Chances of getting specific sold out excursions once on board?

We are doing the Med with a bunch of my family this June. Originally we were going to book private excursions, but my mom has since become sick and we've all decided to do Disney excursions instead. I was able to sign me, my husband and our kids up for what we want (we're Silver) but I'm worried that the excursions we're booked on will be sold out before I can sign my other family members up.

Are some spots held back for booking onboard? Does anyone know if they hold back spots on each excursion or just some? I'll need to sign my aunt, uncle and father up once their booking window opens. It's likely my mom will stay onboard the whole time.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you! pixiedust:

They do not hold back excursions. If they are booked, keep checking back until the cruise is pulled three days before you sail. If you still can't get what you want, then go to Port Adventures (they will be in the terminal before you board or opposite Guest Services after you board) and ask to be waitlisted.

AFAIK, unlike Palo reservations, all slots are available for online booking. Once they are full, they are full. Sometimes they might add an additional time for really popular excursions. And I know they maintain a waiting list onboard to fill in for people who cancel last minute.

Excursions are not like Palo ressies, where they do hold some back. All spots are available for pre-booking. Once it is sold out, the only way to get a spot is to be put on a waiting list. If they have enough people on the wait list, they will contact the tour operator to see about adding busses or whatever --if they can. Otherwise, you only get a spot if there is a cancellation.

Excursions aren't held for onboard booking. You can do a wait list, or you can get a spot if they choose to add new departure times, extra tours, or someone cancels.

I appreciate the speedy responses! I don't like the answer, but we'll figure something out :rotfl:
