Dania & Jesus - 01/18/14 - CT/Attic/UK Vow Renewal PJ {UPDATE: Overall Budget}

Just seeing your PJ. Loving everything! The wish box is absolutely beautiful! I'll be following along!

My dress came in and I stopped by to pick it up. :cool1: My darling hubby snapped a pic of me in it before we left the store.

My BFF thinks I have a Marilyn Monroe vibe going on with the dress. :rotfl2: That slayed me, it really did.

I just found your PJ and I must say-- everything looks amazing! (That DRESS!!!)

BATB is my favoritest Disney movie and all your wedding choices have made me smile! They're perfect!!! :flower3:

We're getting married at WDW sometime in April of 2014 (we're still waiting on our date, as April of 2014 is going to apparently be a crazy month at DFTW) and it's great to see another BATB-loving bride on here! <3

I also saw that you are going to have two little "Belle" flower girls and a "Chip" in your wedding-- that is just too cute! My ringbearer and flower girl will also be dressed as Disney characters and I think that is just so perfect! (If I had to be in a wedding as a kid, I DEFINITELY would have preferred being dressed as a Disney Princess.)

Anyways, will be following along! Best of luck!

Thanks! The Wish Box is actually one of my favorite things I've found for the VR too.;)

Congratulations! Another April 2014 bride and another bride that loves BATB!:yay: As soon as you start planning, keep us all posted so we can follow along.

I always wanted to dress my flower girl/ring boy as Disney characters, but my wedding was in a church and it just didn't look right. Now I not only get a chance to do all the little Disney-esque I wanted to do the first time around, I have the unique opportunity to include my children in this special day.

They are just as excited as we are. My hubby and I want to honor each other after 10 years of marriage, but we also want to give thanks for the blessings that are our children.

Since we are fast approaching the 1yr mark, I have been working on finalizing our 'save the date' cards to send them out as soon as we hit that magic number.

I worked on a design of my own I posted earlier that incorporated our "slogan" but I kept holding off on printing them up. Something just didn't seem right. Then I talked to my hubby about them, he being the perceptive fellow I fell in love with quickly pointed out the obvious - they just weren't "us". They were just too cutesy. Not that there is anything wrong with cutesy, it's just not reflective of our personalities. But I still really wanted something that said "disney" without being too much. I found the most perfect STD cards on Etsy (of course) and I just got my printable proof today. So here is the finished product:

It's Disney, but not frothy, in-your-face Disney. LOVE THEM! :lovestruc

Thanks, John, for such an adorable design!

I've enjoyed reading about your plans and just realized - Hooray! You're in single digits!! :cool1: How are things going?

Kathy

Joining in! I adore your dress, it's so gorgeous! I love, love, love that you are going to have little Belles and Chips at your wedding, that is going to be too perfect! Love the BatB theme and everything! The new STDs are really fabulous, I love the subtle Disney look of them.

Looking forward to reading more! :goodvibes

Things are going great. I've got everything booked, and now I'm just sitting back for a bit until things get closer. Sending out the STD cards next week.:yay:

First, congrats on being so close to your special day :cheer2:

I've been so lucky with the planning process with the exception of a couple of hiccups along the way (getting vendors to respond can be a pretty big pain in the tush for some reason. Don't they want my money?:rotfl:)

Thank you for the dress compliment. It's the one thing that both my wedding and VR had in common... I saw my dresses and I knew they were perfect. I stopped the shopping around and said "That's it. I'm done".

And the BatB theme is really my own little dream come true. I simply cannot wait to see it all become a reality.

A few small items arrived this week so I thought I'd share them with everyone:)

First up is the jewelry. I wanted to keep things very simple when it came to dressing up with jewelry (I'm not a big jewelry girl). I hate necklaces, so I'm just focusing on earrings and a bracelet (my wedding band and engagement ring will cap things off).

