Hello all! :wave2:

The GoofySon and I are going back to the World for another quick weekend trip! :cool1:

For those that do not know us, here we are:

I am the Mom, Vicki, closer to 50 than 40, but who is counting!

DS, Andrew, is 17 and thankfully loves Disney as much as his Mom! :thumbsup2

We took a Mom & Son trip back in 2008 and had the most wonderful time!

I cannot believe how much he has grown! :crazy2: But I digress. Last summer when at the World with DH along, he got the idea that next summer (which is now actually this summer!) Andrew and I should have another Mom & Son trip before DS went off to college the following year (2014). Thinking about it, it made sense to get APs before we left. When my job was eliminated shortly before our trip last August, I chose to take the money from my 401k in cash because there wasn't a lot of money in it and I wasn't sure when I would find a job. As luck would have it, I started work the day after we returned from Disney. :) So what to do with the 401k money? Go back to Disney, of course! :cheer2:

Thus our two long weekend trips were born ... the first over Veteran's Day for our first trip to Food & Wine and now this second trip for Spring Break and the Flower & Garden Festival! :flower3:

Now for the details! Changes in Red

We are flying out Friday, March 22nd on an 8pm flight that arrives in Orlando just before 11pm. Taking the ME to Art of Animation. Since a Lion King Suite really wasn't in the budget, DS is indulging me by staying in a Little Mermaid room. I really wanted to try out the resort. We don't spend a lot of time in the room any way!

Saturday, March 23rd

EPCOT this morning to see the Flower & Garden "stuff"
Lunch will be at Rose & Crown

We are then going to head over to DTD because I want to try out the Characters in Flight balloon ride. (Didn't get to do this. The weekend was so windy I am not sure the balloon even went up) Back to EPCOT for dinner at Les Chefs de France.

Sunday, March 24th

MK this morning - Park is open 7am til 3am for resort guests so we are expecting the crowds!
Plan is for a late breakfast/early lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern probably only for Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake! (Don't judge, we are in Disney!)UUnfortunately did not make this!

Real lunch will be QS in the MK - possibly Be Our Guest mostly likely Columbia Harbor House

Over to the Poly around 4:30 for a Dismeet and hopefully some sushi at the Kona Sushi Bar The Storm changed these plans!

Dinner is at The Wave. Again, the storm turned this into EPCOT QS

Back to MK for EMH until 3am!!

Monday, March 25th

Plan is to sleep in after a late night. Breakfast/Lunch at Landscape of Flavors, then walk over to POP to take the bus to Wide World of Sports for the afternoon pre-season baseball game. We are really excited about this as we have never done it before. Braves are playing the Mets (who we hate!) so it will be fun rooting for the home team! Probably have a snack at the game.

After a few innings of the game we will head over to DHS for snacks at Sci Fi. Then to EPCOT for a later dinner at La Hacienda (DS's only request)
May end up back at DHS for the 10pm Fantasmic or just head over to MK til 1am closing.

This whole day changed. No ball game for us. We wanted more park time!

Tuesday, March 26th

We can hit any Park before heading back to AoA to catch the ME around 1 for our 4pm flight home. Ended up just sleeping in!

So there you have it, a very packed whirlwind trip at a very crowded time in the World! (Hey we have done 4th of July and Christmas week, we can do anything!)

I told DH last night that I am looking forward to this trip more than any other. He pointed out that I always say that before a trip. I guess if I didn't, it would be time to vacation some place else!

So we changed quite a bit of my "perfect" plan. And of course, the trip was still magical. I need to learn to lay off the planning a it and just go with the flow more!

Love it! I did a mother-daughter trip several years back and I can't wait to do it again - so much fun! My family and I will be there the same week in March too BTW. :)

Can't wait to read your report. You will be getting there about the time we are leaving. Have a great trip!

It sounds like it will be a great trip! Those Little Mermaid rooms look adorable from the pictures I have seen! :thumbsup2

Yeah and not too princess girlie so DS should be ok! Lol

So last year my job was eliminated on July 20th - a month before our summer trip. Thankfully I started a job the day after our return but it was long term temporary. I was told yesterday that this coming week will be my last ... two weeks before our Spring Break trip. :(

I am upset/anxious because I obviously need a job but I am also sad because I really really liked this job and the people there. :worried: I will miss them very much.

But the Disney trip will go on! I have been trying to get a late afternoon ADR at Sci Fi for weeks and finally got one yesterday! :thumbsup2 So after seeing a few innings of the ball game on Monday we will head to Sci Fi for a snack/appetizer before our later dinner at La Hacienda.

I am not really sure why it was so important to me that we get in to Sci Fi but for some reason it became an obsession. So now I feel everything is set. The perfect 3+ day trip!

Will deal with the job stuff when I get back!

So sorry to hear that Vicki. :worried: And you were only given one week's notice. That really stinks! :sad2:

I know I probably said this last time but it's something I firmly believe in.

I will help you load up with lots of pixie dust during your trip to Disney World. You will surely find that open door immediately upon your return home. :thumbsup2

Sorry about the job loss but a trip to Disney is just the distraction until you can find a new one.

Because I am a temp, they didn't even have to give me that. But the manager likes me and I know she is sorry that the current volume of business doesn't support keeping me.

I believe that as well ... and my last job letting me go definitely proved that with this new job. But now that it is ending, I just don't know what to think.

Thanks. Yes, the trip cannot come soon enough for me at this point!
