Ive never heard of secret mickeys I dont think were planning on it. Whats a villian night? This will be my 7th dcl cruise and ive never seen one of those

I had never heard of either before but I have been reading other groups discussions and quite a few listed villains night, there is a villain show and special villain menu and i guess some people dress up for it. It is in addition to the pirate night and is only done on the longer cruise. People posted pics of the menu and it sounded like a fun night.

As for the Secret Mickey's, I am also going on the transatlantic cruise in September 2014 and this was one of other things listed that will be going on so I looked it up as well. It is basically a secret Santa. You buy or make a gift for 1 other person and the group chooses a spending limit (most are $20 - $30).
I just thought it sounded fun. I am participating in both the FE exchange and the Secret Mickey on my 2014 cruise.

Hi! I love the Villians show! It is kind of dorky, but one of my favorites! I have also done the Secret Mickey with other groups. I think the European ones tend to be a little more difficult with packing limitations, lol! :)

Thanks for the info. I know they do the villians show but never saw anyone dress up. We were on the 10 day med in 2010 and they didnt do one. Apparently in the past they did a whole villian themed cruise. That may be where the pics are from.

So we looked it up. It seems the villians parties pop up on the transatlantic cruises because there are so many sea days. I dont expect to see one on this cruise. Too port intensive

Thanks for the feedback on the Magic Fountains. It was helpful. Still deciding what night we want to go. :scratchin. I was initially wanting to go on our first night (Wednesday the 12th). And then my other thought is Thursday night after the first Renaissance meet-up night since the fountains don't start until 9p. If anyone else is interested in going that night, maybe we could go together as a small group. But thanks again to all who gave input. :goodvibes

I added the Meet information that's been planned so far to the June 15 Cruisers post in my sig line - also here: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=43894659&postcount=214. I'll be glad to add any more info / announcements as well.

We did Secret Mickeys with the kids when we did a Christmas cruise - it was fun. But for a trip like this one that's so port intensive and involves extensive travel to get there, we're just interested in doing the Fish Extenders (which we really enjoy - so fun to come back after a long day or wake up in the morning to find a surprise).

I just looked up the days / times for the Magic Fountains:

Operating hours from 30th April to 30th September:
Thursday to Sunday, 9pm – 11:30pm
Musical displays: 9pm, 9:30pm, 10pm, 10:30pm and 11pm

We were thinking we'd go when we got back from our cruise but we'll be back on a Tuesday. So if we go, we'll go Friday evening, June 14th. I know we'll be too tired on the 13th.

Thanks. Whoops, it was right in the book no shows Mon-Wed and I totally missed it. So Wednesday is out. And we can't go Friday because we need that evening to organize ourselves and Skype with our family before we are no longer available. Thursday it is for me. Thanks for the correction. :)

All the talk about the Magic Fountain makes me more anxious to go on the cruise.

When we went to see the Magic Fountain, I had no idea what the big deal was until I went.

It's unlike the Fountains in Las Vegas.

So many people show up, families, dates, tourists, etc. It's a very relaxed and beautiful site.

We were so tired from just arriving earlier in the day, but we had to keep up with the new time zone.

We didn't want to miss our time to leave for the cruiseship the next day.

I just remember thinking about how tired I was and the children were ready to go.

On the day that we were scheduled to check out the hotel, I remembered taking a taxi to the cruiseship even though it appeared that we could have walked to the port.

I am glad that we did, because that was a high bridge and we had 6 pieces of luggages.

Anyways, thanks for the memories!!!:yay:

Yes we did find the facebook group. Our DD's are both currently 12 but one will be turning 13 the day we are in Malta

Malta is a great place to spend a birthday...that's where I spent mine in 2010 :)!
