Oh my goodness, Boma's breakfast is absolutely magnificent! Definitely try it sometime. I have pictures of the entire buffet on a TR if you're interested.

franandaj I've never seen that many different animals at one time on the savannah! Amazing! Do you remember what time of day those were taken?

Kim are you any closer to any PA airports? We use ABE but sadly, after 4/8 there will be no more non-stops to MCO. I think I actually cried real tears when they annouced that! We have Allegiant, and while they flew to MCO they were great, but they're now back to Sanford only. Then Airtran came & went, now Frontier ran its course as well.

PHL has tons of non-stops to MCO, Wilkes Barre used to have a few as well.

Good luck!
TaraPA, I'm in the same boat but with Harrisburg. We took the non-stop Frontier flight to Orlando this past January and it was fabulous. They're still booking through September, but the schedule is changing a lot between now and then. By then, they'll fly to MCO on Mondays and Fridays. Which seems odd to me. You'd think they'd fly at least on the weekends if they continued to fly from Harrisburg. I think I'd rather drive to Philly and have a non-stop flight than deal with a layover and possible missed connection. We could also try Spirit Air out of Atlantic City, but I've heard mixed to bad reviews of that airline.

On the plus side, I asked my husband if I should look into renting DVC points for next January. He sighed, then said, "You might as well." :thumbsup2

tarak - the group of ladies I travel to Disney with flies out of MDT sometimes! Usually the ones from Reading & Schulylkill County. Frontier is leaving ABE as of 4/8....we're taking them next week. For my April trip I had to book USAir with a connection in Charlotte. Blech!

Question for anyone - I know the shop in Kidani sells Entemann's donuts & pastry products, and has a large refridgerator/freezer section ...does the shop at Jambo as well? I can't seem to picture it in the Jambo shop. We're in a 1BR villa next week at Jambo & wanted to get some breakfast items. I was hoping not to have to run over to Kidani.

Another question - does anyone know if the Entemann's products are regular retail (like $4.99-$6.99) or are they marked up? They're BOGO at my store this week - I'm tempted to stock up & take them with me!

I remember seeing a fridge section and pastry type stuff. It is on the far back wall to the left if you walk in from the lobby. I didn't look extensively at what they had, but I saw someone buying frozen pizza, etc. If they have that they have to have donuts, right? Either way, I would stock up while it is on sale, you know it will not be BOGO anywhere on Disney Property!

We have been home for a week now....I am getting depressed that we are not going back for 2 more years :(

Jetblue flies nonstop to orlando from white plains. obviously not as convenient as newark (i grew up in bergen county and always flew from EWR, too), but probably much less of a pain to get to than LGA, and Jetblue is usually great. just an idea. :)

thanks for the info JillMc40!

Don't the Post-Disney blues just suck the life out of you?!?!?!?!?

Assuming Frontier goes the way of AirTran at MDT, or the schedule doesn't work for us, we'll probably take an AirTran flig out of BWI. The drive isn't that horrible (although I despise driving on 83S), and the prices are decent.

I'd probably take the BOGO offer, too. This past trip, we used the QS dining plan, and it was almost perfect for us (especially since we could get fruit and carrots for the dessert). But next year, our oldest will be ten. Not sure it's worth the extra $20 per day for her (although the adult meals are usually more to her liking in terms of food offered, she just doesn't eat that much).

Yeah my sis and I have been trying all surrounding airports up here. Its always cheaper flying out of jfk though and lga. She couldn't even get good spirit air fares from AC.:confused3

got it. that stinks. :( now that we're four hours closer (DC area), we've been driving because it's do-able in one day. From bergen county, not so much.

good luck finding flights!

I hear ya. Yeah i did the drive twice when the kids were younger. Also did it without stopover & after working a reg. day too. 18 hrs.:confused3

I actually have my flights. Had them since September. Got Delta from lga for $241. Early 7:00 am flight going there and a later 6:55 pm coming home. Its my sister Kimmar who is trying to do a last minute trip in short notice.

Is it white plains or westchester that doesn't have parking? I have done that airport once...How can you not have parking at an airport?? Luckily my MIL drove us, but that is some fine print you don't want to miss! Well, ok, fine, they have a teeny tiny lot that is full as soon as 5 cars park there...Orbitz actually tells you when you buy tickets...So Silly!

I can't even get into planning the next one yet, I have to wait a year, but that will give me a year to investigate all the resorts...DD wants to go back to GF, DH and DS liked AKL, and I want to try something new... We go in bulk (3 trips in one year time) so maybe we can all be happy :grouphug:

What about Albany? We are in nepa, and its eqidistance (or close enough) to check PHL ALB JFK EWR and LGA. Plus parking and in/ out at Albany is easier.

We love Boma breakfast. We have skipped it the last couple of trips and DH begged me to add it to this upcoming trip, especially since we will be staying right at Kidani.

Do you like Boma dinner? It's not that we disliked it and couldn't find anything to eat, I just don't think anything blew us away like Jiko or Sanaa does, and maybe we were expecting it to? I would try it for breakfast I think. I will say this about Boma dinner...They did have a great kids selection. My DD6 ate 5 meatballs, and she doesn't usually eat meatballs. My ds3 would have loved the meatballs, but he was so pre-occupied with not having to go to the bathroom, that he couldn't eat a thing...:rolleyes2 Ahhh, the joys of potty training...He is trained but there are certain things (well, one thing really) he just won't do in public...sheesh! Maybe that clouded our dinner :rotfl2:

I know this is completely not allowed but let's just SAY that someone on this board were a DVC member and just happened to be randomly checking availability. I'm really, really considering a quick trip down to Orlando now thanks to family crisis.... we just lost our dog. :sad1::sad1: I'm thinking about 4/4 - 4/7 or 4/11 - 4/14. What are our chances for a 1br or a studio at either Jambo or Kidani? Disney is starting to put out some decent hotel rates for the second time period but my sister could come and help us out with the kids if we go the earlier period. But that would me 1br. If just me, DH and the babes, we could do studio.

Should I just look at booking through Disney? Or consider trying to rent? What would you do?

Oh we LOVE Boma breakfast - and we're not super breakfast people. But there are lots of neat things to try and we've always had wonderful service.

Actually, I have been on the site looking for those exact dates (the second set) and yes they are available for studios at both resorts.

So sorry about your dog.

I don't think you're breaking any rules with your post. :confused3 At this point, I suggest you try everything! check price through Disney; see if a rental agency might be able to secure a rental for you; check the DVC rental board here.

If you decide to rent, if this is your first time renting, unless you know (and trust) the individual you would be renting from -- I would recommend going through an agency (David's is the only one I am aware of - but I know there are others). You pay more per point, but you also have the security of knowing you won't get scammed. :goodvibes

I hope you are able to work something out.

I just used Davids for the trip last week and they were really wonderful! So easy, I would definitely check them out! I am planning to use them again in 2 years...
