Hi everyone, so my wife and I have narrowed all the 1 Bedroom resorts down to two, BLT and AKV. We need a second bathroom for my mother-in-law and found out that these are the only two resorts that offer 2 bathrooms! Help us choose lol! Here is a little background on our family and previous visits. My wife, her mother, my 1yr 4mo old son and myself will be going on this trip in July for a 1 week stay. We did BLT in 2011 and loved it so much with MK right next door, the monorail, Quick Service, Lake View, and cleanliness of a new resort. We have never stayed at AKV and have heard great reviews and poor reviews when it came to no QS and distance from the parks. We heard the kids pool area at Kidani is amazing and the savanna views cannot be beat. Our favorite resorts in order are MK, EPCOT, AK, HWS. I would like to try something new (In this case AKV) but my wife is leaning more towards BLT. Will AKV be a hassle with a toddler vs. the easy "hop on the monorail" at BLT? My wife as put the final decision in my hands ;) ! I just want to make the right decision so everyone is happy. I keep saying to myself that the monorail is so nice, but counter that thought with "how cool will it be to sit on the balcony and watch the animals!" Thank you!

would stick with BLT until your child is older. walking to the MK is great with a baby.

now if you could go with just one bathroom - then might suggest VWL it is kind of like AKV - it was designed by the same architect.

With a toddler you will be spending a lot of time at MK, it will be nice to be super close. It's also great at night to be able to push a child sleeping in a stroller back to the hotel or on a monorail, instead of having to take them out of the stroller and carry them.

That said, I did really like Kidani. You really can't go wrong either way.

It will also be easier at BLT if your MIL returns earlier in the evening with your toddler while you and your wife stay out. She can get on the monorail from MK or Epcot with your son in the stroller and not have to worry about having to carry him and the stroller.

Another part of the decision will be your Mother-in-Law. Will she be a help or hinderance. We've traveled with my Mom and it was like having another kid. If you are on Monorail it will be easier for just Grandmom to head back if she wants or take baby for a nap or back to the pool. I have only stayed at Jambo House when at AKV and love that because of the QS there and the pool and the massive Lobby, feels like a resort (Unfortunately that does not address bathroom issue). I know a lot of people love Kidani but for the reasons above I would only stay at Jambo. A plus to BLT is that if you and your wife to get a chance to head out for a night you have all the monorail resorts for dinner and or drinks plus a short boat ride to WL

No answers here, and no wrong choice.

Thanks so much everyone. As it stands tonight its 60/40 in favor of AKV, but that could change overnight lol. The only thing that is keeping me back from AKV Kidani is no QS and longer bus rides. Also, some people have said that you cannot really enjoy the balcony in the summer heat, what do you guys think?

We stayed at AKV with my then 2.5 year old niece and have stayed at BLT with my own children. Without a doubt, hands down I would stay at BLT anyday with toddlers over AKV, especially Kidani. The no CS was a pain in the rear and only having the buses to use wasn't as convenient for sure. About the pool. Honestly, your child is a baby. A lot of the play area at the pool will be too old for him. BLT had a plainer pool but it's still enough for a very young toddler. As for the balcony, we went in May and it can get a bit warm while sitting out there. We didn't spend as much time out there adithought we would.

We really liked AKV but the convenience of BLT will win out for a while. We loved the walkway to the MK and the monorail to Epcot. Sorry, but I have to side with your wife on this one.

To me, there shouldn't even be a debate. I have never been a big fan of AKL because of its location. If you're going to be spending most of trip in parks, you cannot stay there because it is just too far from everything and inconvinent.

BLT is amazing. The location cannot be beat and it is a top notch place. I think it is beautiful and all of the amenities right there are very nice.
