!

I agree... I would gladly take a 30% off Moderate room!! Free dining would be amaaazing though!!

In the past, I got the free dining summer pin in February. That's why I feeling discouraged right now.
