Anniversary Dinner!

My DH and I are taking a kiddo-free anniversary trip to the World the very end of September! We will only be there three nights and due to the F&W festival I don't plan on doing the DDP this time. I'm thinking we'll spend most of our time eating F&W food, so will most likely only make 1 or 2 ADR's.

If you had to pick one place to eat with your love to celebrate your anniversary... where would it be?

We are doing the same thing but in the beginning of October. I suggest since you are kid free to go signature. We love the California Grill (not sure of its rehab sched though) if you can get an ADR during Wishes, it is beautiful, something about standing out there holding hands is romantic. On our trip (4 nights) we are going to try Artist's Point, Citrico's and Flying Fish my oldest is 3 so on our trips we often skip signature dining because its not as kid friendly.

Victoria and Alberts. I would love to go back with my hubby. I went with my sister several years ago and it was amazing.
You cannot beat the ambiance and experience.

If you will already be in Epcot for the F&W, maybe scoot out the International Gateway by France and get over to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. at the Yacht & Beach Club.

Just a short walk (or boat ride) over so no buses or cabs to get there, and then a nice after dinner walk back to Epcot

In order of preference and descending price:
1. Victoria & Albert's (by a long shot)
2. Bull & Bear (Waldorf-Astoria)
3. Todd English's bluezoo
4. Il Mulino

Bull & Bear doesn't get mentioned here much, since the Waldorf is not an official Disney resort, but the Bonnet Creek resort area is actually less remote than some of the Disney properties. B&B is a fantastic adult dining place, with outstanding steaks and seafood. Other than the real A5 Wagyu beef at Victoria & Albert's, Bull & Bear has the best steaks in the area, including an Allen Brothers' 45-day dry aged NY steak. Classier and a more inventive menu than Shula's and in an entirely different league than Yachtsman (for not that much more money).

Victoria & Albert's, though it is costly. Artist Point has good food and superb ambience. California Grill (which should be open by late Sept) has wonderful food and great views.

Victoria and Albert's would be the first choice.

Second would be Flying Fish, a late seating to avoid some of the noise issues. Mostly because it was DW and my first kids-free date at WDW, so it has a sentimental place in our hearts in addition to the fantastic food and service.

Third would be Jiko, as I think it's the most romantic restaurant interior at WDW.

Fourth pick would be Narcoossee's, for the waterside location, and the walk over to the Poly to see Wishes from the beach.

Too many good places, sorry I couldn't narrow it down more.

IF V&A is out due to $$$$, then I'd pick Shulas (for steak) Blue Zoo for seafood, Il MUlino for Italian, and Citricos (as the best of the Disney operated spots).

we are doing a special date night out during our trip in October to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Splurging a bit on V&A - really looking forward to it

In the past we did a date-night to California grill and absolutely loved it - though now we bring the kids

Anyone who isn't limited to DDP restaurants should seriously consider the Swan & Dolphin restaurants (bluezoo, Il Mulino, Shula's). Most people here will recommend the Disney run restaurants, because that's what they've tried on DDP. That doesn't necessarily mean they're the best. In our opinion, it's the opposite. For example, we think bluezoo is a good step up from Flying Fish, but you'll see more recommendations for FF due to it taking DDP.

For DDP restaurants, Artist Point is very good with a nice atmosphere. We haven't eaten at Citricos, but we feel the other Disney run signatures we've tried have a great atmosphere or great food, but not both. They can also be very inconsistent. Paul Monsieur had both, when it was Le Bistro. I don't know if that's still the case now that they accept DDP. DDP has a way of changing restaurants, & not for the better.