This is the bracelet I chose....a cyrstal embellished bangle (don't really like shapeless bracelets either:rotfl2:)

So I wanted to incorporate something "Disney" into my wardrobe, and I found these simple earrings I just fell in love with. THe little crystal dangling Mickey ears are adorable.:goodvibes

I also received my shoes and purse!!! So excited for these shoes. I was taking a chance on pairing red shoes with my ivory dress, but I wanted to do something to spice up the look and make it less "bridal" since this is a renewal. I just love the finished product. (And, yes, I have huge feet)

And this is the purse I had dyed to match the shoes.

That's all for now folks.:wave2:

Love the accessories! The shoes are going to look so sharp! And I adore that bracelet, that's exactly the kind of thing I want too.

I love that bracelet so much. It's gorgeous in person and really stands out. Glad you liked it.:thumbsup2

BTW, there's a similar one available here

Well, where to begin. I suppose the most important change we've been forced to make is a date change. We've moved from April 2014 to January 2014:scared:

I am officially freaking out!

I was unaware that the State of Florida is conducting their FCAT testing in the schools the week before and after my original date. Of course, no one will pull their kids from school to attend during this time. So we re-scheduled the VR for January. No I have to contact ALL MY VENDORS :-)sad2:) to change the dates (and pray that they aren't already scheduled on my new date).

I'll keep you posted on my progress. So far I've been successful with the luncheon at The Attic. I'm still waiting to hear from my planner about the Swan ceremony site, but I'm hopeful. The photog, videographer, make-up and officiant will have to wait until I lock in the date at the Swan.

As I said earlier in my post, OFFICIALLY FREAKING OUT!!!!!!

YES!!!!!! I GOT ALL MY DUCKS IN A ROW!!!!:thumbsup2

ALL MY VENDORS WERE AVAILABLE FOR THE NEW DATE!!!!:cool1:  :woohoo:

Thank you baby jesus!!!!:worship:

I've already informed all my potential guests about the date change and half of my 50 guests have rsvp'd.::yes::

And it's also going to be a less expensive trip since we will now be visiting during value season. :dance3:

Just need to change two small items I ordered with the old date on them and I'll be completely done.

Plus, the best thing to come out of this change.....WE GET TO HAVE OUR DESSERT PARTY AT EPCOT!!! My original date was blocked out because of spring break, but my new date in January is open so we're getting our dessert party at the UK Upper Terrace just as we originally wanted ( I really do love those damn umbrella tables ::yes::)

First, I love all the accessories! That red is beautiful! Yay! All the vendors were available for your date! AND a DP?! That's awesome.

Yay! That's fantastic news! Glad everything is working out, all your vendors are available and you get your dessert party! And saving money too? Excellent!

Finally got word on the customized dessert party menu we requested. The chef priced it out for us, and it came out to less than what we had expected ($28.00 pp). YAY!

These are the desserts we asked for:

- tiramisu stemware
- warm apple crumble with granola streusel
- chocolate peanut butter marshmallow squares
- chocolate peanut butter cupcakes
- school bread (from Norway)
- assorted cookies

This also includes fruit punch and the coffee/teas station.

We're also having sodas and bottled waters to be billed on consumption.

YAY, YAY, YAY!!!! I loooooove me some school bread. :woohoo:

So I've started to tackle a few small DIY projects early on since I'm not too busy during the summer. My first project are these door hangers for our guests. I'll include them in their welcome bags. This is certainly not my idea. I borrowed it from a few brides here, mainly Beth's "Rockin Around the World" vow renewal which I loved so much.

This is the one I'm making for the guests:

And in keeping with the underlying Beauty and the Beast theme, I made this one for us:

I also received our sand ceremony set in the mail today. I'm so glad I went with this set. It's even more lovely in person. This is from the website:

We will have the center jar and 4 smaller vases (one for my husband, one for myself, and one for each of the boys) The colors we are using are red, gold, black and ivory.

So that's it for now.
